  1. it's more to my Sunday morning music but I'll take it on a Saturday.. Jerry is arguably the best steel player in the world but I picked this one for John Hiatt, a man in our younger day who often played in a lounge I tended bar in. Bit of a bohemian in those days

  2. Nice Jaap. Don't know what they are singing about but music communicates on many levels. Puts me in the mind of Iris Dement. With top shelf accompaniment Emmylou, Jerry Douglas and Aly Bain.

  6. As a fellow Aircraft engineer told me early in my career (when an engineer could still use his judgment on airworthiness issues) "The maintenance manual is there for the guidance of the wise and the blind obedience of fools" Applies to translated Italian motorcycle shop manuals as well. Phil

  7. Located in Milwaukee, WI I’m the second owner of this well sorted bike. I bought this in 2014 from a guy that had it in a storage facility in Michigan and it hadn’t been ridden in a few years. I bought it basically sight unseen, trailered it home and basically pulled it apart and cleaned every single bit of it. This bike has been at every WI Guzzi Rally from 2015-2019 and has been on several long weekend trips without issue. I unfortunately don’t have the time to ride much anymore, so it’s time to sell. I’ve never laid this bike down, and it doesn’t appear that the original has crashed it either. It starts within a few seconds and runs strong and shifts easily. New oils and oil filter this year. Air filter was replaced in 2019. Valves have been adjusted as needed, TPS set and everything has been regularly lubed and fluids replaced as needed or according to schedule. Aprox. 20k miles. Purchased with bad odometer (original owner said he put about 10k miles on it). Has a Speed Hut mechanical Speedometer and tach on it which has a custom made GM speed sensor on it (see pic). DM for more info and pics Ohlins suspension and fork brace. Fork seals were replaced in 2019 when the tires were installed by Ducati Milwaukee. Battery is about 4 years old and has been on a Battery MINDer with desulfator. It’s as strong as ever. Meinholf fuel/air map on it and it runs great! Has a spare set of wheels on it powder coated in black with 90 degree angle valve stems. I also have matching black "pork chops” which I haven’t had time to install. The alternator cover has also been powder coated black, as well as the cylinder head covers. Cylinder head covers and engine crash bars Shad top box and Hepco Becker side cases with keys TTO engine block thermometer Oxford heated hand grips (best on the market IMHO) HID headlight (I have the original Bosch unit as well) as well as factory headlight mount. Current headlight mounts are from an EV model. Folding shift lever ADV Monster LED driving lights with remote (see pics) Fuzeblock for all added accessories Roper slopper plate Ducati Monster carbon fiber headlight flyscreen Pirelli Angel GT II tires installed in 2019 with less than 2k miles on them. I believe I replaced the rear brake pads then, and the fronts are in great shape. CRG bar end mirrors (I believe I have the original mirrors). Pazzo adjustable levers Gold handlebars have been painted black Aftermarket exhaust crossover (I think it’s Stucchi). The original is included with the sale

  9. I love this analogy (that I will paraphrase) from weather forecasting models: "Some models (manuals) are helpful, all models (manuals) are wrong."

  12. Yesterday I finished putting the bike back together again and now the rattle is gone! After having made two test rides I was not able to reproduce the rattle. Pushing the bike makes no sound at all. I'm still puzzled as to what it may have been but I had a close look at many parts and everything looked and felt good. Let's see if it stays this way. At the moment I'm just very happy I can ride again! When assembling the bike and because the motor was still in the frame I had to mount the clutch in a vertical position. To keep the springs in place while screwing on the clutch disk I wedged some electric wire between the spring coils then pushed the disk against the flywheel while holding the wire taut and then pulled out the wire through the center hole. I was amazed about how well this worked This is the PVC centering tool that I made. Worked perfect the first time! The PVC end-cap that I bought in the DIY shop had the perfect measurements. I glued some extra pieces on it to align the two clutch discs. May thanks for all your great comments and suggestions. I'm all happy now! By the way: The clutch plates thickness was at 57% so I reused them. The oil was coming from two bolts so I tightened them a bit.

  15. I spent 3 days last week in the Valleys between Swansea & Neath, and enjoyed sampling some Tomas Walkins Ale. There’s plenty of ale sunk in the valleys, it is an ex-mining region, and although the mines have long since closed the tradition lives on Here’s another gratuitous pic of my Rosso Corsa next to the Matlock telephone booth yesterday. The boozer is 20 yards away over the road, temperatures reached 80 deg F yesterday, the boozer was rammed
