  1. Our V11 sure does look right with certain classic shapes. One of the drivers in this Porsche Club freaked out over the V11 Sport, having "never seen one in person" . . .

  2. Just waking up from the TTB/Los Lobos show at Red Rocks. Incredible show. I've seen both together in a small venue (1000) and now seeing them play at 10k venue. The pictures didn't come out as well but the energy and the sound moving across so much space was very powerful. Los Lobos ended with Mas y Mas that had Derrick and the horns accompanying. LL's drummer returned the favor in an instrumental jam from the first vol of the new record. Gabe Dixon opened with his own band as well keyboards for TTB, he played with all three bands. TTB played a couple of songs on the new album, Midnight in Harlem (of course), Angel from Montgomery/Sugaree, closed with I want More/Allman's jam, the encore was Space Captain (we have to live together). As with all the shows I can remember, Susan did the first guitar solo. She was subtly political with messages of unity and caring, I saw folks of all ages, a dad & his 6-7 year-olds were dancing right next to me. Afterwards, I had a 50 mile drive through the park up a mountain highway and got back to the place about 1:30, certainly a riveting drive in the dark particularly after consuming some special local treats.

  3. I used to see them around L.A. fairly often in the early 80's...1981-82-83 when they would play in Culver City or over in Hollywood at Club Lingerie...always a good performance! Steve Berlin was playing with them and and Top Jimmy and the Rythm Pigs in those days I believe.

  4. Mine is just like that, bought with under 25 miles on it, and the exhaust cans also have that hue (along with some boot rubber smears on the pipe leading in). When I put the VIN # in with my insurance it said "rosso" for no reason and I just took it as ID "shotgunning" or some such...

  6. I love this analogy (that I will paraphrase) from weather forecasting models: "Some models (manuals) are helpful, all models (manuals) are wrong."

  7. Yesterday I finished putting the bike back together again and now the rattle is gone! After having made two test rides I was not able to reproduce the rattle. Pushing the bike makes no sound at all. I'm still puzzled as to what it may have been but I had a close look at many parts and everything looked and felt good. Let's see if it stays this way. At the moment I'm just very happy I can ride again! When assembling the bike and because the motor was still in the frame I had to mount the clutch in a vertical position. To keep the springs in place while screwing on the clutch disk I wedged some electric wire between the spring coils then pushed the disk against the flywheel while holding the wire taut and then pulled out the wire through the center hole. I was amazed about how well this worked This is the PVC centering tool that I made. Worked perfect the first time! The PVC end-cap that I bought in the DIY shop had the perfect measurements. I glued some extra pieces on it to align the two clutch discs. May thanks for all your great comments and suggestions. I'm all happy now! By the way: The clutch plates thickness was at 57% so I reused them. The oil was coming from two bolts so I tightened them a bit.
