  1. These kind of political comments are totally unnecessary and unwanted on this forum.

  2. Ha! I was that guy ... but you know that. As for this SSR, I have yet to decide which Guzzi gets the nod. The Norge is now, sigh, history. Tales of that sale on site for the price of a beer (or better). Kathi has been looking forward to the XVIIIth, but our Seattle daughter just made her a conflicting offer of two weeks with the three grands out there, so I'll sadly solo it. Speaking of grands, one of our Maryland set is visiting. Plan to give her a ride on the EV today. She is game, but worried as she thinks "motorcycles are so dangerous." That from a 13-YO who does this every weekend, and just back from a blue-ribbon "event(ing)" in N.C.! Anyway, looking forward to the SSR albeit sans supervisor. Bill

  4. Five weeks out to the Eighteenth South'n SpineRaid. Currently in Tire Preservation Mode. I don't wanna be "that guy" hanging out at Wheeler's waiting for The Spoon. If'n you end up "that guy", it's okay. Lots of SpineRaiders will hang there with you. And The Spoon is a good tech who's gotcha covered.

  5. Fill your cold tires to a pressure, write it down. Go ride for at least a half hour through hiway and twisties as best you can. Stop and check the pressures again and they should be within 10% of your initial fill. Adjust accordingly. Paul B

  9. so i checked the clutch connections, all good. checked the stator, it read fine, changed out relay two and charged the battery, she starts and lives again. this is leading me to think i have a bad regulator. i will check that today and see where i am at.

  10. I purchased one of those CF lookalike fiberglass covers a few years ago. it was posted somewhere on here. I wanted to match the CF bikini fairing. It's held up and looks good. It weighs more than the OEM aluminum cover. I was too cheap to get the stick-on Guzzi emblem or to buy the actual CF cover that was offered.

  11. I love "patina". On "other peoples" bikes that is.

  12. Member @NakedV (Mick) hasn't visited for many years, but left us a nice album in the Gallery, including this excellent image of the exact Sport we have been discussing (without the added fairing):

  13. This exact same thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago on my RC. Was riding home on a back road having a great time...looked down and saw my tach not working...oh oh. About 5 minutes later my bike started running rough, on one cylinder, then just died. I was able to find a nice Oak shade tree and called for a tow pickup home. Attempts to restart were met with no cranking. After checking all, decided to put in some reserve OMRON relays that I had (should've done this on the side of the road). Anyway, after doing a full tune up, oil change and under tank check on all the connectors, she fired right up and is good to go again. I do think it was the #2, which I didn't think was as susceptible to issues as the starter circuit. Andy

  14. Yah: tach down --> lights down --> bikes dies is classic Relay #2. 12.6v is about 80% for an AGM battery after it wasn't charging from the Relay#2 failure. Best High current relay commonly available looks to be the CIT: https://www.onlinecomponents.com/en/cit-relay-and-switch/a11csq12vdc15r-51176058.html# The first "No Start" condition is likely separate. This often occurs if the "bullet connectors" for the clutch safety switch are compromised:

  15. Our V11 sure does look right with certain classic shapes. One of the drivers in this Porsche Club freaked out over the V11 Sport, having "never seen one in person" . . .

  16. I learned to love the sound of gear drive cams in the late 60s. Drag racing cars, then Nascar at a short track I worked at. At about the 2:05 point and later, the siren song can be heard. Bike must be fast as it appears to have melted the fairing around the rider.

  17. Hi folks! The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated, just like ol' Mark Twain said. All is good. I have been away from this splendid forum way too long. Hiatus is over, I hope. Not too many trips with Mizz Greenie so far. She runs like a dream, except for the occasional coughing at +/- 3500rpm. Last time I tried to hook up GuzziDiag it failed. I will try again. Would love to load Meinolf's map onto my 15M ECU I hope you all are well and having a good time. (The photo is from the lake Nord-Mesna last Saturday. Captured from my iPhone on a rock using Apple Watch as a self-timer. Yeah, I know.. fancy pants)
