  2. I love my Tekno panniers! They are so versatile and dependable. Yep, they expand. And will hold a full case of long-neck ale bottles in sixes. It ain't purty, but it's real . . .

  4. The injectors your looking for have an industry part # IW 031, These are used on Maserati's, Lamborghini's, Ducati's and Moto Guzzi. Probably Lancia, Fiat and a few others. They are made by Weber Marelli and are available through most automotive supply houses. Avoid the Chineseum Paul B

  5. Hey all, longtime! In the finishing stages of a v7 sport resto. I’m trying to re-create the original Legnano Verde (?) color. I thought the most obtainable piece maybe a V11 sport greenie side cover. They’re plastic and fragile. Therefore I’d imagine someone may have a broken one laying around? Again I’m just looking for a color representation. PM me if you have something. thanks Bill

  6. Bummer but glad your mostly ok. Sounds like that foreign object wrapped around the front wheel was the culprit. Phil

  11. Wow, that is such a great question! As this is not an organized "rally" or actual "event", but only an "idea" - there really (really) is no schedule, locations, or prescribed roads or routes - yet, there are some historical commonalities . . . There tends to be a lot going on in the garage at TheLodgeatTellico all weekend, especially in the evenings. Folks tend to arrive Thursday or Friday, sometimes even Saturday. Most of us leave-out Sunday morning, but some stay on. Saturday invites us to ride as, and with whom, we see fit. Often solo, in pairs, or small groups will sally forth to engage the hills and dales (as well as the Appalachian Divide including the Cherohala Skyway and US 129 Deal's Gap/ "The Tail of the Dragon"). Saturday lunch at The Tapoco Lodge by the Cheoah ("Fugitive") Dam is very popular and we often find each other there, or another mile up US129 at the "Crossroads" (with NC28) that anchors the Tail of the Dragon. Y'all get familiar with the roads and places. Bring your maps and GPS routes to share and compare. Friday evening, under the pavilion at The Lodge at Tellico, will see some plans hatched and some alliances formed . . .

  12. Ha! I was that guy ... but you know that. As for this SSR, I have yet to decide which Guzzi gets the nod. The Norge is now, sigh, history. Tales of that sale on site for the price of a beer (or better). Kathi has been looking forward to the XVIIIth, but our Seattle daughter just made her a conflicting offer of two weeks with the three grands out there, so I'll sadly solo it. Speaking of grands, one of our Maryland set is visiting. Plan to give her a ride on the EV today. She is game, but worried as she thinks "motorcycles are so dangerous." That from a 13-YO who does this every weekend, and just back from a blue-ribbon "event(ing)" in N.C.! Anyway, looking forward to the SSR albeit sans supervisor. Bill

  13. You should know that the south pole is at the top. The attached map shows this clearly. 10 million penguins can't all be wrong.

  14. I just posted it to WG, so it's the same screed. Well I binned my Moto Guzzi EV and scraped myself up pretty good. I was taking a left hand cloverleaf downhill to merge on to the expressway, lightly trail braking and the bike low-sided and scraped the pavement. I highsided and rolled over and kissed the pavement twice since my modular helmet was open. The bike was still running on the curb. All kinds of traffic was barreling down that blind cloverleaf behind me. A couple of good Samaritans helped me get the bike up and asked if I wanted an ambulance. I want to get the bike moved, my shop is couple miles away. Anyway, we got it up and it started. The windshield, running boards, crash bar and grab handled were buggered on the left side and handlebar bent. There was a big bunch of wadded plastic like packing material in the front fender it was wrapped around the caliper. I didn't consider it at the time but I'm pretty sure that was the culprit. I had my gear on but my old mesh jacket ripped and I've got road rash my forearm and elbow, my nose and chin are scraped as well a small spot on my right knee. Those riding jeans I wrote about aren't ripped. My Shoei is a little knacked on the chinbar since it was open. In the mess of getting it all together I lost one of my custom earplugs, this irks me the most. I call the wife and tell her to meet me at the shop. The cops come by and asks if I want an ambulance. I've got my gear on by then and just want to ride it to the shop. The clutch won't work, it's lost the pivot pin. We find a sheet metal screw on the pavement, good enough. I try to adjust the mirrors and fail. So I ask the cop to block traffic so I can ride it. For some reason he's screws around and I just take off down the expressway at the first break. I get off at the first exit and doubleback 3 miles to the shop. I finally get the mirrors adjusted half way there. I'm grateful to be moving to get some air riding back with the helmet still open. When I get there one of the techs wife is an EMT and they patch up my elbow. I wait and call my wife again, she misunderstood and is panicked and not left yet. I try to cool off, wash up and drink lots of water. Bev picks me up. I get home have a beer and take a Tylenol and a stashed muscles relaxer. Take a shower and have scotch and write this story. I'm going to have to get earplugs. I've got other helmets and jackets. My lower back is a little sore.
