  1. And for full enjoyment it’s best to assemble and fill with oil, then find the wee circlip when you’re tidying up. Then, for extra magic ace-ness, assemble again, fill with oil again, then find out that you’ve nudged the eccentric out of whack. Can’t beat doing it a few times to really get speedy at doing it 😀

  2. Managed to R&R the V7's rear tire without losing any of my blood or fingers. Now, I am cleaning it a bit after a recent run in the rain, tho we all know what a waste of time that is. But, as @Joe posted, we still do it. Bill

  3. ^ That one could do with a re-paint. @docc if it comes down to a repaint, I have dark grey fender from a 2002 Champagne LeMans that you can have for the cost of shipping. Consider it a forum donation.

  6. Hi LaGrasta, Hey, there is another thread here somewhere that discusses swapping the throttle high cam spring with the seat lock spring in the seat tail section. The stiffer of the two springs belongs to the seat lock release, the lesser of the two goes on the high cam return. My understanding is MG goofed and installed the springs in the wrong locations.

  8. Weather is looking like typical late summer, Tennessee: scattered afternoon thundershowers after 1pm. Otherwise, no "severe" weather. Just be weather aware. Getting caught up on the Cherohala in an afternoon lightning storm with no shelter is bad form . . .

  9. Readying for the South'n Spine Raid '22. Went 200 miles yesterday, 55-65mph mostly. All good, 41.5mpg temps in the 90's and sunny. Running up the bridge on the way home, got a couple misfires so today was WTF day. I pulled the spark plugs and realized that I don't remember having new ones since I bought it... they look the part of 25k-ish, and on the 70% dark chocolate side of brown. Huh...I spent a lot of time working out my map on my 10k when I bought it. However, I thought that since the thing runs so much better with Caruso's gears than the chain, I should have a revisit to the fuel map- I installed the map I originally downloaded from the Jeffries website when I first installed the MyECU. The map (Raz's, if anyone's asking) was too lean pretty much everywhere at first and I added 5-15% to it where it needed it. So today, with a new set of plugs in, I snapped in the original unaltered Raz map and well what do you know... it's very smooth and feels perfect so far, with only a teeny leanness while 'coasting' in first gear at 5k rpm. I'll have to leave the heavy throttle testing for the 'Raid. But so far, so good. My partner is joining on her '21 Enfield Himalayan. That was the most of WTF day; since new was hard starting and cold blooded with a tendency to stall at stops. An improved ign switch connector helped, but yesterday after 195 miles it quit without ceremony in the middle of 3rd gear, with zero fuel pump even this morning cold. The slow bulldozer of science determined that there was some sort of unidentified (and undiscovered) debris in the fuel pump- drawing 6.5amps not starting, 2.5a when running, and after disassembly, flushing and reversing now starts every time and draws only 1.5a while running. Now to figure out how 3 are going on the trailer tomorrow.

  12. Hi, OK, I'm late to the party but after reading up to this point has me wondering about the fuel quality. When I've had starting issues with my carb bikes I'll check for fuel (fresh & flowing), fire (good spark) & compression ( if it gets that far). My V11 LeMans has the factory program in it as far as I know, it has always required high cam throttle engagement (aka choke) and a slight throttle roll during cold start cranking it then will roar to life otherwise it will attempt to start but stall. So, that's my 2¢ worth. Hope you're able to get your bikes up & running without too much more heartburn. Art

  13. Saw this one on eBay, not cheap and showing a few scars but looks structurally sound.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/384510691071?hash=item59869f86ff:g:02MAAOSwD4BhmKCF&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8HuTxwnzluWSj9Zt1B5fM2%2BdNblehEreT5tJIWwDy0OKe3FTBCuDb48yRFsXf1TDJx8%2FQ%2BzZsgmhaXQeVInAGlbfgvp5xyWiA2N%2Bjuxl0AscMwTVBFRLnsE3JMJS9DCz8vdd3wG%2B4g4VcjcLaFNGLacpYZPI4qefaACEbg33YmInKfxmYUEFnpPVmDQdlRMOqBco2sxeKmK3ZjAwNgvCFBoDsNNQyI9%2B4V2FDOqsQVHQ09kxn%2Bqgg2Ge82cAdj76VrXbXejuCJGRbdPlwFbPEm9isAM%2BTyTXsit0Wr%2B4DGHTKL%2BZPEoNe3%2FGe7JGmH36Ww%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_aQ673iYA
