We're fine, if stiff with some sore spots. The Himalayan got a slightly bent shifter, the LeMans got a tiny bit of broken fin on the sump with scuffed paint on the lower fairing, and the 'Sport needs some filler and paint on the bodywork and the seats are usable but nicked up. There's an oil leak somewhere and the cooler took a minor hit from the wheel chock. Mirrors and T/S damage. Overall, insignificant. The trailer needs some heavy repair at the tongue and mounting points for fender/lamps. The truck, well, we'll see. There's minor frame damage, certainly repairable but not necessarily economical as it doesn't book well enough to warrant collision coverage. I may actually hire a traffic attorney to sort out the towing and insurance- 2 trucks x 100 miles was $3500 to get it all home, and there are 3 separate road service policies to sort out. The one silver lining is that I actually carry collision on the 'Sport so I'll recover all but the deductible. The thing that grinds my gears worst of all is that I have front and rear cameras in the truck, which record on a 30 second cycle; I turned the key off before the cycle filed itself so I have literally days of record and the only one that mattered is missing. If you have a dash cam, put it on a separate switch from the ignition. It's engineering stupidity to have a device that depends on the vehicle's battery for critical events, it should be built with an internal battery or capacitor that allows file completion in the event of electrical failure. Grr. That all said, it was a fantastic Spine Raid and we all had a magnificent time. Already looking forward to next year, and looking towards some 'pre- raid travelling around there next season (as this season is quite obviously at an end). Thanks for asking after us.5 points

Glad to hear nobody was seriously hurt, very sorry to hear about the motorcycle/truck damage. That all said, it was a fantastic Spine Raid and we all had a magnificent time. Already looking forward to next year, and looking towards some 'pre- raid travelling around there next season. I agree, maybe we should plan a "Spring Meet" gathering the Spine Raider's together to ride, just a thought.......4 points

I've got Vespa 150 and like it a lot. Great running short errands around. I live in the rural setting on the coast, no need to gearing up, no helmet, no insurance...Feels like I am 16 again when I had my very first motorized vehicle also called "wasp" but in Polish ( Polish "Osa" = Italian "Vespa" = English "wasp") Good times...2 points

I would seriously set the valves and the TPS. These are static settings and straightforward to address and check off the list. Like, what if each of those parameters are out enough to fire start fluid, but not run on its own? Worth doing, IMCO.2 points

Back when I was a pup, Grandmother said, "The older you get the faster time goes." I thought at the time it was just another of Grandmother's BS stories. She was right again, and I was just young and stupid.2 points

Getting SpineRaiders to line up their bikes for a photo-op is like asking all your friends to bring their cats for a group shot. Formula for a cat fight. Yet, just serendipitously, I find this one image of all five Spineys at this year's XVIII SSR . . .2 points

Howdy folks! I was told by one of the members on here that I should make a little "blog" about my upcoming trip so here ya go! My son is moving back to Indiana and I offered to go along on his road trip, meanwhile as his move was being planned I got ahold of an old friend about a bike he had for sale and that I had interest in picking up the bike and riding it back to California. The story on he bike: The bike originally belonged to a dear old riding buddy and I even remember when he bought it "with a credit card" from Tipton Hardware, Moto Guzzi, and Red Wing Boots dealer. haha We moved back to Cali in 2011 and he passed away shortly thereafter. A mutual friend bought the bike from his sister as a memento and has probably only put 1k miles on it over the last 10 years. Now it's my turn to take over the "memento". The trip back: I plan on leaving Sept 14th from Northern Indiana down the 55 to hwy 36 thru Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and into Colorado. Then I'll take the 70 to the 15 in Utah into Nevada, once I hit Cali I'll take 395 north to hwy 108 back home to Copperopolis. I plan on doing approx 500 miles a day and giving myself 6 days if needed to return. If anyone has any cool camping spots or roadside attractions to check out along the way please let me know. I'll try and do a daily update to this post. Thanks, Langley1 point

È stata davvero una gran bella festa, soprattutto perché si respirava un clima unico...erano tutti molto socievoli ed entusiasti. La stampa ha stimato un'affluenza di ben 60.000 persone. It was really a great party, especially because there was a unique atmosphere ... they were all very sociable and enthusiastic. The press estimated a turnout of 60,000 people https://www.insella.it/news/giornate-mondiali-guzzi-2022-affluenza-record-ledizione-del-centenario-166370#:~:text=Organizzate a Mandello dall'8,hanno letteralmente invaso la sponda https://www.motoguzzi.com/it_IT/mondo-moto-guzzi/news-moto-guzzi/gmg-8-11-settembre-2023-recap-finale/1 point

I reckon @Biglangster is staged for a morning departure. Looks like a huge, clear high pressure dome over the Midwest and across the plains. Hot in the plains, though . . . Buon viaggio !1 point

After cranking awhile, pull the plugs and see if they are wet, if dry, then you have a fuel issue, which could be pump, regulator, injector, etc.1 point

That is sad news. Over the years, I've learned lots from that forum, hope that it somehow continues on. Condolences and prayers for the family & friends of Mr Daley1 point

Sorry to hear that news. I've heard good things about that site, but never looked closely as I don't have a Griso. But it looks like I missed a good resource for my Stelvio... I do hope the site gets maintained.1 point

Howdy all, we made it to Indiana via a pick up and I got to take the Guzzi for a ride in the rain today. We spent the afternoon getting gear pack on and we should be on the road Wednesday morning. https://www.dropbox.com/s/krxtr1saxxsvxr6/PXL_20220912_165929443.PORTRAIT.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/rss3aen52z76vki/pxl_20220912_164635027.jpg?dl=01 point

Back in the mists of time a PC was the only way in the aftermarket to modify the map. The problem was, and remains, that they are a crude and simple device allowing only limited modification to certain aspects of the map. There are now numerous, better, alternatives that have the added advantage of not having to interfere with the loom and giving full access to if not all, then at least many more aspects of the map. The 15M and 15M-RC controllers are a completely open book as far as map manipulation is concerned. A PC I think appeals to some as it is often sold and perceived as a 'Magic' plug in filled with mystical Ju-Ju and the fitting of one will deliver the mystical/mechanical equivalent of a 'Laying on of hands' which of course it doesn't! They are also often marketed in the same way by people who really don't have much of a clue so the gullible are easily exploited. Quite simply there are many better options for enhancing performance, (And by 'Performance' I am not simply referring to power and torque figures.) than a plug-in box.1 point

Well. 1.5 hours from home got jackknifed from behind in the rain. Truck hurt bad, trailer hurt bad, relatively light bike damage- mostly my sport- but they stayed on the trailer. No injuries. Long night ahead. Meh.0 points
