I've had similar issues on two V11. Both were the crankcase ventilation tube. The pasta they are made of doesn't like oil and heat so they disintegrate. The leak can start at the top clamp and run down and drip on various cables and such and can appear to come from 'wherever". The most common spot to fall apart is at the lower hose clamp and then drips down the sides to wherever it wants to go.

We've been stopping there for years. First time the hostess went to check on seating and came back to say, "You're bikers, right? We have a place for you in the back." (Mind you, we roll in along with the local after-church crowd. ) She then seated us with the "best server on staff" . . . (aka: off-duty Adult Entertainment Specialist )

I hear that is THE place to go . A few years ago , "the other place" was listed as one of the Top 10 BBQ places in the United States . Boy , we were let down . When we were asking for directions , the man said "you want to go to Old Hickory" . I was on a quest and had to go to Moonlite . The Smithsonian Magazine can't be wrong . Well . I should have hung around another day to get another appetite ready . Around here , I (and my dog) make a daily trip to Leigh's at Future City . Chopped , on bun and she gets the bone . BTW , the dog has to stay o/s . They also have great ribs or the best chicken but , you have to order the day before . There are a bunch of other BBQ stands (that is what they are referred to here) and have their personalized character . BBQ and sauce are personal opinion . I'm gettin' hungry .

replacing it is a win win. Even if that isn't the leak source, the original tube will fail so, good to rule it out.

this was from a parts bike I had. Hand made. This is stainless so not an easy shop fab, but maybe useful for you to come up with something if you don't find anything. it's made from flat stock and bent. I made a template for future needs. This lighting is ebay. You can make flat portions larger for different lights. the lower bit is just thin aluminum cut to cover the exposed wiring and such under the tail. After 6 years without running, I would take the injectors out and have them professionally cleaned and tested, replace fuel filter and make sure you have fresh fuel in the tank.

While replacing fuel filter, also replace the air filter. And be certain there is not a cozy chipmunk nest in the airbox. . . .

The Gondola in McMinnville, Tennessee, is our halfway home lunch-spot leaving the South'n SpineRaid. We always arrive with a big appetite after traversing the 4 thousand-foot climbs and drop-offs over the Cumberland Plateau. They have never let us down, but this visit was exceptional. Certainly the food, but mostly due to the presence of Kentuckians. Seems they have a particular "effect" on the service staff . . .

While in Owensboro, I visited the statue of Nicky Hayden, #69, I think this is from his victory lap at Laguna Seca after winning the Moto GP Championship against Valentino Rossi. He later hugged his dad and started crying, epic. Anyways, "in these parts" he's a legend, and deservedly so.

I ended up with Michelin Road 5s, definitely pricy. 6s not available. Shop said they have customers who get 15k with them on guzzis and heavier bmws. The tune up and new tires greatly improved the performance and ride.

welcome milo. how did you test pressure? disconnect fuel line and watch it squirt? replace the fuel filter if you have not yet done so. others will chime in on injectors.

+1 on paper maps. This picture was the start of a great adventure. San Diego, CA to central Utah primarily on twisty two-lane roads. One sheet per gas stop. Just rotate in the tank bag window. I had another set for the way home. And here is Capitol Reef, the last point on the map in this picture. And I'll tell you my favorite paper map story... I'm on a 450 KTM doing a solo loop from Sedona AZ to Flagstaff and back. I get my trusty Federal Motor Vehicle Use Map from the ranger station and plan my loop. On the way back South I'm getting a little concerned about time so I'm moving quick and I get flagged by a ranger. He tells me I'm not allowed to continue on my motorcycle and that I need to turn around. This a HUGE time-sucking detour if I do it. I pull out my Motor Vehicle Use Map. I point to a spot on the map and ask, "Are we here?" He says "Yeah, I guess that road is open now, but only to motorcycles, go ahead." I make it back before dark. PAPER MAPS RULE. Now I confess, I also had a GPS mounted on the handlebars at the time and I was following the line I had laid down (based on the MVUM). On a sidenote, a "breadcrumb" GPS track can save your ass if you are off in the woods alone and get confused.

Trying to find the source of a little oil leak! Yes...I know [emoji846] It seems to develop mainly on the right side of the engine. I carried out an oil change and service recently and set the valve gaps. I renewed the cam cover gaskets at the time.. I've checked the torque on the heads and visually the gasket seal seems fine. Head gaskets also seem ok. The leak seems to come from under the tank down into the engine but as I say mainly on the rh side. To trace a leak I have always completely degreased, puffed the area with white talcum powder and then fired her up. It is immediately obvious where the source is by the dark staining in the powder. Chris.

+1 on the breather hose. They are nefarious for leaks. Also, visible in every one of your images, is the distributor blanking plate. Seen here just beyond the blue connector for the head temperature sensor: Mine benefited from a fresh O-ring and a smear of sealant. That said, you have so much oil forward of that, it is likely, as Lucky Phil said, to find the breather hose leaking where it attaches to the spine frame at the front . . .

It's the breather hose from the frame backbone behind the steering head to the back of the engine crankcase at 1200 oclock. Ciao

Look, people are welcome to do exactly as they please but the two things I did when I first bought the Scura RC now owned by Chuck was to replace the single plate clutch with a twin plater and dump the shitty pod filters and reinstall the airbox. If people want to run a K & N filter that's fine but if it comes into my workshop expect a torrent of spluttering, incandescent fury and for it to be returned to you in a bag when the service is complete!

Removing the airbox on a modern bike and going to pods is about the equivalent of hacksawing your header pipes off 4 inches from the port. People still do it though. Ciao

What you will achieve is a loss of performance and accelerated wear of your engine. Pod filters, as I stated in another thread yesterday, are utter shit and should be ruthlessly stamped out whenever they rear their ugly, useless, heads!

I think you will only introduce a bunch of idle and running problems with near-zero performance gains.
