  1. Dennis’s wife, Taew, has recovered and returned to the U.S.Because many of Dennis's family and friends live overseas, his memorial service was delayed, but has now been set for 16 October 2022.Here's the announcement for that in the event any of you might be able to attend. Dennis's family would be touched to see any of his extended "moto-family," too. The family understands, of course, that few might be able actually to attend the ceremony in Georgia on 16 October.Dennis’s daughter, Martina, thought, however, that some who knew Dennis — and even those who did not but had read of his motorcycling life and loss — might wish to say something at the ceremony even when not there physically.Martina found a web-based way to include those at a distance in an easy-to-use video platform that enables her to collect and combine video clips to create a group video tribute. She thus asks that anyone interested add a video using this link: https://app.memento.com/celebrating-the-life-of-dennis-kristof/SSHP8uP5nl/record Many thanks.Bill

  2. Yes, this is in NorCal. I've been to this dealer while traveling this area for work. Nice shop, nice people. When traveling, I always search for moto shops to visit! I always need another sticker and t-shirt.

  5. Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in anything. I'm not going to link or even capitalize proper nouns. If you're interested you will figure it out. I searched for "elk" and "elk grove" and found nothing. So here goes. I found elk grove power parts in January. They are a piaggiao dealer and had good prices on Guzzi parts. I ordered a bunch of stuff and waited. And waited. They say up front it happens on piaggio time. But if piaggio shows it as a good part number it will show up. And waited. I figured I'd get my money back if nothing else. Behold. Stuff finally showed up. New seat for under one fifty. New Ballabio brake and clutch hoses under a c-note each. New production lights and turn signals cheaper than you can buy used on ebay. There is still stuff back ordered but I figure they are the real deal. The first name of the special order parts man is bishop. He's been good to me and I will inform him of this post so he can check it out. That's all I got. God bless, go in peace cdr

  6. Yep. I really wanted to site mine ‘inboard’ but just could not wangle them in there. With the bodywork in place i can just about poke a driver down to nip up if required.

  10. Le mans has been repaired. Thanks everybody for the feedback and advice. Special thanks to docc for the technical support and for Scudd for sending me a new selector spring. I'm back on the road again and the gearbox works fine, for a guzzi. I hope for a long time now. Best regards. Marc, Belgium, Ypres

  13. Same thing happened to me and it looks like you bent your bracket too just like me.. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.... It's simple.. but can go VERY wrong if you are not careful.. 1. Look at your picture. You can clearly see where the lower bolt is just in the bracket, but should be going into the engine block as well. The head is just stuck there, the rest is still in the block. You can also see, that for that bolt to reach, that bracket needs to be bent back into shape. 2. Remove the Kickstand. It's just that one bit bolt now. DO NOT use the kickstand for leverage... Removing the stand from the bracket. If you have access to a table vice, you can bend this bracket back to a 90 degree angle. Do it slowly. Use a square to check for.... squareness.. If it breaks, it breaks and you're no worse off... but it should bend, it's kinda designed to. ( I should mention a disclaimer here I guess... MINE didn't break, I was able to bend it just fine). If you have a metal shop around and they can make it true again for a few bucks... do it.) 3. CAREFULLY remove the rest of the lower bolt that is still screwed into the block. There are lots of methods... my tact was to drill a tiny pilot hole into the bolt just large enough for my smallest Easy-Out to get in a grab it. 4. You don't want to damage the threads as there is not a lot to work with to re-tap it or heli-coil it... so you want to avoid that if possible. 5. Once the old bolt remnants are removed, hand fit your bracket back on making sure you bent it back into perfect shape so it sets flush on the engine and DO NOT FORGET THE LOWER SPACER. There is a spacer on the lower section between the bracket and the engine. As yours is missing, you'll have to measure and replace. You might use the bolts and adjust them finger tight to ensure perfect fit. I guess this is the point where I mention... you need to buy a new lower bolt. I forget what size it is, but you'll have the old one to take to the hardware store once you get it out... and you'll need that spacer too.. 6. Put it all back together. FWIW... A Sport Chock is a great thing to have. Just drive the bike on it, and it's upright. I only use my kickstand when I'm away from home, my bike it always in the chock. Kinda fun to just drive in and hop off.
