I had to look up @ildar's "auratium green." This makes total sense now!3 points

I really like these bikes, their Old School DNA is very similar to our beloved V11 Sports.2 points

Those above videos have a lot of information about the bike and the company. Worth watching. I am attracted to the looks of the Norton, but it's performance doesn't seem so great. I think buyers will be either speculating collectors, wealthy eccentrics, or die-hard Norton fans. I don't fit any of those categories so if I wanted another modern retro-styled cafe-ish bike, my money would go to (in order of preference): MV Augusta Superveloce Triumph Thruxton R A clean, unmodified Ducati Sport 1000 monoposto (I had one of those for a while and it was great fun... investment hindsight says I should have bought the Paul Smart version and stored it)2 points

Cut the rubber away from the underside with a small knife. After that, they should pop right out the top.2 points

Greenie’s now off the road for various autumnal jobs. Front fender has a crack that needs repairing, and the I’ll get it repainted along with the belly pan and the side panels. However the very small screws that hold the 2 pcs of the fender together are corroded, and despite soaking them in plus gas release fluid, gripping with long nosed pliers, the nuts just spin and I can’t release the screws. I’m unwilling to try grinding them off with a mini grinder in case of damaging the plastic im sure this is a very common problem, does anyone have suggestions about how to grip the small round threaded ‘nuts’ ?1 point

Pete, They are owned by India's TVS motorcycle company, who rebuilt their factory to improve quality. I think they are also honoring 28 orders from the previous company, so maybe their integrity and quality improved, time will tell. https://nortonmotorcycles.com/stories/tvs-announces-100m-investment-in-norton-motorcycles/1 point

Do a run Chuck. You need 10 minimum, right. So do at least 12. I'll buy the unclaimed ones and resell them at the same cost along with my "bustling" pawl spring business. I might tuck one away in case another V11 ever follows me home.1 point

Not sure who owns the Norton name, now. Reminds me of Indian (who finally found solid ground). But, you know, efforts like this make me ever-so-much-more proud of my V11 Sport and the continuous Mandello del Lario heritage.1 point

Thanks for keeping track, Docc.. I'm up to my ears in projects, but if there is enough interest I'll do one more run.1 point

There was a chopper at a custom bike gathering in Indy that had a frame made of log chain with the links welded together. (holding breath while talking) "Hey, man.. I just had this *great* idea.."1 point

Maybe a Dremel tool with a diamond blade could cut with enough precision to remove seized bits without damaging plastic? In the past I've cut seized bolts top down (bisecting nut in half) vs horizontally with good results.1 point

While I like most of these posts, I just went and saw Scott Bradlee's Post Modern Jukebox and was blown away!1 point

I mean, "I think" I get the seat inspiration. Except that it was probably just expedient and not actually "inspired" . . .1 point

Okay, how about "rubber well nut, expanding" or "insulating rivet nut" . . . https://www.mcmaster.com/rubber-well-nuts/1 point

Right. Spending about 70EUR for a small peace of steel is a bit steep. Spending about 70EUR for a shifting improvement of my V11 isn't. Sign me up please:)1 point

I mean, mySport has never run better. I guess I'll install a Genuine / P.Roper MotoModa ® plate "when the time comes." Maybe when the Genuine Joe Caruso® timing gears get mounted. Maybe replace the original valve cover gaskets . . . I am very proud that V11LeMans.com, and @Pressureangle in particular, has honored @pete roper's engineering/design contribution to this community.1 point

Nice video. A good thing to do once you have the plate installed is to drop the dipstick in the hole and mark it level with the bottom face of the Roper plate, remove and drill a 1.5mm hole in the dipstick as your new "full" mark. Ciao1 point

Admire your work. A six-speed V11 tranny is a thing of beauty. I only painted the rear case, because it was peeling badly. How long are you supposed to wait to put oil in? Read the directions on your adhesive. Then put the tranny in and go riding (some other steps required). I swore I was gonna remember to attach the ground cable to the tranny... but I didn't. Shoulda put the cable with all my other stuff on the table. Now I have to pull one of the bolts out and re-torque it over the cable (after scraping the paint off that spot).1 point

Ok, one comment, do the guy think this was one successful cafe racer for cheep $ . Cheers Tom.0 points

So that poor thing may have started life as a Ballabio. But the list of "improvements" seems to include: undersized pods, a V7 tank, removal of fenders, and a custom-fabricated rebar subframe for the seat. Look closely, the damn thing is actually made from welded rebar. Nice Joe Kenny headguards though.0 points
