  1. I make it a rule to use strapping to secure from tip-over. (Don't ask me why this went from a suggestion to a rule . . . )

  2. I made a cradle for under the oil pan which more than doubles the the stability, and a strap to the ceiling.

  3. Here's my 98, it's a nothing video just a start and idle but let's you guys take a look. Given me a lot of headaches, now sorted about much as I can sort it. Still runs hot and you'd better not get caught with it in traffic or it'll cook (you and the bike). Out on the road though it's great fun, it encourages you to rev it, I'm normally running it at 5k and above because that's where it seems happiest and noise is great The Australia 98s had the Daytona RS engine (hence the heat due to the stupid cam only fitted to the RS lumps), a beam frame, similar to Guzzi's (the 92s had a tubular frame more akin to Tontis) and Paioli forks replacing the Forcelle Italia on the 92s

  4. I hesitated to stop for a pic on the even-more-remote single lane bridge I took to the north side of the river . . . There was even a new road in the mix today I had never been on to get to that remote single lane bridge. Always a concern about stumbling onto scary company on these backroads . . .

  10. Just what I do, so others may have a different opinion, but all I use is either some blocks of wood or a wide jack something like this If supporting the gearbox as well, I just stuck a scissors jack underneath it Stein Dinse (and probably a lot of others) have specific stands, but I've just never found them necessary https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?language=en&products_id=686#prettyPhoto

  11. I saw it already but it's a great video and what a symphony!!! It's also worth looking at his other videos some truly splendid bikes with some background on them including some other Guzzis. I know that bike and its previous owner who had it for a long time. It's in first class condition and the PO is very meticulous in caring for his bikes. It's an Australia 92, with the standard Daytona engine, but that particular engine has been upgraded to a "B" kit, its also got some other goodies including a spacer that incorporates an oil cooler with temp and pressure gauge plus Caruso oil pump with steel oil pump and service shaft gears. There was a later run of Australias made in 98 and they were different in quite a few ways, though you might not notice at first glance

  13. I have been wanting a Guzzi for years, so 18 months ago when one came up cheap via a friend I couldn't resist. It had sat unloved for a long time, meant to be a runner but just needed a battery. Needless to say, whilst it maybe a runner there are many bits that need fixing, seized brakes, the fuel lines have perished and leaked. I haven't had time so it has sat in the workshop waiting for much needed TLC. Bike needs stripping down, cleaning up parts - including repairing the rear sub frame that somebody attacked with an angle grinder - and putting back together. Ideally, I would like to jack the bike up by the engine - and with the engine supported strip it down. As I am new to Guzzi's is there an engine cradle/stand available that will sit on a scissor table, or is it a case of make my own?

  16. Yes , Very similar indeed. The new V100 has many possibilities, maybe an optional sport package with full lower fairing, drop bars and rear seat cowl.

  21. Lovely LeMans. And that Norge looks positively sporty in red with gold wheels, and sans bags. BTW - the thread title say no words, but this thread started a long time ago, and there have been more words than pictures from the start.

  24. Rare images from South'n SpineRaid Three/ 2007 . . . How gorgeous is this?

  25. This South'n SpineRaid exhibited the classic elements that are the formula for success and delight. Nothing can happen, in the least, unless you "Get There." Ride a Griso? Bring a LoopFrame? A Honda? Come late? Bring a friend? Okay to trailer? As long as you get there! Lots of ways to "get there." Three Sports to the wind? Check! And "Get There" was not lost on these cool cats (what a sight!!) : "Get There."

  34. That's a beautiful photo! Yet, it rather over-represents the visibility at 5,000 feet! Fabulous time and great roads! In brief: 20 riders on 19 bikes from 5 states. Eight Moto Guzzi ( five Spines), 2 KTM, 3 BMW, a stunning Ducati, equally stunning Aprilia (JRD!), 2 Triumphs, a Kawi with cf wheels, and a Honda. Three of the four Spine Raiders from the inaugural event in 2004 were present with two of the original bikes showing over 200,000 miles (Perfesser York's LeMans leading the world at some 114,000 on the original Veglia!)
