My Sport has passed the 22 year ownership point, nearly 128,000 miles/ 206.000 km Needless to say I have sourced some parts. On another recent thread I listed a few of my current sources and said that I had parts on the way from six of them: MGCycle (Wisconsin, USA), CadreCycle (Ohio, USA), TLM (Teo LaMers, Nederlands), Agostini (Mandello del Lario, Italy), Harpers (Missouri, USA), Stein-Dinse (Germany), "ebay", "Amazon", and so many others . . . Not the least of which are the generous members of this fine V11LeMans.com community. You folks rock! Three or four years ago, a South'n SpineRaider handed me white face, Veglia tachometer and said, "Pretty sure you will find a home for this." Last year it got mounted to a member's LeMans. Several years ago, I got a PM from a member who said he had sold his V11, but wanted to send me his spares pile. I've been handing them out ever since. Recently, I was reminded that AliExpress (Chinese "amazon"?) is a resource, as well. When we find alternative sources for specific parts, please post in @Scud's Encyclopedia of Compatible Parts. Otherwise, I just wish to report that parts, spares, and alternative sources remain available. No V11 should be laid-up for lack of functional parts. Having the Parts Catalog listings/part numbers for your exact application, and knowing how to search specific source sites, along with exactly what to order is, perhaps, the greatest challenge.11 points

Since my 'Sport has passed the 25 year mark, and with the real risks obviated by the wreck on the way home from the SSR, I've started acquiring spare parts that I otherwise would not have, even though my hope and expectation is that in 20 years they'll still be collecting dust on the shelf. BTW the 1100 Sport facebook group just posted a Kentucky Carb Sport for sale, looking for venues and values. If I had the garage space I'd buy the whole thing.3 points

@FreyZI , how's the production going? If not a worry I'll take the 2 you got. Im not worried about weave. If it's somewhat close Im more than happy. That stuff never matched from the factory anyway. I have a Scura and a LeMans with Rosso Mandello carbon parked side by side. Different weave, different finish..2 points

Thank you for all of the replies. I'm not looking for a service stand, but a standard center-stand. I may end up making the rear rack as I want a small backrest for the wife when riding two-up. But the center stand is a bit more than I'd like to fabricate. I guess I'll keep my eyes open. I travel to the Adriatic area nearly every year so maybe something will be discovered in my travels.1 point

I just got back from vacation. I saw a comedy show with Steve Martin and Martin Short. Most of you know that Steve plays banjo. This group accompanied him. I wouldn't really call it bluegrass as much as jazz+ banjo. The show was funny as you can imagine. These guys are worth a listen too. Allison Brown and Fair Weather Friends1 point

I've never used any of the other companies mentioned, but while reading through the PP saga, I did learn that Venmo is apparently owned by PP, fwiw. I'm trying to cancel my PP account, it's a work in progress. Most large corporations, financial institutions and unfortunately gov'ts, have made the choice to hide the truth on their real agenda, and are targeting our lives in a variety of ways. The currency & financial systems are imploding. My gov't sold off our gold reserves and brought in Bank Bail In Regime Legislation, leaving me extremely vulnerable, I know Australia has similar legislation, not sure about the US; inform yourself, there are those in the world who have their sights on taking what many of us have worked hard for a life time to attain. A big part of this agenda, depends on hiding the truth and silencing truth tellers. One of the last news agencies with any type of real integrity reporting truth is The Expose in UK, PP defunded them trying to bankrupt & silence them quite a while ago. Now PP has tipped their hand that they were going after individuals who may happen to be critical thinkers. Once I became vocal about voicing truths on social media, I have been shadow banned & silenced for quite some time. The people running the world are running the media, truth is sorely lacking. I'll step away from this mine field, with one last quote from Malcolm X. "If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing"1 point

Sounds like the Teo Lamers stand. Not badly made, but somewhat poorly designed. The stand's legs are too short and the pivot point is too low such that the stand is probably 30ยบ from vertical when you must lever it up over center. Seeing the space beneath the rear tire once the stand was deployed, I too came to the conclusion that placing a board (6X2/2X6) behind the rear tire then rolling the bike onto the board allowed the stand to touch earth much closer to vertical. At that point, balancing it all is a bit delicate, but rocking it onto the stand is then much easier. The fix would be to make the legs about 2" longer and raise the pivot point an equal amount.1 point

I have owned a few bikes with center stands. The Lario has one as we speak. Most of the time I never really had much use for it. If I need the rear tire off the ground the bike is usually in my garage, and then I can just use a rear stand.1 point

I get preferring ICE motorcycles. But fire is not a very good reason, ICE vehicles, including motorcycles, are far more likely to burn than an EV. I have watched plenty motorcycles burn to the ground. Not one of them was EV powered. Can an electric vehicle burn ? Sure. But it is a rarer event than an internal combustion powered vehicle burning. If you want to hate EV's, hate them for real issues, like lack of range, time to recharge, and cost. But fire is a lame reason to hate them. A gasoline powered motorcycle is way more likely to burn than an electric motorcycle. Personally, I would love an electric motorcycle. An electric dualsport would be awesome. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy internal combustion motorcycles. They are great. But they are destined to go the way of the doodo bird. They are unsustainable in the bigger picture. So enjoy them while we can.1 point

Do you mean the V85TT? The Stelvio was discontinued. I think last year of production was 2017, which is the year I have. And mine is a fine machine. Today, it passed through Pauma Valley via a couple dirt roads. Then filled up with 25 pounds of oranges, 20 pounds of ruby red grapefruit, Mexican mangos, Reed Avocados, passion fruit, and a bit of ginger. All that in the saddlebags and top case with room to spare. So I had a back road, fruit stand adventure.1 point

They'd never be able to make competitive 'Modern' power with an OHV set up. The reason the TB/s are central and the exhausts exit on the outer edges of the heads you can tell it's a DOHC set-up as the cams have to run in the same plane as the crank. if you look at the Caponord 1200 motor you can see a lot of similarities. I can't do photo's here, I always forget how, but if you look at a Caponord engine in the parts list you can see where the idler gear shaft I and then the two camshafts under the head cover. It's standard Piaggio/Aprilia design and mimics a lot of the engineering in the Rotax motors used in the RSV twins. I'm looking forward to seeing what else is in the motive unit. People we're always wingeing that the Gen 2 Hi-Cam *Only* made 100hp. I always found it amazing that it did! It's a very compromised design but it will make 100 rear wheel ponies and not a lot more, no matter what people claim. To get serious HP and meet E5 a DOHC and water cooled powerplant was the only way forward. Unfortunately the forced adoption of OBD II protocols spells the death knell of remapping by aftermarket sources and home tuning. From here on in we're at the mercy of the manufacturers. Bring on the E bikes and whatever comes after them and let's stand at the stern rail and wave our handkerchiefs in farewell to dirty old fossil fuels! Our grandchildren will thank us.......1 point

It's interesting that there are already two prototypes. Note that you can't see an obvious exhaust in the picture above while in the 'Spy' pics one is clearly visible on the left of the bike. The heads haven't been 'Turned', it's just the only real way to run a DOHC system if you keep the longitudinal crank. You could keep it 'Conventional' by driving the cams with bevel towers I suppose but it would be hellishly complex, sap more power and be heavier.1 point
