  3. Spotted a drip on the floor from the Rosso Corsa 1 month ago, WHAT. Happened to be the same, 1 a bit loose, 2nd just needed a touch. I'l keep an eye on it. Cheers Tom.

  4. I recently tightened the two lower trans bolts when I discovered some oil in the area; they were surprisingly loose. I do not want to do this, well documented thanks to @Scud, repair.

  5. Possibly your rear brake caliper not releasing promptly after applying before the turn. I just rebuilt mine for a similar issue.

  6. If I understand the factory 1100 Sport-i ECU correctly, the TPS value is intended to reflect a specific throttle blade position, which guarantees that the fuel map and the airflow match up correctly. If that's the case, idle speed needs the separate adjustment of air screws. I'm not familiar enough to make intelligent comment beyond that.

  8. Looks clean and neat with super low mileage...too far from me though. https://asheville.craigslist.org/mcd/d/jonesborough-2001-moto-guzzi-11-sport/7559180742.html

  9. What do your tires look like? What's the air pressure. I rode a Griso that wouldn't turn, then fell quickly and then wouldn't turn all at the same curve.....Bad tires.

  10. When I saved Rosie the Rosso, the rear brake disc was blue and sounded like a gun went off when I removed it. Need I say it had been dragging a bit? My guess is the brake line was routed incorrectly too near the exhaust and the heat pressurized the line. That is only a guess, of course. A new rotor, caliper rebuild, and rerouted brake line fixed it at any rate.

  11. Hey 4corsa... Any idea why the caliper was hanging up? slid pin froze? Piston stuck? Is the piston metal? Does the caliper piston have a dust boot? Corrosion in side caliper bore? Other...master cylinder piston not fully retracting/restricted port? I really don't know too much about the brakes on my Lemans but was wondering about what you found. Nor do I have any brake problems...yet. I'm hoping routine fluid changes will keep me out of trouble. Thanks, Art

  12. Thanks for the description docc. I'm going to work on this again over the long weekend. It was 17 F this morning here so I have not gone out to the garage to fine tune the shifter.

  13. Thanks. I didn't see it. Probably was doing five things at once, as usual . . . edit: Yep, there it is:

  14. Joe's post is still on the classified from September I see. Except the asking price is much lower now.

  15. This recall replaced #16 (2 parts, not including the washer stack/18): And #2 in this image ( 2 parts): Cross post to the Service Announcement and specific parts involved (the washer stack was not involved):

  16. Sorry for the redundancy. I found this bike indirectly through Joe by accident, and coincidence. Joe posted about that greenie for sale in WA on CL, and I searched for the ad again. I entered CL Tri Cities, where it was advertised on, and Tri Cities TE came up and there it was. Who knew that two low milage same year V11's would come up for sale...one in WA, one in TE, both with the Tri Cities moniker. I spoke to both owners and have both VIN's if they are wanted by anybody. If I remember correctly neither one had warranty work done, or at least work that was recorded.

  17. Yes the TPS on my 1100 sport looks the same as my V11 sport.

  19. I recall we gave this Sport some good reviews before. Other than the Rizoma bars (which necessitated drilling the top triple clamp), aftermarket horns, an auxiliary tail light, and Staintune canisters, it looks very original. Down to the fuel evap canisters still in the tool tray. There are what appears to be Bosch relays in the right places and a rather rare Stucchi rear rack. It does appear to be missing the eagle badge from the right Frame Side Plate. Just to remind us to pay attention to ours . . .

  20. +1 on what Weegie said about the air bleeds being "insignificant . . . at any significant throttle opening." In other words, do not expect them to change the rich/lean (AFR) condition. This is the function of the "map" in the ECU.

  22. What I do is, first, service and adjust/shim the pivot assembly, then position the pedal lever where it will just clear the Frame Side Plate on the downstroke (in every gear as it seems the travel is greater in certain downshifts), then position the gearbox arm on the shaft splines (remove the pinch bolt and pull the arm off to reposition) where the arm is parallel to the shift extender when the lever is in the "relaxed"/ready position. Adjust the connector rod length accordingly.

  23. ...and why to verify your source; these are not 'Chinese copies' these are *Counterfeit* in Bosch packaging, 'made in Germany'. I once ran across a Chinese website advertising counterfeit name-brand packaging. I had a cousin in Customs and Immigration who clued me in to how bad counterfeiting is in the U.S. market.

  25. Enjoying myself with the 1164ccm, rear part cleared. CF fender and a homemade protection plate fitted. Woud anybody know what fork holders are mounted? Moving forward on the bike. And what was inside the tranny when doing the Chuck spring [emoji85]. None of the metal parts, bits was hardened, gears undamaged The ss bolt, how the H ? Tranny worked fine, but she was charging 18V, so not many km this season. Beliveing tranny had plenty of Molycote, took some to clean the level glass. Taking care of that in hibernation time, and will she come back to a Greenie? Cheers Tom. Sent fra min SM-A525F via Tapatalk

  26. And a gobsmacking and entertaining virtual tour of the Elk Grove showroom on their website. Chockablock full. A testimonial to the low bar my entertainment expectations reside in. We ain't got places like that here in Connecticut. A vicarious joy.

  27. Okay, yes: #16 = 04211201001 "Flexible coupling hose kit " (2 parts, not the washer stack/#18) And two "Sliding Sleeves" (#2 in this diagram):

  28. Make SURE you have EVERY bolt out of the pan before you try removing the pan . Get under the bike and verify all the bolts/capscrews or whatever you want to call them are out of the pan .

  30. I’m 57, married to the same wonderful woman for 33 years and have 4 grown kids who are the most important thing in the world to me. I’ve always loved motorcycling. My uncle had a Honda 650 with a custom flame painted gas tank and we used to sit on it in his garage. Loved that. My step dad had a 72 Suzuki 380 with Ram Air. I used to pop out the key cylinder with a screwdriver and take it on joy rides when my folks were not home. I fell in love with Italian motorcycles when, in 1974, I saw a red Laverda at the beach. That sealed the deal! I did a lot of traveling around the world in the early 80’s, then had kids, so no bikes. I finally was able to get my own bike in 96, a 92 Kawasaki Zephyr 750. Later on I had Kawi a Vulcan 800 and 1500. Then a Yamaha Stratoliner 1900 Deluxe. I wanted to move back towards. Better performance and less weight, so I got a Triumph Tiger 1050. Loved that bike! Traded that in for my current 2015 Aprilia Caponord 1200 Travel and now, after years of patient desire, I also own a 2004 V11 Sport Naked. Other things? I’m an Anglican Priest who begs or mercy when I go to fast!

  31. No, I pulled the injectors and had them tested, cleaned and retested. It did make a difference. Still taking the injectors off wasn't pretty as I had to dremel one of the flat head allens out. just a couple of hours of careful drilling I replaced the flat heads with allens that use a much bigger key.

  32. Admire your work. A six-speed V11 tranny is a thing of beauty. I only painted the rear case, because it was peeling badly. How long are you supposed to wait to put oil in? Read the directions on your adhesive. Then put the tranny in and go riding (some other steps required). I swore I was gonna remember to attach the ground cable to the tranny... but I didn't. Shoulda put the cable with all my other stuff on the table. Now I have to pull one of the bolts out and re-torque it over the cable (after scraping the paint off that spot).

  33. It's a little late in the season for wooly worms but I hit one with my front tire in a similar turn and it brought me down immediately. Like hitting a teaspoon of grease just right.
