  1. Glad to hear it is working out well. Suspension setting are almost always a compromise. It is hard to get one setting that works everywhere. But at least now when you turn the adjuster it makes a difference. That is a major upgrade in my opinion. And I also agree with Pressureangle, getting spring rates right is a fundamental aspect of suspension tuning. and setting your sag should give you an idea of how close your spring rates are. That process has been discussed fairly extensively here, but if anyone wants to dig into that can of worms just let me know.

  2. I realized the other day, I still have an elk heart in the freezer, which I like to cut into thin strips, soak in whiskey and make jerky.

  3. I'll probably do my version of that. I have a length of 1" braided nylon line that I loop around the fork head tree on my Ducati and attach it to a come along attached to barn truss. When the bike is on the center stand I can pull the front end up for a tire change. No center stand on the V11, but the BT will do the job of that. I have Pit Bull stands, but it's nicer working with nothing in your way.

  4. Also got the order in from Stein Dinse for the Becker Technik stand. This seems like the best way for a rear tire change.

  6. I put a Dayco 80413 heater hose on my Scura in 2017. Been on there since and still looks good. The late arriving Guzzi part is in the spares box, waiting, waiting.

  7. When I was a teenager on the south side of Chicago in the 60's I used to go to a couple great black owned BBQ shops there .. They had the best Hot deep fried Chicken Gizzards and Chicken livers crispy and spicy hot as hell..you could buy a small bag, enough for lunch for a couple bucks..made to order. I cant eat that stuff now.

  8. Cheese curds are the beginnings of cheese. They are what you think they are, a result of separating the curds and whey. Then, in most cases, they undergo additional processing to make various kinds of cheese. But you can eat them as they are. They have less flavor typically then the cheeses that would be made from them. But they taste fine as is. In a way they are like concentrated milk. I love meat, but am not much for the various organs and other parts of an animal that aren't "meat". But certainly if I have to eat stuff like that it is better to have more spices involved, rather then less.

  9. I use it for the front tire and fork work too. It holds the bike upright from the rear and while using ratchet straps from handlebars to rafters, I use a padded floor or scissors jack under the front of the sump. It seems sketchy at first but with tight "splayed" straps I feel safe with it. Don't know what a new Becker Technik comes with but I use an 18" - half inch drive breaker bar in the jack arm. From the side stand I can hold the handlebars with both hands and operate the jack with my foot. It's an awkward dance till you sort it out. If you chock the front tire first there's no balance problems at all.

  10. I haven't received my injectors back for install and testing yet, but I got the report back from Injector RX. Although I didn't have any 'symptoms' from poor fueling, I'm sure there'll be a noticeable improvement in smoothness from equalizing vacuum and therefore throttle balance, as well as better throttle response and top end power (a little). A 10% difference at WOT is huge. I'm impressed and pleased with their reporting. $46.00 including return postage, so about $55 round trip.

  11. My methodology for setting street suspension is this; 1st, set ride height and sag. I like 1/2" front and 1/2-1" rear. Front is difficult to change, so 1/2" to 1" is ok. Spring rate is more important. 2nd, set compression F & R on flat straight roads with the sort of surface you want it to work on. 3rd, set rebound on curvy bits with increasing speed until you get where you want to be. There's no perfect setting for public roads, but it's good to know what you prefer in certain places. I keep mine pretty soft normally, but tighten it up significantly for the SSR because the roads are nearly flawless and very slow where the work is hardest.

  12. Mine busted off of the motor while rolling down the freeway. Ran all over the rear of the bike, exhausts and rear tire sidewalls. Fortunately, it didn't drip onto the center tread of the tire. The smoke cloud was so bad, that a cop saw it from 2 miles away and stopped to see if it was OK.

  13. Note on my report that they show my injectors as IW 091. I called and they said they read that number from the injector body; it could be a typo but he's asked that I send a picture to verify when they arrive, for clarification. The flow numbers on the report align with the IW-031 published figures and I can't find reference to any IW-091. Stay tuned for academic, incidental drama.
