If you are sure you can get them just right, do it. I don't think lowered pegs are that big of a critical issue. For me I don't see a reason to go with lowered pegs, and that is including the fact that my knees are pretty F'd up. The difference between the pegs as they are and the "lowered" pegs is minor. I can't see where having my feet an inch lower would make any difference. And being able to adjust them is also minor. The amount of adjustability in them is very limited. The difference in lost ground clearance is going to be larger than the difference in comfort. But if it is something you want, and you feel those chinese pegs will allow you to get it just right, do it. Personally my motorcycles are my babies, and I avoid putting cheap parts on them. If I am going to upgrade them I do it with high quality parts. I don't try to pinch pennies when it comes to my motorcycles. If I do need an upgraded part, I buy the best quality I can find. Also, having a metal peg with a rubber insert like that seems silly. If the rubber insert isn't covering the metal peg there is no point to it as the vibrations would come through the metal to boot contact. Either have rubber covered pegs or have metal pegs. That half and half idea doesn't make sense to me. But you do you.

A 2001 V11 Sport is almost 22 yrs old, what example can’t be picked apart with various issues or complaints at this point. The price per the overall condition of this bike is cheap by today’s (inflation weak dollar) standards.

I texted with him and said I was mildly interested, got a pretty terse answer. When I asked about the recall he said “that’s all bullshit” and went on to say I was wasting his time. He didn’t sound very interested in making a sales pitch. I lost all interest then.

No one has mentioned it yet, so here I am: you mentioned in another post, that "it stood like that for a long time". So: don't discount the possibilty that the master cylinder might not be intact anymore. If it's not pumping, you'll never get a pressure point. Regarding strapping up the lever overnight: I've had success with that on a Kawasaki GTR 1000. The magic is not only that the lever ist clamped "behind" the return hole. The pressure reduces the size of any air bubbles that might be in there, and thus they have a better chance of wandering upwards overnight and (hopefully) exiting the system. I.e. this really does work, when the problem is such that it can be addressed this way.

@Scud I will definitely visit, sometime soon. I'd driven my bike to work about ten times now, each a 40 mile round trip. Each day, I repair, adjust, or observe something new. Today, I lost two of the three screws that hold the exhaust tip into the silencer. A lunch run to the hardware store should get me home, then I'll apply some lock-tight. As for the speedo, I read extensively many of the threads on the forum. In addition, searched online extensively for choices. Since my cable and drive work, I'm going to take the cable into Autozone, just for the hell of it, and see if it fits any of the cable driven speedos they stock. If it can be made to fit, I'll go that way. If not, I'll attempt to have Joel Levine fix what I have, and hope for a long life. I know, I know, This means I'll be adding Speedhut a few years from now.

The only complaint I have with the Speedhut speedo is that the trip meter numbers are so small. My old man eyes cannot read the trip meter while riding. They are a bit time consuming to install properly in the stock gauge cups, but several of us have done so with some variation in methods (I think all documented in the previously posted link.) If you swing by, I can show you the Speedhuts on my Nero Corsa - and I think I have a set of functional gauges in a drawer if you want to take a look at those before pulling yours out.

Never heard from the guy after the bike was picked up... nothing, nada. The shipping guy was touring around the country picking up other bikes for this guy... I think he was in the PNW or Vancouver, BC.

Took my girlfriend to hear Peter Tosh (from Bob Marley) when he came to town many moons ago on his tour featuring his version of johnny b goode. She was a fine young catholic girl, easily surprised when all the lights went out, by design, to just highlight the single spark/red glow on the stage, and how the crowd went wild…

My two cents: the text in the ad says "Tosser" to me, but maybe that's got to do with me not living in the U.S. Going by the wear pattern on the tyres, the current owner has never, ever given the bike a caning. If he's the first owner, the bike has probably had an "easy" life. The biggest dangers are probably either too much riding around at too low revs, and too much time spent just standing around in a shed somewhere and not being ridden.
