  1. The ground wire from the battery to the transmission bolt is the forum original 'service this ground first' point. Cleaned and sanded and de-ox'd. I then took another wire, same gauge, from that bolt forward to the frame about mid way with the same 'treatment' at connections. From there, same gauge wire forward to the r/r case. Overkill maybe... I do that

  3. On a more serious note: I don't know for sure that this works with the "big block" Guzzis, but it is in the workshop manual for my "small block" V35 Imola. The constuction is similar enough that I reckon it should work. Undo all the bolts to the gearbox, and then pull the clutch in. On mine, the gearbox then pops off a bit, and you can pull it off without too much bother. Hope that helps. If it is still reluctant, hold a block of wood against the housing and persuade it a bit with a hammer against the wood block. Work your way around, and it should come off.

  4. Don't drop it on your foot. I hope you find the problem quickly, and that it is not too dramatic.

  7. With the driveshaft? It is aligned correctly isn't it? While a misaligned driveshaft itself won't cause the wheel to lock the forces imposed by the trunnions not being correctly aligned is certainly enough to bust stuff up.

  10. G'day I had a couple of issues like this early in the piece... Brad (mechanic) replaced the reg/rec with a Shendengan Mosfet jobbie and earthed it to the frame and no issues in 10 or more years. Still carry spare fuses but touch wood, haven't needed them! No idea what gauge the wire is though. Cheers Ps hope I haven't woken the infamous electrical demon for having dared mention this....

  11. Pop it in a box and send it to us if it is the gearbox. It shouldn't cost a huge amount and we have all the necessary tools.

  12. Yeah. I was just curious. When the box is correctly in neutral, the input and output shafts should be disengaged from each other. So if the obstruction is before the box, it shouldn't be locking up the output shaft when the box is in neutral, I would have thought.

  13. Whatever it is the gearbox is going to have to come out and I'm betting the flywheel will be the culprit.

  14. "That's what I'm talking about" Run your eye down the "Current Gauge Attributes" Does any other company offer that flexibility, I don't think so! Chamberlin has done all the hard work on the logo for you. Scud, don't get me wrong, I like yours too, mine are somewhere in between with a cheaper pulse input speedo. The only thing I would do differently is have the reset buttons rear plug in type, the tacho one is only required for initial setup.
