Danke sehr Meinolf and Docc...you are both 100% right (as usual!). The learning continues here in the well illuminated Houston garage! Indeed, late last night I was able to loosen the right hand high idle screw and sure enough that enabled the throttle body to close completely...so when I read the voltmeter again it was then sitting at approx 0.100 less than before when I thought it was fully closed. Reset everything to 0.157mv, snapped it a few times, came back to 0.157 and at WOT was registering 4.78...so that's a good sign! I proceeded a few more steps, got it started again (it did sound smoother) but it struggles to idle without some inputs. After getting it to stabilize and warm up I checked again the CO Trim, sitting at +20, so that seems fine (maybe I should try +26), air bleed screws are 1 full turn out, high idle screw is just "nudging" the cam, and both LH and RH idle screws are not touching (0.02 feeler guage slips in just fine). Will get at it again this afternoon at a break. So much fun!!3 points

Hi, 350mV is in the range you would see if the TPS is not fully closed. If it ran well with this setting and not so after changing to 157mV then my guess is that you did not remove all the stops keeping the TPS from being fully closed. Much success in resolving the bug. Cheers Meinolf2 points

Ok, I have been on the receiving end of criticism on this forum, many years ago, for the price I was asking for a V11 on CL. I haven't seen that member post for a very long time, but I've since tried to avoid "scrutinizing" someone else's sale. Even on ebay, cl, etc as they might be a current or future forum member. So I tend to keep my mouth shut even when obvious misrepresentations occur. But, when another currently active member shows interest in an "unknown" advertised bike, I think it behooves us to point out "curiosities" in a tactful way. Tact is not a strong point of mine but I do try. It might be a great buy. Hopefully whomever ends up as the owner will add it, and themselves, to "we few, we happy few."2 points

As much as I agree with not saying anything if you have nothing nice to say... There are some bold claims in that there ad! Not sure why they felt the need to go all CAPS, but more so I had to laugh at the below claim: THE MOTO GUZZI ENGINE IS KNOWN FOR LONGEVITY AND WILL NEVER GIVE ANY TROUBLE. Maybe he will provide a warranty since it'll NEVER break...2 points

I couldn’t say if it diffuses Shell Rotella, but I’ve often thought about climbing inside with a V11 to see if it’ll help arrest my own aging, and help with my preservation1 point

Guzzimax- Hyperbaric oxygen system for V11 Sports Where do you buy such a device? Does it diffuse Shell Rotella? Last question, where can I buy one?1 point

What’s with the seat off, croc clips on the battery terminals, and charger connected. Attach an Optimate connector to your battery & plug in. Saves faffing around removing the seat. It’s been -4 deg C for the past 10 days, roads are awash with salt and grunge, I haven’t rolled any bikes out of the garage since mid November. Spring can’t come soon enough Even have the silver Sport tucked away in a Bike bubble1 point

Thanks Gstallons…I have your write up as well as a reference! Fully aligned on the 0.157 as the TPS volt reading with the throttle plate fully closed. That’s done now!1 point

I can't remember the base v but, the 0.157v is the # you want to adjust the throttle plate to from fully closed. IDK how to find this procedure I posted here some time ago. I do remember , EVERY step is critical and you follow EVERY step to a T. I hate getting old ! I can remember an event at 1 1/2 yrs.old , the 1st day of school. all my 1sts. but I cain't remember where I laid my car keys.1 point

I found it curious that we, collectively, suspended our usual nut&bolt scrutineering for the listing of the, otherwise, very nice silver Sport whilst directing all interest to the accompanying model. Pretty sure the attention-getting tactic did not play out well for showing the Sport . . .1 point

Let's face it, we are a very tough audience for any V11 offered for sale. The term "scrutineering" comes to mind. Beyond which, our sense of value of our personal V11 treasures can be, er, skewed by potentially clinical overlay . . .1 point

Now, this potential issue is noted in the Decent Tune-up, IIRC, but make certain the TPS is not fouled (or too close) by the fuel return line/hose and its clamp the regulator. The TPS is engine mounted while the regulator is frame mounted, so a bit a clearance between is desirable . . . I hope this solution still qualifies: "If this solves it...let me know where to send a bottle of your choice of fine liquor! "1 point

Hi guys! How are you? Things have definitely improved but not everything, as we can see. My Guzzis, driven by the V11, are doing great and are always growing in Number 🙂 ... The V11 Scura, after about 85,000km, begins to show some ailments but nothing irreparable. As soon as I can, I change the gear clip, restore the front fork and replace a front disc (which has gotten into play...)... In the meantime I've found another girlfriend, a redheaded milf 😅 that a friend wanted to give me with only 57,000km. The coming season will see me circulating with many Moto Guzzis, one more beautiful than the other, always hoping to meet along the way!1 point
