  1. this video does justice to… imo probably Dylan’s greatest song ever weeping for mankind most not yet awake

  2. I've done this job several times, simply relying on feel for that torque value. All you need is enough tension to stop the pin from backing out.

  3. Is this the Fast bike located in Henderson NC ? If the same guys are still working it they were top notch. the guy that started it worked for road race teams since he was a teenager.Maybe 1 or 2 of the guys came from Ohlins located in the same town. Now would be the time because once late spring gets here they will more than likely be going to the races. They had to turn me down last year because of there race schedule. They recommended GMD Computrac in Fairmont GA. I was pleased with the result even though it was a tad expensive. I took the forks and the shock to them. New seals- oil- bushings- and something broken on the rear shock adjuster.

  5. Frustrating. Nothing pops out at me. Can you go through the current symptoms, to clear the air as to status? I'm leaning towards an electrical issue, whether ignition or fuel. I'd remake all the grounds, special care to ECU and any grounds on painted surfaces. Not impossible to have an unfortunate concurrent but unrelated issue, like a failing cam sensor.

  6. Try checking your TPS mV (again) with the throttle plate zip-tied firmly closed (and all of the stop points relieved). Still 157 mV? Stays 157 mV once tightened down? Remember, the TPS baseline indexes the Fuel/Ignition mapping. TPS out of spec = map out order = potentially dramatic (or annoying) changes in running behavior.

  7. Truly a legendary song. Not a bad guitarist, either. Not to mention the drummer and the bass player.

  8. Coming up next Saturday in Cincinnati is the custom & modified build bike show held, for free ( threw that in for the suspender snapping Guzzista’s ) at the Rhinegeist Brewery, Cincinnati. It’s a reason for me to get out the house & dream of warm days to come. And maybe drink a beer 😁 & see a friend or two https://garagebrewed.com

  9. I took mine (front and rear) to my local Ducati shop. Their chief tech was Ohlins schooled, as you might imagine with so many Duc models running the kit. My rear was 225 iirc. For suspension assurances, it was worth it to me to let a pro do it.

  11. You are right. That means I might have to rely on my gut feeling in this case. That is unless someone will clarify his/her experience on this topic.

  12. Lindemann Engineering is indeed still (or back) in business, run by a friend that picked up the business after Jim's passing: Lindemann Engineering Race Suspension - Lindemann Engineering (le-suspension.com) They quoted similar pricing for the work.

  13. Thanks again Docc…Yup I did that again as well this morning before our session with GStallons and still sitting at 0.157 fully closed and all items disconnected, high idle screw loosened and not touching the idle cam, and 4.78 at WOT.

  14. Spent a good hour with GStallons today, we made some good progress, and the bike will idle stably now, but anything beyond that and it's still not operating well. After our session today, I did check the resistance on my original black plug wires and one is at 4.50 and one at 5.00. They are only a couple of years old as well. I also tried one of my new red NGK plug wires that I had made a while back, and both of those have similar resistance at 5.10, so as far as I can tell, with checking the wire resistance by themselves and also while hooked up to the coil (testing ground on the coil and positive end at the end of the plug wire), I'm not seeing any major discrepancy... Now I'm wondering did one of my ignition coils possibly go bad...in all of this work with the TPS...seems unlikely but who knows at this point. Spark plugs look good, still nice and brown, not sooty after letting it idle for about 1/2 hour today (with fan on!). I may have to rip the tank off and methodically check for any blockage in tubing anywhere or anything may have become disconnected...frankly I'm just mystified how this TPS can cause such a change in running behavior, but I guess the bike is very sensitive. Thankfully my CARC bikes don't have this setup...they're much easier to set electronically and balance the throttle bodies.

  15. That's a very nice read. Doesn't apply to the aforementioned first bike, though. That was a 1983 Suzuki GSX 250 E. Very boring bike: everything on it just worked. Properly.

  17. That would make me suspicious of a damaged ignition wire, spark plug cap/resistor, or the connection between them . . .

  18. Hi guys! How are you? Things have definitely improved but not everything, as we can see. My Guzzis, driven by the V11, are doing great and are always growing in Number 🙂 ... The V11 Scura, after about 85,000km, begins to show some ailments but nothing irreparable. As soon as I can, I change the gear clip, restore the front fork and replace a front disc (which has gotten into play...)... In the meantime I've found another girlfriend, a redheaded milf 😅 that a friend wanted to give me with only 57,000km. The coming season will see me circulating with many Moto Guzzis, one more beautiful than the other, always hoping to meet along the way!
