  1. Alright, she doesn't just live on that dais with the footlights . . . I love these old train stations. Makes me feel kind of bold and enduring to be stopping by with a rare locomotive on the route . . .

  2. Last night had the honor of seeing the Orrin Evans Quintet, featuring Ravi Coltrane (son of John Coltrane) at Chris' Jazz Club in Philly. He's playing his father's sax. An evening to remember! https://photos.app.goo.gl/PzuxVRhtnLwiNs2C9 Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

  3. In case you have not seen it, Dylan has a new book “the Philosophy of Modern Song” worth every penny of the $45. I got it at 30% off. that’s where I was reminded again how great Ball of Confusion is. The book has a lot of wisdom inside. Gstallons, why can’t you receive PM’s?

  4. Actually the buyer who is a collector who had bought all my bikes didn't ride it - and I always kept contact. I own now the California 1400 Touring, the V7ll Stornello and of course the Tenni - a nice bunch and a bike for every occasion.

  5. Kinda reminds me of the "bad ol' days" at Grateful Dead concerts where the music industry cops busted kids hawking any t-shirt having the name of the band or specific logos, killing their gas & beer income. The band didn't care, but all the corporate f#@ks sucking at the golden teat sure did...

  6. How are they assembled, as I don't know Napoleon? Picture might help Most come with a bolt through the mirror that goes into either a sliding 2 part mechanism or just a block of rubber with a hole up the center that fits inside the bar. If it's like that I'd just get a cylindrical rubber block that will fit inside the bar and use a flanged nut on the end

  7. There is more content in one line of a Bob Dylan song than most musc groups will sing in a lifetime . I had the privilege of getting to know Kermit (Kermit's Chair) Easterling at biker rallyes . At this rallye which happen to be in Burkesville , we discussed Dylan in great length. I couldn't (naively) believe a man this old could be so cool as to know so much about Dylan & his philosophies.

  8. Beh, in questi giorni il Festival della canzone italiana di Sanremo a curiosity ... In 1986, Depeche Mode performed on the stage of the Sanremo Festival in the "company" of a Moto Guzzi V35 Custom used to evoke the sound of the sampled engine that characterized the introduction of the song. https://www.gazzetta.it/motori/la-mia-moto/12-02-2023/sanremo-i-depeche-mode-e-una-moto-guzzi-sul-palco.shtml

  9. Finally got a sunny warm day to place old tire and wheel plus new tire in the sun to heat up for changing. I have to install front wheel in prep for supporting bike for swing arm removal to service front driveline and check universals. Pleasantly suprised to put it on the balancer and it is perfectly balanced the way it is. Wish I put the old wheel and tire on to check before removal, as that had 1 oz. of weight on it. Seems like a big change, from an ounce to nothing.

  11. Tire/Rim size fitment recommendation: 180/55-17 => 5.50-6.00 170/60-17 => 4.25-5.50 These 2 tire sizes have different aspect ratio and although you could go either way on the 5.5" rim that came with the later models, mounting a 180/55 falls on the lower side of the recommended rim width where the 170/60 is on the higher side. The 170/60 will definetly sit a bit flatter on a 5.5" rim but the 180/55 with a smaller recommended rim size span would be just right. In fact, next tire size up, 190/55-17 will only properly fit on a 6.0-6.5" rim. There are so many other factors to handling performance not only with tires of different brands - even between models within the same brand - with different actual size and shape but also tire pressure, carried weight, ergonomics, etc. and most importantly suspension setup that it all comes down to personal experience with your own setup when it comes to tire choice. Don't forget that motorcycle tires have come a long way in the last 20 years and the 180/55 - 5.5" rim combo is pretty much today's standard for most sport/sport touring liter bikes. I personally favor that combo on my bike - it looks right and it feels right - again just a personal choice... YMMV

  13. Al, as far as I know, all Ducati regulators benefit from a dedicated ground wire. I *think* the last V11S models had one, but an extra can't hurt.

  14. That’s a pretty large claim. I’d have to disagree. Ball of Confusion, And the band played on… then about a dozen Dylan songs before that but Led Zepplin has great guitar. to each his own tho, it’s all subjective anyway.

  16. A one man shop with a clear passion for the brand. Really Piaggio? What harm is there to your multi brand international corporation. It is thanks to people like Stefan that the reputation of Moto Guzzi as far more meaning and long lasting power then any corporate advertising campaign could achieve. Do you think so many people would be interested in your new products or even know you existed if it wasn’t for the brand evangelists(Guzzisti) of this world? They should be given credit and support and be promoted as brand ambassadors. Instead they are treated with total disrespect and petty squabbles over the use of the Guzzi name. I bet the founders of Moto Guzzi would be delighted to see their venerable name and creation embraced by those artisans. In this fast spinning world we found ourselves living in, it seems that a lot of traditional values - respect, kindness, compassion - along with the freedom to follow your dreams, are being eroded by the power of the all-mighty corporation and their army of lawyers, and as a result the little people - creators, inventors, artists, etc..- are being squashed into submission and brought under control. Sad to see that such is the case with the brand that we all love and share here. End of rant. And sorry for the black cloud... Thanks to Jan @biesel for sharing the portrait of Stefan and Radical Guzzi which was a pleasant discovery!

  18. Nice Jaap. Don't know what they are singing about but music communicates on many levels. Puts me in the mind of Iris Dement. With top shelf accompaniment Emmylou, Jerry Douglas and Aly Bain.
