Y'all-boys have shamed me into this. I could even hear my own voice saying, "Decent Tune-up " . . . [Real-time image, not a "reference" from the archive . . .] > Eighteen days out and I already know that Waddington hates me . . .5 points

Skip, just talked to the hotel, the cabins are at the beginning of the resort, across from the golf course. She claimed its about two miles from the main hotel building to Jenning's Road. I will be trailering down because of my father, that said I could run a Spine Raider Uber for those wanting to leave a bike behind @ the garage for "tech sessions".2 points

Docc, you will be able to scrub the front tire in on the way to the KSR....2 points

Cool! Willie's 90th birthday (from just a couple days ago) . . .2 points

There are three springs in the mechanism. The one that commonly breaks has been redesigned, expertly, by @Chuck. Message @Scud to obtain one. Accept no substitutes!2 points

Photos of the tank and filler. The tank was made by the following, cost $1500 The owner of this bike is going to have another tank made, and said it would be nice if enough owners banded together to see if a discount could be negotiated if enough buyers committed. https://www.facebook.com/friedhelm.lammers2 points

Gallows Pole showed that folk based "acoustic" music could combine with heavy metal. The bass, vocals and drums are blazing, along with acoustic guitars and banjos. Saw Zep play it in '70 before the record was out.... IIRC saw Plant & Page play it twice. I think it's a brilliant "meld" and forerunner to "roots" and "alternative". Now we have "heavy" Bluegrass. This is fav from Zep 3 with the Page & Plant show. I really love the rhythm of the instrumental ending ... I might suggest the Alison Krauss - Plant stuff too.1 point

Studying the maps, it looks like the cottage is just outside the park entrance. I keep getting about two miles from the lodge.1 point

Hey Joe, Thanks for all the help/info. We reserved a lakeview room at the Lodge. How far is that from your cottage work shop?, walking distance? I'm going to bring a spare 02 SCURA ECU, connecter cables and computer. If there's time maybe we can play with some V-11 tuning mods to go along with those Decent Tune Ups. SKIP1 point

That's one of the great songs...a real story. Nice to see them play together. Willie could be Keef's older brother!1 point

... or some UK-based enthusiast may have a spare stash of springs that we built and you could acquire locally. Otherwise, happy to send one along, but I might not be able to post it for about a week.1 point

If I do my math right, and I could get that last few hundred miles out of this tire, it would mean getting the last $25US from it. I'd give $25 right now to never worry about it again for the whole ride.1 point

And I will never vote down new rubber. Prevents the should've could'ves.1 point

That's interesting. I thougt I read several years ago that they had ceased making custom tanks. Apparently not. Here's the site, I believe. Al's Facebook link wouldn't let me in without signing up. (Not a chance of that happening...) https://www.alu-tanks.de/39994.html all in German, and no English option, but there is contact info there under "Kontakt": https://www.alu-tanks.de/41368.html1 point

Just got back from DMV for my first ride with my new registration and title. All legal now. Had to slap a plate on it to get it there for them to check VIN since it came from Canada. New tires, gas, oil and filter. More work to do but it is now safe to ride now that the 2012 tires are history. Handles very nicely considering it weighs close to a Ford Excursion. Surprised the hell out of me how it dances around town. Too damn quiet though, need to look for something better for an exhaust note...can't hear the damn engine.1 point

I use a combination of idiot light and trip odometer to determie my fuel needs & range. I've run out of fuel on my Eldo twice last summer cause I'm an old fool and that bike has neither trip odometer or idiot light and l ran with both fuel taps open versus one open/one closed so I'd have some reserve fuel. Glad you made it to a gas station. Yeah, riding boots ain't made for walking. Art1 point
