Yes I have done a few of them for myself and friends on Ducati,Aprilia and Moto Guzzi...If you take it off and wash and rinse the inside good with some dish washing soap and hot water ( I hook a garden hose up to the bottom outlet on the hot water heater if nothing else) Then let it dry out for a couple months , in the sun as much as possible possible, I have even taken a low power hair dryer and stuck it in the fill hole and let it run for half a day a couple times... The tank will eventually return to its original size. All of the earthing runs back to ring terminals at the battery. The wiring diagrams are non-specific about that, just showing an earthing(grounding) symbol. This particular fail is most likely down to the bulb not contacting inside the light housing. Otherwise, a quick look at the rear connectors inside the access panel above the rear tire.2 points

Bear in mind that the light circuit requires a connection back to the minus pole of the battery. I haven't studied the wiring plan von my V11 to that extent yet, but I assume that it is the same as nearly every vehicle of any type on the market, i.e from the socket back through the frame to the battery. Have a look at it, and make sure the connenctions "after the light" are also good. Edit: after a quick look at the wiring plan, it looks like the tail light, brake light and number plate light share a common "earth". This might be the common mounting bracket, or it might be wiring that comes together and is connected to the frame somewhere close. As I said, have a good look at it and check that side of the circuit too.2 points

Last night I reinstalled the rear wheel fender on my v11; PO had removed it to make the bike more naked. He gave it to me along with the other pieces of plastic he took off. I've been noticing it on pics of other bikes and like the look as well as its very practical purpose. Luckily he still had the original screws.1 point

I got some aluminium foil faced self-adhesive fiberglass insulation sheet that is 1.5mm thick. It looks like it will work well, as it has some insulation against both convection heat and infra-red radiation, and if I can make a 1 piece panel, it should stay in place, and continue to do its job even if the adhesive fails.1 point

Nicely done P6X! I'll be picking up those same stops next week on my way to a small Guzzi rally in Cedar Vale, Kansas with a few days detouring thru Arkansas as well riding the twisties before ending up in Kansas. Hopefully can pick up some of the ones near Dallas on the way back down, then the 4 near Houston (Submarine, Edna, Blessing and Cuero) in a few more weeks time. Lemans doing well I hope...no more leaks?1 point

Updated today, 03-May-2023 for my 6 stops ride in Eastern Texas; Please refer to the May 1st in the OP. Riding 644 miles in a single day, 10 hours 36 minutes of riding time is not too strenuous. I wear the SIXS padded boxer shorts that considerably alleviate the back side hurt. The major pain comes from the shoulders (the day after), and the legs being too folded because of the foot pegs position. I don't eat while I ride, so I don't fall asleep.1 point

Yes, certainly on the early chinpad short tanks. This self-adhesive foil commonly comes loose and benefits from re-adhering. I cases with open-top air box modification, the foil has been known to drop down and block the air flow. Perhaps someone with the later, internal pump/filter long tank can confirm the heat shielding was still being applied?1 point

I had my tank off last week to replace cam position sensor & install heat resistant foil tape to the exterior underside of the tank. I had a minor struggle getting the tank pushed back onto the support pucks up front and remember seeing the photo above ... LOL! I've not had issues before when I've had the tank off and went back to install it, crazy eh??!! Art1 point

*Pretty sure* sKSR-Central (the "cottage"/602 on the park map) is 209 Jennings Rd on google maps. Looks to be more like 2 1/2 miles from there to The Lodge/restaurant/lodge rooms so, for sure, a shuttle will be much appreciated for the lodge guests!1 point

Arizona used to do emissions testing on motorcycles. As a fan of BMW Airheads, and having MBS (Multiple Bike Syndrome), it used to be a major pain in the butt getting the annual emissions check. The emissions people, being more used to Harleys, would put the box fan on the right 45 degree of the bike for cooling. I discovered that with the boxer engine, I could get the technicians to put the fan straight on facing the bike off the front wheel. That blew enough clean air into the sensor tubes, to get me passed. One of the best days of my life was when the state legislature dropped the emissions test requirement. And they also put in an option for a 5 year registration. Life is good. BTW, the V11 came into my life after all of this.1 point

Simply releasing the rear tank bolt and chocking up the back of the tank should be enough to slip the side covers out without removing the tank. Shouldn't be necessary to get to the main ground on the back of the gearbox on the right. Remove the seat latch lock and you will find the ground under a bolt on the back of the gearbox. Just an interesting point, the Ducati monster/750ss/900ss CEV / ITI gauges have a metal gear, where the Guzzi one is plastic . I replaced the gears myself in my ITI speedo and it's holding up well, unfortunately the speedo body is 2mm wider otherwise I would have just fit the whole thing! Here is my ITI speedo in pieces with the new parts fitted. So that silver worm gear on my (lovely) workbench is actually sliver plastic, whereas the one I fitted from the Ducati speedo is metal. Likewise for the long gear on the left, the old one is all chewed up as you can see, It is a weird design as it is tapers towards the bottom end and sits over another worm gear that, without enough grease, just rubs a notch in it over time. I also scavenged all the parts for the trip reset knob, which works fine now!1 point
