  1. The studded side is the exhaust, the intake side the spigot. Edit; rhetorical questions before coffee. Not fair.

  2. Yes, I used to work at that Moto Studio, I moved to Ohio now and I’m doing my own thing, hopefully it generates as much traction as Moto Studio did for me. I’ll keep you posted!!

  3. As frustrating and maddening as the TPS setting (and even a GuzziDiag connection) can be, throttle body balance on a V11 is a satisfying delight. Right up with pulling the feeler gauge through for the perfect valve clearances.

  4. Any guesses which port on this air-cooled cylinder head is the exhaust port? Once water cooling is introduced, the exhaust port orientation becomes less important

  5. This Moto Studio? https://moto-studio.com/collections/builds Some really nice stuff there. Do keep us in the loop with your build and whatever else you want to share. The spine frame is a great 'palette' for customs. Interchangeable or adaptable parts is always an interesting subject. Welcome to the Forum Max77

  7. @Cold Desert Rat Just so you know, I looked in multiple languages. I found several lists assembled by unknown sources, including the original Italian paint providers of Moto Guzzi. In almost every case, they do not give a usable paint reference, but a reference of their own product, and like you found out yourself, there is very little about the V11 and nothing about the Copa Italia. I was told that a spectrograph can pin point the exact color you are looking for. But you need to have an original sample. If someone here has a Copa Italia, he can go to a paint shop and ask them to get the color code. Some paint makers sell "color readers", but the code you are getting is always translated into their own products. Ideally, one of those HTML hexadecimal color code would work for you to get that paint from any manufacturer. The best approach would be to get in touch with someone at Moto Guzzi. Someone who can consult the files and give you a reference. Here's a link to a Moto Guzzi contact form; https://www.motoguzzi.com/it_IT/contact-form/

  8. In Germany, Marc accumulated a total of 5 falls, before injuring a finger and deciding to renounce to the GP. 3 falls during the Q1 and Q2, which got to be a record. The other Japanese brand did not do better. Only KTM seems to be able to compete with Ducati, but still lacks something. Marquez is unique in never giving up, but he should resign himself to wait for a better package before he hurt himself seriously.

  10. I agree w the mod your own stuff as you see fit, but I thought the Coppa came with high dollar titanium cans. Maybe it was an option, not sure. Either way this example is missing some original bits, I personally think the stock bike like Randy’s is gorgeous.

  11. The manual says to balance with them closed. I finally went with the theory that balancing at "some rpm" (like 3000) it's fine to leave them open then use them to make the final balance at idle, if necessary. Of course my theories have been lacking before . . .

  12. Good catch! However we need to keep in mind that not all of us are "purists"? I try to keep my Le Mans as it came out of the factory in 2004. The Quota I went to check in Boise was modified by its owner. I did not tell him I found some of the modifications desecration, because anyone can do what they want on what they own;

  13. AND , when / if you remove lifters and inspect be absolutely sure to install that lifter back into that bore it came out of . Each lifter / cam lobe has developed a particular wear pattern . To test the pushrod for being straight, lay them on a sheet of glass and roll them . It will be straight or bent . Nothing in between .

  14. With the WC motor it's more the fact that the direct action cam drive from the DOHC's dictates that the throttlebodies will be in the valley and the exhausts out the side but of course it also allows for direct downdraught induction meaning far better cylinder fill and less wasted charge. How they ever got the old Hi-Cam to make a genuine 100RWHP I have no real idea? But it does. Witchcraft I reckon, but it has a terrifying thirst due to waste and could never hope to meet €5 emissions targets.
