  1. The Sport 1100i manual says "Absolute pressure transducer. This transducer is powered by the electronic control centre and gives information about the absolute pressure in the air filter box. This transducer is connected to the filter box through a small pipe. Its output signal will produce a correction signal as function of the barometrical pressure". On the V11 there is a pressure transducer built into the ECU.

  2. Hi Tom. I don't know anything for sure, but... In the German forum I found a number of references to the temp. sensor in the valve cover. It seems the Quota and some Californias had that as well, and it seems to be for motor temperature, perhaps one of two temperature sensors. The pressure valve has "100 kPa" written on it. That is "only" one Bar. Where is it exactly? With that value, it can hardly be fuel pressure. As far as I know, that should be more like 3 or 4 Bar, shouldn't it? EDIT: I think I've found the pressure thing. It looks like it is not a valve but rather a pressure sensor. Part #14 here: https://www.stein-dinse.biz/etkataloge/etkataloge.php?l=de&m=227&t=5671&c=W The disturbing news: https://www.stein-dinse.com/de/search.html?grp=&searchStr=29727061 and the good news, the alternative part: https://www.stein-dinse.com/de/search.html?grp=&searchStr=200516001 Slight price difference....

  3. China recognises the "technical superiority of Moto Guzzis" Really? I thought it was the opposite that keeps this Forum alive. The endless quest to improve on the "lack" of technical superiority of Guzzis. Phil

  7. If it were licensed, why would the eagle running light look like a Wuhan bat?

  10. Yes, that turned up a week or so ago on the german forum. The consensus, after much discussion, is that it may well be the result of some business arrangement between Piaggio and Changjiang. If it isn't, I dare say Piaggio is currently disscussing legal action with their lawyers. Incidentally, that article seem to be poorly researched. Firstly, the thing is called "Deffender", double-f for whatever reason. In the film at the top of the article behind Rany's link on can see the double-f very breifly on the wall behind the bike. Secondly, the quoted power figures don't correspond to other reports that I've seen. For instance: from here https://www.motorradonline.de/enduro/changjiang-v-750-deffender-gespann-guzzi/ and Motorradonline is generally very well researched. Given the similarity of those figures to the "old" V7 motor with the heron heads, I could imagine it really is a licensed copy of that motor. Moto Guzzi has retired it, after all.

  12. It says dryk ventil, ( pressure valve), wondering what purpose ? And the sensor in the left valve cover? Same temp sensor as in the filter box on the V11. Cheers Tom. Sent fra min SM-S906B via Tapatalk

  13. Audiomike, your link explains where I’d picked up the idea there was V7 club racing, I was likely on the Guareschi website. Yes, we are lucky to have Admin & Docc keeping this site alive & going

  14. Just remember why the Carabinieri always hang around in threes. They need one who can read, one who can write and one to keep an eye on the two intellectuals!

  15. But the *good* kind of tired. Monday, Nic and I went up 360 through the Dragon and took 28 all the way to the end in Georgia, cutting off at Walhalla. That's the best piece of road I've seen in the East and rivals anything I've seen out West either, one section of about 10 miles you could literally set your cruise control at 35mph and enjoy it.

  16. Drum brakes, the original ABS. They don’t work like 4 pot Brembo brakes. But with the application of the rear brake and a little help from the transmission they get the job done. It takes all 10 fingers and all ten toes for sure. I was definitely tired after a weekend of trying to keep up with the 1100 and 1200’s.

  17. Thank, you, Randy. I am, obviously, not dashing enough to wear that uniform, but make do with a more utilitarian uniform. Bill P.S. @KINDOY2, what’s the story on that cap? The triple-turreted insignia looks as if from an older Carabinieri rank "shoulder board," and the eagle is similar to a Mussolini-era Italian military eagle but sans the fasces. Anyway, thank you for adding to my military moto-museum collection!
