  2. Check you haven’t missed reattaching one or more cables to the new battery.

  3. I bought one of these a while back and used it to mount the new tyres to the PVM wheels on my V10 Sport. I've looked at various tyre changers over the years such as the No Mar etc and was always unimpressed by the size and the fact you still need to lever on the edge of the rim and unless they are bolted down you seem to chase the unit itself around the shop floor. The Rabaconda is brilliant to use. The force of stretching the tyre is directed into the ground so it's very stable and the ratchet system is easy on the body and the "ducks head design which is basically the same as a powered machine keeps the rim safe. For people that do miles and the cost of tyre fitting these days it's a good investment. I rate it.

  4. Yes, look deep into the well for a ring terminal that got left off from either the positive or negative terminal stacks. So very common.

  5. I know I am new here and I do not want to hijack this thread but... I have my own construction related business in Seattle, Washington. I am in the process of having some aluminum water jet cut at a local shop for a project we are doing. I would be happy to cut some of these if people wanted them. I need one for myself. If someone were to provide me with following I could get it done in the next few weeks or so: A dxf file of the part. Material required Any royalties that need to be paid to Mr. Roper if any A quantity for those who need them. Just offering to help out..... that is all. Regarding any concern about burrs, I would be happy to run over them with a file and sand edges. (I am a mechanical engineer with machine shop experience so not an amateur when it comes to this) Let me know if I can help.

  6. That fact you have zero electrics, but the battery is good, it can really only be key, fuse, or battery cable.

  7. Recently, we had the opportunity to troubleshoot two different V11 with this behavior. On one, the Run Switch had been toggled off, un-noticed. [edit: as @p6x points out, this condition allows the lights on, but not fuel/ignition.] The other was not in neutral and would not power on with the sidestand down. So, be certain the Run Switch is on and the bike is in neutral with the Neutral Light aglow. If is not, sit astride and attempt the start with the stand up and the clutch pulled in . . .

  10. Yes, it can. In fact, it needs to know which ECU it is connecting to, as far as I understand it. That is not a big deal, though. The connection process involves telling the program which motorcycle it is connecting to (Datei -> Einstellungen in the german version). When it is connected, the ECU type is clearly shown in a box on the lower left of the screen.

  11. Did you test it? Was it really blown? If so, why? There is a problem somewhere. If not, that was obviously not the problem. I'd be suspecting bad connections somewhere. Either corrosion through standing around, or having missed a cable when re-installing the battery, as has been mentioned, or some other cable (like the clutch switch connedtors), that may have been somehow involved in any work done on the bike.

  12. Any possibility that the troublesome clutch switch bullet connectors left of the head stock or some of the relays came loose while you were working around the tank & battery?

  13. Thank you, everyone. I should have said this before: Pro Italia also installed the battery. I rode the bike home with no problems. A day or two later, the fuel pump went out. After replacing that was when the electrical problem arose. I'll remove the battery and re-install it. I've already changed the fuse.

  17. Threads like this are awesome reads. The following is a true story ..... My wife didn't want me to get a motorcycle after the kids came along. Then, many years later, kids in college, I found out my brother in law got a Triumph Scrambler. So I said, if Ned can have a bike, why can't I? And she said, Ok how you going to pay for it? And I countered with, I'll sell a few mausers. And she said ok fewer guns, sounds good. She thought I was bluffing. I listed some of them, which quickly sold, my motorcycle fund grew, and started looking at craigslist but didn't really see anything I liked. My neighbor told me my other neighbor was selling a bike, a moto guzzi ... Took if for a ride. And that was it.

  18. All good ideas... and I would add a good front wheel chock to keep the bike upright on it's own. It's easy to roll the bike in and out of and works great in conjunction with the BT stand. It also comes in handy to do oil changes and to save space in the shop. Baxley makes the best ones, albeit a bit pricey but solid and will be an heirloom to your grandkids. Harbor Freight sells a cheap one(Guzzi content) which I have modified and mounted to the lift, works great. https://baxleycompanies.com/products/sport-chock?variant=39329523663022 A feeling of déjà vu - - - - @activpop I wonder where you got the idea of ordering your BT stand from SD? Or encore - - - -

  19. What I meant to say is any (and all) 15M can be swapped between different bike models with the proper map installed. The same goes for the 15RC's, but not between 15M and 15RC in the original bike configurations. Not on US models. The 15RC never made to this side of the pond, at least not on the V11 Sport. I have an 15M ECU in my stash that was originally intended for a V11 Sport but had a paper label for a V11 California on top of the original plastic one... I was able to carefully removed the paper label and preserve the original. It'll get a proper map written for the V11 Sport eventually... Very much like this one where you can just make out the "V11 Sport" writing of the original label under the paper one.

  20. That is a high compliment among so many admirable Moto Guzzi. It occurred to me that this particular V11 Sport Has been present at all nineteen of the nineteen South'n SpineRaids. (Would not have been possible without this amazing community!)

  21. I'm thinking kill switch is cause of problem. I will give it a clean when I'm home. Im not tempting fate by working on it while on trip. Bike didn't miss a beat today. Traveled 400k home to Dunedin via some back roads. Off to rally tomorrow in Alexandra which is about 200ks away.

  22. What's my first rule about troubleshooting before you do anything else. Ask yourself the question "what was the last thing I did before the issue arose"? Wash the bike? fuel the bike? Have the seat off? replace the battery? You get the idea. Phil

  23. Four years but zero marketing? Just the crazies here on the forum. Not bad I think. But then again I didn't have to look at a stack of them for all that time.
