  2. "It's a computer that happens to operate a car....." Yep, and one with potentially deadly consequences WHEN it has a hissy fit... Think I'd rather be master of my own destiny. Cheers HAL ...ha ha

  3. The recall is way overdue, hopefully they will correct the issue completely and move on. I've driven a Model Y for about 5 months and had at east 3 software updates, its part of the ownership experience similar to owning a I-phone. Its a computer that happens to operate a car.

  4. I have a new side stand switch that I was going to install on my EV. No way going to use it. If it works for you, I'm game. My Sport has a new side stand but the switch was readjusted and works fine.

  5. It seems that Tesla caught the draft, and they are now pushing an update Quote from the Washington Post this morning: https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2023/12/13/tesla-autopilot-recall/ There is also mention of that recall in the New-York Times; same title and stating that software updates were pushed to cars on Tuesday, following an investigation by traffic safety officials. The only car I drove with driver's assistance had a safety feature that obliged the driver to keep his/her hands on the steering wheel at all times, else the assistance would disengage immediately. Besides that, the assistance would only be available with cruise control activated.

  8. Recently needed to rebuild rear master cylinder on my 2004 V11 Sport Ballabio. Found the rebuild kits at Gutsibits in UK. Cost for the two kits was about 38 Euro. The one kit is the piston, seals, spring, o-ring, sleeve, washer, etc. (BRA10241 / LS0418) The other is the 90 degree plastic fitting and seal that attaches to body where brake fluid supply enters master cylinder. (BRA19500 / LP1419) I suggest making sure to remove the 90 degree fitting, as that is where my problem was where the smaller of the two holes was plugged in behind the 90 degree fitting seal. This resulted in the caliper not fully releasing, keeping the rear brake active, heating up the pads/rotor. Lucky I noticed fairly quickly ( the next time I went to apply the brake) as I think if one did not, it would quickly cook the pads/disc. Delivery to Canada by post was relatively fast. I rebuilt the rear caliper, new pads, as well using kits from Powerhouse UK. Could not find Rear Brake Master Cylinder Thread so added here. Picture is of the removed old parts.

  9. Those serrated lock washers are appalling horrid things and along with spring washers I refuse to use them. Phil

  10. The bolt would likely bottom in the blind hole without a spacer standing it off. A pair of normal flat washers "might " do it, but getting the 70-75 Nm is apparently important to expect that little leg to hold up our heavy girl . . . Just a reminder for everyone to check that torque and make sure the smaller (red circled) fastener hasn't wiggled itself loose. When that one fails, it takes a bit of the sump spacer with it.

  11. Flattery and emulation? Where else is a modern motorcycle design from one inspired man, drawn in one night, "unasked for", that is such an inimitable delight? https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/topic/19665-luciano-marabese-v11-sport-designer/
