I have to set up a paypal or venmo account for payment so will get that done shortly. As to the time it has taken to do this, I appreciate the comment but I am embarrassed that it took this long. Should have been done in half the time. Back to you all early next week.3 points

If you ever get the need to do something very different, and you decide to do it in France, I would like to recommend a boat trip along the Canal du Midi. This is a unique experience that does not require any specific skills. You rent a boat and off you go; bring the entire family, and live the most incredible 15 days of your lives. I have seen motorcycles on the boats too. This video is subtitled in English, and shot by Canadian French. It gives you an idea of what the trip can be. Once in a lifetime. You can even follow the Canal on your Moto Guzzi while your better half drives the boat. This beats anything you have ever done so far, shy of riding a V11 perhaps! I lived several years in Sète, and the Canal du Midi experience is mind-blowing; each time! for those of you living in Europe, you should give it a try. This is enchanteresque!2 points

@docc @PJPR01 My best ever version of Tin Pan Alley is of course this one; In Texas, Stevie Ray Vaughan, whose name I mispronounced for a long time, is an institution. I was saying the "ghan" like "gan" of Organ.... lol... I include a live version too, for good measure. Which one do you prefer? When I first moved to Houston in 2008, my first trip was to Austin to check Antone's where he used to play before he was known. The place has now closed down. It is a pity, because they had all the pictures of him on the stage when he was still a 16's year old guy. I have seen Lucky Peterson live in Paris. I was always a Blues enthusiast from my early days. My mum took me to see Jimi Hendrix when he played at the Olympia in Paris. This was a revelation, and I immediately decided I was going to learn to play guitar. So I learned music and trumpet for 7 years after that. (my mother did not get a good impression of Jimi Hendrix; she said Electric guitar was not a noble instrument! Louis Armstrong was a better incarnation of music in her mind! Trumpet then....) When I finally could buy my first guitar, I was already past the time when I could dedicate the time to learn. Strangely, my favorite guitar player is not a Blues guitar player, but that is another story. He is also based in Texas though! Sure thing for BB King; I also saw him live in Paris. But I am more a Texas blues style of music. Lucky Peterson is Chicago style. I also like Robben Ford very much. His use of the half diminished blues and pentatonic scales is incredible; playing Blues with a Jazzy touch.2 points

Pete , let me say , it makes it more difficult for the average tuner to @#!#$# up. I should have said the new setup is more difficult than the old one. Your last paragraph summed up everything. All the clucks around here want to install a plug n play device to get more ( of something ) on their vehicles and convince themselves something happened . I remember this young man had a SS 454 Chevy truck and purchased a special hi-performance PROM . I replaced it and he was convinced I did something wrong because " I can't tell any difference".2 points

I count that elapsed time as two months two weeks from @DucatiGuzziIndian's first post about the matter. Outstanding, in my book !2 points

Traxxion Dynamics did a great job spec'ing my fork springs and nailed the preload spacers right from the start. In addition to weight (in gear), they used "riding style." I told them I ride like a jackrabbit on hot lava . . .2 points

It wasn't so difficult. The US forces prohibit alcohol due to being in a predominantly Muslim Country; so them sneaky wine aunts' care packages got confiscated. But of course, things being what they are, instead of destroying it and reporting it, them what had their hands on it sold it on the black market, and it found it's way to the receiver with extra cost, and sometimes to the ...others... in the area. The Russians reportedly paid a high premium for American liquor. I wouldn't know about that, of course, since I only played chess with them in their off time.2 points

These are used, but great shape shims. They are used to replace the stock exhaust cross over gaskets, which easily get loose and cause the dreaded "Floppy X-Over" condition, as well as exhaust leaks and tons of frustration. Anyway I converted my bike to separate Mistral down tubes, so I don't need them any more. Asking $30.0 +shipping costs. Thanks! Andy1 point

Sorry; Andy Timmons. I spoke about him in a different post, under the topic: favorite songs. He lives in McKinney Texas. (45' from Dallas) I really like his music. I used to go to his concerts at the Guitar Sanctuary, in McKinney. Sadly, during the pandemic they created a virtual platform "StageIT", so musicians could still safely perform and earn money. The equivalent of "Zoom" for the rest of the work force. After the pandemic, he continues to use "StageIT" which obviously allows him to sell his shows from home. No equipment to carry, setup, rig down, carry back. No living home and family. No travel. Not the same. Going to McKinney from Houston was a good excuse to V11 or 911.1 point

Delving further into the research on these two theories of biogenic & abiogenic origins of oil is simply fascinating. https://12bytes.org/weve-been-lied-to-about-everything-else-oil-too/ Sacred cows are either questioned or worshipped1 point

For so long, our common wisdom was, "Yeah they flop, but won't fall out." That was proved decisively wrong at a South'n Spine Raid when a crossover pipe went bounding back through the staggered group of riders. Bad form, to say the least . . .1 point

I'd buy a set of these but that would be a "step down" for me. Get it/..."step down" lol. I'm here all week folks. Phil1 point

I just came across a set of these in my parts shed that I got from "way back when". I've converted my bike to remove the cross over, so I don't need them anymore. I'll post them up for sale on the classified.1 point

So many great explanations, thank you all. After evaluating what I've adjusted, how it's reacting and what you've each advised; I believe my springs may be too soft. I think I'm the third owner of this bike. The guy I bought it from weighed more than me, albeit he did not ride it more than a 1,000 miles in over 10 years of ownership . My conclusion is the first owner must have been lighter than I and replaced the stock springs because the OEM springs should certainly be able to handle my 170lbs and gear no problem. I guess this gives me the start of my 2024 Christmas list.1 point

What’s pivotal is whether our V11’s fuel is of fossil or abiogenic origin. As a kid at school I remember I had difficulty imagining the necessary huge numbers of compressed dinosaurs & leaf matter etc that ended up fuelling the billions of cars & trucks & machinery ever made. That notion of source for fuel is incredible Abiogenic origin has not only been discovered but seems a tad more sensical1 point

Pretty sure this thread is (d)evolving into a "banter" topic that has little to nothing to do with V11 24/7 . . . Might remain "interesting", but might get moved. Might find itself "elsewhere."1 point

Besides the obvious premise of "let's ask the other inmates on the ward if we are really and actually crazy and just which, and how many, Moto Guzzi to buy" . . . . . . I resemble all of those remarks in that eloquent P.Roper post.1 point
