I admit this California specimen is really stun looking! If anyone is interested, I am going to post the eBay link here below; the "buy it now" price is USD 7,500; there is one bid at 4,995.00 USD "reserve not met" and 5 more days to go. https://www.ebay.com/itm/364678986881?hash=item54e88fbc81:g:hw4AAOSwQX9lnyD-2 points

Those sound like (without actually looking) they are the cartridge inserts for the front forks. They should be the springs and the cartridge that does the valving. A very nice upgrade. Other vendors also offer them.2 points

Two years ago while on a trip to Colorado...Beaver Creek to be exact...I was pleasantly surprised to see 3 Dog Night at the last minute performing at the theater in the mountain village above town, ..what a great blast from the past! Music we grew up on...and to see it live was fantastic. Voices are pretty much the same. Now where is Jeremiah tonight...he was a good friend of mine!2 points

Not to mention 40 bales of wheat straw covering the well house and vents around the house. This should stop any water freezing ! A trip to DGS for 3 upright electric heaters and it is a cool 50deg. in the house with D , the dog and cat in the bed.2 points

Didn't manage to watch much of that, and skipped to the final review. The bloke strikes me as being an arrogant little wanker, and perhaps not all that bright.1 point

I know two personally. The German forum that I am involved in has about 3,500 members. Really active, maybe a hundred or so. No idea how many look in regularly but don't post. Since the V100 came out, there have been a number of new members who joined because they bought a V100, some of them as their first Guzzi. There is a thread that someone started to record the last four digits of the VIN to see who has the earliest one, and to try and keep track of approximately how many may have been produced. There are currently 29 VINs recorded. The lowest is 0136, and the highest 2135. The bike seems to be selling rather well, at least in Europe.1 point

Yeah, same here. The cold temps meant that much of the snow was the light fluffy variety around us. But others to our east and south may not be so lucky. It is pretty cold, a high of 26 today with a low of 13. We have had colder, but for me that is cold enough. As to power, we don't have the power issues Texas has. Or California. Power might go out, but we don't get rolling brownouts or blackouts. We don't make all our power, but we are part of a larger grid so that shortfalls in power production can come in from elsewhere.1 point

Yes, the air cooled cylinders do have their acoustic properties. And they have their simplicity, which greatly appeals to me. But they also have trouble with the newest emissions regs. I suspect the days of air cooled motorcycles are numbered. Luckily, the ones MG makes tend to be around for a long time, so I don't think I will still be alive at a time when there are no Moto Guzzi's to be had.1 point

Here we go... single digit temperatures in H'town. The good thing is so far, no power losses; at least not where I live.1 point

And no water either... since all the water towers have been made redundant, no power means no water flow either. Food and heat can be mitigated, but the lack of water has the most unpleasant outcome.1 point

I found a Texas based review of the Red V100 Mandello... What is hilarious, is that the reviewer could not get the windshield to move up. That generated a follow-up video by a real Guzzi owner, who kind of shamed him for not doing his homework before posting his video. I am not going to say anything about him messing up gear changes... This is the initial video shot around Austin Texas. I recognized the "highway" limited at 55 mph. Below is the counterstrike... a little sarcastic...1 point

Plumbers around here will be fixing frozen pipes for the next few weeks, soon to be followed by Texas plumbers. Spring can't come fast enough.1 point

I think i may have just had too much of this delicious Reynvaan Stoneessence Syrah wine, as it appears i just read a thread about John Day, and then Kazakhstan, Atrayau, Texas eclipse, and something about Siberian winters. This is some good wine!1 point

Traxxion Dynamics did a great job spec'ing my fork springs and nailed the preload spacers right from the start. In addition to weight (in gear), they used "riding style." I told them I ride like a jackrabbit on hot lava . . .1 point

Both those look awesome. Must have been great fun. Riding in the snow can be great fun, but it can be hard. It does make it hard to judge terrain, easy to hit something that you never saw. As to the adventure bike ride, that looks like fun but I would do that same trip on a normal bike. I don't need a two wheeled SUV to do that. The wife has rode her V11 down "roads" worse then that. But that does look like fun. Most of our travels down roads like that are now in a Jeep.1 point

Lots of frozen pipes issues up here on the mountain from folks who lost power for a few days. Some wont even find out until things warm up. Still 77,000 homes without power, and an ice storm coming tomorrow. These utility and tree crews can't get a break.0 points
