Have another old biker friend, never had a Guzzi, but bought a v100S after had a ride on mine. He really love it. I think they sold 48 up here last year. That’s a lot here. But if 1 Guzzi, my Nero Corsa. Doesn’t cost anything to test ride one if the look appeals. Cheers Tom.2 points

Another very nice looking California Special Sport, this one with 23,300 miles. The seller has 98.9% rating on eBay and some oddities in his listing; such as tagging his used motorcycle as "new" and engine "1300", while his narrative states that he has been riding it for two years. He also says he is open to reasonable offers... I am already committed to that Red Quota in Peoria, but if I wasn't, I'd be very tempted. Now I am thinking a third motorcycle is kind of necessary too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/395126098463?hash=item5bff59ca1f:g:9xEAAOSwOrZlRBpJ Look at this beauty with the Guzzi bags!!!2 points

I am wondering if we can think of ourselves as true Moto Guzzi fans... Most of us live for their old glories; I find myself dying for more Moto Guzzi in my garage, but none of them modern! on my list is the slippery Quota, and I found out that I am seriously warming up to the California the EV 1100. I don't understand why the V100 Mandello nor the V100 Stelvio leave me cold. I wonder if it is not generation related? when I was younger, the vintage bikes did not really generate much interest. I was perusing all the new stuff catalogs. Today it is exactly the opposite.2 points

Yeah, we haven't even got mail delivered since last week. So much for that neither snow nor rain nor heat stuff...1 point

There are a lot of differences with Europe here. Unlike Europe, you can be sued at a civil court for whatever reason the other party come up with, so you need to have some litigation protection. There are many lawyers specializing in personal injury claim. Also, if you are injured by an uninsured person, all the eventual medical expenses are out of your own pocket. Medical costs here are just unbelievable!1 point

Mine, in Germany, is €177,- a year. That is only third-party property liability insurance, the legally required minimum. If I were to take out comprehensive insurance, I would be paying within 4 or 5 years what I paid for the bike over again, so I don't. I choose to try and avoid throwing it away instead, and if I do, it's my own stupid fault. If anyone else should drive over it, the bike would be covered by their obligatory third-party property insurance. But I try and stay out of the way of that too.1 point

A note that the Pacific Northwest (Oregon and Washington) have had some severe weather (snow and now ice) so may be extremely difficult for @DucatiGuzziIndian to ship anything. I'm not sure what it's like in Seattle but our roads in Oregon are lovely sheets of solid ice. Because of high winds a few days ago many, many people are out of power. And this is the first time we've been above freezing (0C, 32F) since last week.1 point

The Cali EV1100 looks great, rides OK, but for some of us, was hard to enjoy given the barn door windshield and intense buffeting that occurred. I know some folks love theirs however. I sold mine after a couple of months...and I lusted after it for quite a while until i found the right specimen down in Corpus Christi. It was mechanically perfect, very appealing visually, had the Hydro recall done (if I remember the terminology correctly), but I hated riding it on anything but slower FM roads and quite frankly, it wasn't that much fun to ride compared to the Norge and Scura and subsequently Griso. I took the windshield off the Cali completely and rode it naked for the short time I had it, the stock one was that bad. Some folks may have found better windshield solutions...I didn't invest any time in doing so. The Quota I hope is a more comfortable ride... Have you ridden a Centauro or Griso yet?1 point

I think i may have just had too much of this delicious Reynvaan Stoneessence Syrah wine, as it appears i just read a thread about John Day, and then Kazakhstan, Atrayau, Texas eclipse, and something about Siberian winters. This is some good wine!1 point
