  1. Excellent. Even minor misery loves a little company :->. We’ll stay ever vigilant for the elusive fix for the some-times naughty behavior. And it provides the appropriate excuse to always have more than one motorcycle!

  2. I used anaerobic flange sealer on my bike (LOCKTITE 515) without any problems. No gaskets means no need to slot the hole for the sidestand bolt. I now have 4 gaskets to give away for the cost of shipping.

  4. And the lac the Roselend approaching from Beaufort(what she did) and continuing to the Cormet de Roselend is part of the route des Grandes Alpes. Magnificent rides. When sitting good in the saddle you can make it all the way to Nice in a long day. (Or that is what we did when we were younger). In 2021 it took more time when coming back from Mandello >> Col du Tende(gravel) >> Val du Vesubie and further north on same route in the other direction until Briancon. Really lovely part to ride. Bit dusty on the Col du Tende.

  5. Thanks, I've done fresh gas and battery. Next bit of free time will be oil and brake fluid. I loved riding this bike years ago when it was new, hands down my favorite bike.

  6. I've been lurking here for a few months so I figure I should go ahead and introduce myself. I have recently become the new owner of a 2003 V11 Le Mans. It has been owned since new by my father. it's spent the best part of the last 3 years in storage, but it is now time to get her registered and back on the road. Has anyone had any experiance with registering any Moto Guzzi in Maryland? The MVA (their version of the DMV) doesn't seem to have the brand in their system. Thanks for all the advice so far in the forums! Rob

  7. Appreciate you dropping this pearl of wisdom... Thanks, ordered the gaskets but might just go this way...

  8. Yeah, do that. I already answered your mail with the UPS costs, and said to put it in the US Post. But if DHL or Fedex is reasonable, that would be an option. Also, I'm happy to "go with the crowd", i.e. what the rest decides on. No need for you to be running around sending one from one place, and one from another.

  9. Here, in The States, we call that Groundhog Day (February 2nd). There is some convoluted matter of the groundhog coming out of his hole and, if he sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. The adage typically does not address the contingency of him not seeing his shadow, but it makes for an adequate drinking holiday in places like Pennsylvania where is celebrated with some verve. I always just call it halfway to spring and celebrate either way (shadow or no). I prefer to ride that day, but will settle for whatever verve seems most applicable . . .

  10. Regarding the gaskets, I pulled the OEM "GU" numbers in this post from the Moto Guzzi Parts Catalog for V11 1999-2001:

  11. Ever one has there own reasons for listening to music but I came across a chat session with Molly Tuttle and Tommy Emmanual. This is kind of a three fer one with music at intro, 7:00 minutes, and 17:30 minutes. I got interested in the claw hammer technique she was demonstrating and found a more isolated version of her preforming it.

  13. Hi, if I understand your question correctly then the answer is easy. Looking at the first relevant voltage entries 0.176V - 0.157V - 0.137V the delta is 0.019V and 0.02V respectively, so the range is +/-0.02V for the inital entries. However, let's not forget that we are looking at millivolts here. I doubt that the average DMM has the accuracy and repeatability to operate reliably in the millivolt and below range. Test lead resistance, tolerances of the ADC, accuracy of the 5V supply to the TPS and the general operation of an ADC came into play. Cheers Meinolf

  19. Interesting video. He does make a few mistakes, the worst I noticed was his poor explanation of secondary forces. But it was still interesting. Also, Yamaha brought out a 270 degree parallel twin some two decades ago, the TRX 850 in the mid 90's. So the 270 degree engine is not really that new. On a side note, even before Yamaha came out with the TRX 850 Honda was using offset cranks in narrow angle V twins. The Honda Hawk GT650 used a 52 degree V angle along with a 76 degree offset in the crank. The numbers don't add up to a 90 degree V twin firing order, perhaps along the same lines as the 285 degree firing order KTM uses. The end result was no balance shaft was required, but if you rev's it too hard you would break the crank.

  20. Hey all, came across this thread. Looks like I am about to add a Calvin to keep the V11 company.. do we still have any fans here? My friend is the new owner of Biesels bike. Lovely machine…

  21. In the early days I lusted after the Magni fairing for my Sport. It would've been quite the financial commitment especially here in Oz.After a while though I realised that if I had gone with one I'd have been forever swapping between it and the Stucchi.A bit more time and I've come to prefer the Stucchi...really prefer it, so glad I never went down the path of the Magni.I dare say though the minister of finance would've made it er difficult anyways...ha ha. I agree with Mick though in that the V11 does need a fairing to balance it out. As good as bare breasted is, in this case she kinda looks better with her bikini top on! Cheers

  22. There is hope. Get in touch with Scud, and ask him if he still has some available.

  23. I see your point, but I find that a V11 without that fairing looks half naked. The fairing balances out the bumptious rear end that they all have.

  24. So, update: She's back on the road w/ a temp fix. I got her put back together with the OG spacer and shims, well shim actually (total length is 113.1 mm). I've done 200+ miles, hit triple digit mph at least once, so far. No issues. I'm waiting on delivery of parts and will update once completed. Again, thank you everyone that pitched in on this. all your suggestions and help was invaluable. Cheers

  26. You know Chuck, they made an announcement regarding an orphaned Samsung phone. It was after dinner before the 50/50. Hell, you could've won the hard luck story if you'd have madeup a story that you lost your phone at the waterfall when being rescued by the Kansas Monties or something. I think I see that phone floating away..... someone search that kid in the red shirt for Chuck's phone.
