I'm looking for back-up offers. I made an agreement with another member who wants the bike, but needs to sell something else first. If he doesn't buy the Nero Corsa by April 15, then it can go to someone else. I'd prefer to deal locally, as I have heaps of original bits and goodies that can go with bike at full price - but will cooperate with shipping if needed. The bike has a California black plate "V11LMNS" that can go with the bike if it's staying in California. Asking price is $8,000 with bags and racks or $7,500 without. Here is a thread I did about the bike, where you can see everything. I have barely ridden it since doing all the work - because I got busy with life and the bike had an intermittent starting problem. I've since replaced the battery with a Shorai, and it does start up now. But I think it still needs attention and a "decent tune-up" Reason for selling... I bought Kindoy's Griso, and am keeping my Scura, along with still too many other bikes. Hard choices... but somebody's got to go. I just put a set of factory Titanium pipes on the bike. These were a used set that I bought from another member. They're in better than average condition, with a couple small dings/rubs. While the above thread documents most everything I did, here is quick list of non-stock bits: Speedhut gauges (GPS speedo) Ghezzi-Brian Carbon Belly Pan Ghezzi-Brian Carbon rear fender Rizoma fluid tanks Pazzo shorty levers Remote clutch bleeder hose Extensive powder-coating Kit Racing Titanium pipes (high hangers come with, but I don't have the small adapters for the hangers) Shorai battery All three bags and rack could be available separately now for $650 if somebody wants them. Hepco Becker fully powdercoated racks, and all three bags - the cool ones with the Moto Guzzi logos, and the paintable panels on the side bags.4 points

It's an awesome bike, The most rare and sought after of all the V-11's in my eyes..Even more difficult to find than the Rosso Corsa. I love that Black..and with all the tasteful little touches you always do to your bike..ie; Gauges,Powder coating, etc, and that un-obtainable Exhaust system..along with your attention to detail..it is a prize find. A number of years ago my first V-11..of the Seven I have owned , was your old Greenie which you went thru...An awesome bike that got me hooked on MG Someone will get a Winner!!!3 points

Thanks for your digging @docc. I talked to the Wilburs dealer In CA. He gave me that info along with proper unweighted and sag measurements. I will do the figuring to check it out. Learning something everyday!3 points

Not silly at all. There is not enough of that positive stuff in the world. And yes, the forum is fantastic. I'm glad I found it.3 points

He did some more, say, "palatable" music, such as "For the love of God", but his guitar style is really technical and grammatical, perfect and very square. If you simply compare Steve's music with Eric Johnson's "Cliff of Dover" with long intro, I mean, how can you not appreciate the sound prowess.2 points

I did not know abut Dr. John's mechanical engineering background. From his obituary, linked above: "Studying mechanical engineering at Lehigh University (always with a love of fixing things), he applied his inherent talent and skills to help improve human performance." I am so enjoying the motolitaliane publication, "Dr. John's Moto Guzzi." It is giving me a renewed perspective and respect for his contributions that ultimately became our beloved V11 SpineFrames.2 points

If you're wondering what the heck that pic is above, it is the Lehigh fight song. We happen to have two alum in my little family, one being a full fledged ME, so we have a few T-shirts kicking around. Along with Dr John's family, our community here and Lehigh lost a good one.2 points

I admire his command on the instrument, but I never really liked his music. I feel that it is not melodious enough. I have the same feeling about Yngwie Malmsteen pick sweeping. This rapid succession of notes is very difficult to achieve, but not for me. Gary Moore in his blues days would really be my favorite. I also liked Danny Gatton a lot. He was incredibly good at keeping an independent bass line.2 points

Good luck convincing anyone these days that letting someone else go ahead could be in their best interests. More likely to stir infuriation.2 points

Notice that this is biased.... They should have included someone from the Netherlands, and Greece....1 point

The Historic plate here in Maryland is still an "every two years" deal. But it is cheaper and avoids an inspection at time of purchase (vehicles here are inspected only at time of purchase unless they get a safety ticket out on the road). So people here are seriously abusing the Historic plate option, ignoring the rules relating to usage and miles. People will buy an old beat up Honda Civic or the like and get a Historic plate for it. That way they save some money on registration and they don't have to get it through inspection (more money saved, plus the vehicle probably would not pass). Generally when people start abusing the system like this the system gets changed. It is why we can't have nice things. Give people an option to keep truly historic vehicles on the road for light duty usage and the next thing you know people are driving dangerous pieces of junk to work and back to save a few bucks. Maryland bases registration date on date of original registration. A trick I used to do years ago is if you are a day late renewing your registration you can move the registration month back one month, the new stickers would use the following month. But they seem to have caught on to that and I don't think you can do that anymore. Now the renewal only gets you a year sticker, your month sticker never changes. If you want them all to renew at the same time in Maryland you can do it, but you would probably have to cancel all your plates (perhaps at the end of the riding season). Then at the beginning of the next riding season you could re-register all your vehicles at the same time (or at least in the same month). That would give them all the same renewal month. Seems like too much trouble to me, but if it really was something you want it can be done. I would think the same trick would work in almost any state.1 point

FWIW....Tennessee annual purchase date registration is a pita imho, I would definitely get in trouble. However, I like the registration game Ohio has the same 25 yo "historical" tag option with conditions and requires renewal every 50 years....yeah, 50 years. With all the junk I have the historical option saves me alot in annual registration fees. Further, Ohio allows owners to replate vehicles with tags from that era. My '71 cb350 has a plate that was "minted" in '71...yellow with black lettering, the '72 cl350 & Eldo have plates stamped out in '72...they're dark blue with yellow lettering. It's kinda neat running around on an old bike with a plate that was stamped out in the same year the bike was manufactured. One of my riding buds, who has an old Eldo too teases me that his Eldo is original, whereas mine is not because I did the gen to alternator conversion. My response is that my bike has the original plate that was issued to the bike in '72, so there! I had bought the bike from the original owner and he managed to save & include the plate with the bike purchase. Although my friend got his Eldo from his dad, his originally issued registration plate is long gone. We have fun goofing on each other over stupid stuff...obviously, I guess. On another note, I have a 4' x 8' 1500lb gvwr trailer I bought new in '90 for $400, I use it two or three times a year. In the 33 years of ownership it has cost me over $1200 in registration fees.1 point

Me too....it wasn't the "high cam/cold start assembly" though, it was a commonly available chrome plated rusty friction type piece of 5#it.1 point

Yeah, as bad as things are now it does not seem like this is a move for the better of the sport. I guess this is the world we live in now, where things like sport are just a vehicle for those with money to make more money. It is not just MotoGP, many sports have fallen into the same trap. MotoGP is one of the holdouts, perhaps.1 point

Yes, I feel pretty much the same. I believe Steve Vai played on some Frank Zappa albums, and was listed in the credits as "stunt guitar". That comes pretty close...1 point

Here's a link to a picture I posted of my gearbox in neutral before fitting the cover : https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/topic/20201-re-engineering-the-shift-spring/?do=findComment&comment=2727561 point

No idea what you are doing here but if you have moved the selector "hoses" with the cover off then it's just a matter of moving them back with your fingers into a position equally between the fully selected positions on both gears. Then you have the selector in neutral and dry fit the cover to confirm the positioning then carefully remove the cover, apply sealant and fit. Phil1 point

I found this considered post by a fellow on AdvRider: "The first numbers appear to be the ID of the spring in millimeters with both ends specified. The second number appears to be the spring rate in Newtons/mm (conversion = 5.71:1 to get to lbs/inch). And, the third appears to be the spring length in millimeters. " I would think that the spring rate would suit your weight. If the sag is acceptable, I would leave it alone.1 point

Silly I know, but I wanted to say thanks to all of you. It's nice to have similar passionate people to discuss details that only we'd understand. Roll on!1 point

I haven't seen those. I own an old school KTM, a two stroke 440 EXC. While I would buy a KTM, I don't care for their origami styling. Too many edges and folds, too angular. I like the Husqvarna styling better. But that is what it comes down to, which one of the three looks best to you because they all perform the same.1 point

FINALLY! An exciting race to watch again...that was entertaining. Let's hope Acosta doesn't burn up too fast in his exhuberance and is around for sometime to come. I'm dismayed at how poorly former super star Quartararo is doing these days. Great to see Marc contending again, and the track...a BEAUTY! Time to watch some replays and post race interviews in a few hours!1 point

I actually have no idea how well the riders get on with each other, but I can't agree with that opinion. Friendship definitely does not exclude intense rivalry. Just go for a ride with a couple of good mates on a good bit of road, and observe what happens. Rivalry without a friendly basis, or at least mutual respect, only leads to nasty incidents on the field of competition. EDIT: I just looked him up. The bloke is not even 20 years old, and Spanish. He's probably still half-drunk on his own testosterone. Anuvveredit: apart from that, those blokes are doing somethng that nobody else can even remotely fully understand, except for other people who are doing the same thing. Of course they buddy up to each other.1 point

The sticking gasket from the old filter is real and should be check each and every filter change. "Hand Tight" may have applied to external automotive filters, but is a formula for disaster on a V11 . . .1 point
