  1. don't love the design myself either, but this is the reasoning for it:

  2. In fairness, a trade for a ktm 390 adventure (etc) would be a seismic shift. You gotta love your greenie… they deserve and need the love 😎

  3. Ha ha I'm just about to replace mine this week hopefully. The current Pirelli Angel GT 2's have 18,500 kays on them and still handle ok..... My last ride to the office was cold and very very wet and still no slips slides etc and my ride home on the fun twisty bits were also wet and still no moments but I reckon they'll go downhill quickly from here! Bloody phenomenal really and will look to put another pair of these on! Cheers Ps I also run a 160/60 on the rear

  5. Wow. Love how they turned out. I'm partial to this green and they did a great representation of it. It will perfectly cover the HD logo on one of my jackets. Thank you again sir.

  8. The most complex and contentious subject in the automotive and motorcycle world, tyres. In theory a wider tyre on the same size rim should have a flatter profile so put more rubber on the ground even upright so all other other things being equal less weight/square CM you should get improved tyre life but it's obviously far more complex than that. One thing I learned a long long time ago was the thing that truly kills rear tyre mileage is stop start traffic conditions. Every time you accelerate the mass of the bike from a standing start it multiplies the wear exponentially compared to steady state riding. And I don't mean hard launches either just the normal bike riders urban riding from a stop to 60kph or so. Add riding on our type of not so smooth B roads on the weekends in our hotter weather and rear tyre life is pretty poor. Cool European conditions, smooth B roads and Autobahn cruising makes for decent tyre life. Phil

  9. So, yes, Tenni had a black seat (like all other V11), but were delivered with a brown (faux suede) seat. I would consider it a good sign the brown seat has stayed with the bike.

  10. Neither am I. As far as I know, the longevity is in a direct relationship to the compound, not the tyre size.

  11. I certainly do: 160/60. Not sure about the 160/70 on the short frame Sports. Pretty sure I've never heard of 130 on the front of a V11. Plus I'm really not convinced a bigger tire will automatically provide more longevity. (Just a reminder that all LongFrame V11, 2002-on, have a 5.5" rear rim that were delivered with a 180 while many find a 170 nicely suited to the larger rim.)

  12. No idea. He hasn't been around in three weeks, from what I see. I asked him a question about his bike on the 11th. He was last here on the 12th so I assume he saw my question. But he may have also seen the debate pick up about the octane and bailed. Or maybe he is just busy..... I certainly hope he is on the path towards a happy Guzzi.

  13. "Cool" passes from one generation to the next. I don't think the Stones or the Beatles will ever go out of style like Frank or Elvis, at least not in my lifetime. I think those bands were not only revolutionary but had enough self awareness and genuine quality that transcends style. They've had a hell of run, from the '64 and still going. Not perhaps at the very top anymore but still near the top of their game. The remaining Dead are able to reassemble and have relied upon a family of musicians and dedicated following.

  14. Yes, I think Hackney is the best Stones record since Tattoo You, although Stripped is really good but it's all legacy stuff. This record isn't in the category of the current big hits. I'm guessing the Stones fans are too old and the music isn't relating to the younger folk. But the music business is changed. The band rocks, they're really solid group, the songs are some gems. So for as what shows and where I'll go this year is a real question mark. At least I can say I've seen the Stones a few time. The last time in 10k seat indoor arena with a 2nd stage and walkway. Mick looked my in the eye every time he turned left, I was his visual stage mark. They played "Moonlight Mile", the only tour they ever played so far as I know. Did they open with Honky Tonk or Start Me Up? or?
