  1. I have had 5 different muffler combo's on my bike as a 2 valver and 2 different cross overs and the bike ran well/exactly the same on all of them. Below is the "delta" map of a 2000 V11 Sport main fuel map compared to the factory "Titanium" main map. So you know the expensive new ECU they supply with the Titanium mufflers same as Ducati used to do with the approved Termi exhausts. Note there is zero difference in the fuel map. Ducati used to do a similar thing, sell you an $1800ecu with Termi mufflers and just add 3% fuel everywhere which wasn't necessary. My 1198 has a Full Ti Akropovic exhaust and what do Akra say to do when you fit their system? Nothing. Fit it and ride it which I have done and it's fine. You want to get the absolute maximum out of a set of mufflers or exhaust combo on pretty much any bike then you'll need to map it but for 99% of bikes 99% of the time it isn't necessary in my experience. You might need to tweak the Co and the air bleeds a little but other than that install and ride.

  3. I have an 02 LeMans that had angle drive, but converted to cable drive only. Straitened out some of the metal tube curve and rerouted the cable. It comes real close to the throttle rod and doesn't touch. Has been real smooth for 8K miles.

  4. Don't bother getting into a discussion it's pointless. Once someone is on a bandwagon and gets feeling all warm and fuzzy with the other climate warriors involved in this now 2 trillion dollar " climate emergency" industry there's no changing their ideas. You just need to wait it out or the next big panic comes along. Like "peak oil" the "ozone hole" the "70's oil panic" the "Y2K bug" Eventually another train pulls out of the "panic station" and they all jump on that. The next generation won't be worrying about the climate they'll be too busy scrapping old wind turbines, solar panels and Lithium batteries and getting a headache figuring how to do that without wrecking the planets ecology.   5. Hey Lagrasta! well…. I have just got back into my house from a 4 day trip south to north of Portugal. There is a publicised route that runs from Faro in the south to Chaves (pronounced shoves). Don’t tell anyone but the roads here beat the Alps by a mile. The Alps has higher mountains, but a ton more tourists and speed cameras. There is a lot of info on the N2 route on Google and a thread on Advrider. https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/n2-portugal.1580803/ But this is just a very small part of what Portugal can offer. I came back via Serra da Estrella. This was even better. Just stunning. And I have ridden the alps, dolomites picos and Pyrenees etc. But that’s all for a longer tour. If you are hotspotting.. Lisbon and Oporto have plenty rental opportunities and great riding near by. Around Lisbon ride out of Lisbon on the Marginal to Cascais stay on the N247 north up the coast to Guincho then Malveira da Serra. After this you can continue North on 247 and take a quick stop at Cabo da Rocca. (The most western point in EU) If you have time Azenhas do Mar is. Great place for food. Sinatra is a must see place and can be visited on the way back. It is very busy there on a weekend. South of Lisbon, go across the old bridge (Ponte April 25th) and route yourself to the coastal road of Arribida. This is used a lot for new bike launches. N379-1. Halfway along there is a small road that goes down to the beaches portinho da Arrabida. Fantastic place for lunch. Continue to Setúbal and take the ferry to Troia. It’s another world over there but sandy and flat for a while. I like it there because it’s more original and the food is great and cheap. If you want to go further then the Alentejo is wonderful for slow touring. (Can be fast also if you want…) Evora is a very nice place to visit and happens to have the best Guzzi dealer in Portugal. It’s Piaggio and not a big place but the people are great. They organise the yearly Guzzi owners day. Had a fantastic time with them. You can ride there for lunch and be back in lisbon for dinner. All on national roads. There is a dealer in Lisbon if you just want to window shop etc. Service with them was not to my liking and I am not the only one with that view. Porto this is easier.. everywhere is great! 😂 Follow the Douro river out of town in land. Jump on the N222 (voted most picturesque road in Europe). There are loads of vineyards to visit for wine and port. Or just stop where ever something takes your fancy. Braga and Guimares are great cities to visit. hope that gets you started. If there is anything more specific or you want to do or if you need some help finding bike rental then I will be glad to assist. you will have a great time, that is guaranteed.

  7. I get that it's a big blow for those who love and appreciate gasoline motorcycles, but it’s about time this happened. Whether we like it or not, we need to start thinking about the environment and try to fix the consequences of our actions over the past few decades. While many will argue that banning the production of ICE motorcycles won’t solve the problem, I think it’s a good move. After all, the production of all sorts of electric scooters and bikes is really picking up. I personally prefer a more relaxed pace, so scooters are my choice. But e-bikes are just as good as gas bikes. So, one era ends, but another begins.

  8. I believe that Daytona pillion footrest hangers are used with the TI kit. I also believe that you can mount the TI kit using the std hangers if you want the lower slung look. I hope that you know that those cans are really easy to dent, so look after them. Wait, what's that in the plastic bag?

  10. The 'nut' (little crimped on ring, right?) is there so the inner doesn't fall out of the outer, for instance if your cable comes loose from your transmission. I don't think it matters for operation as long as it has clearance in the ferrule.

  11. After 21 years with my V11 Sport it's time to move on. I lack the time, space, and dedication to maintain it and I'm wanting something lighter for my occasional backroad rides. The good: one adult owner, most of the usual V11 tweaks/fixes/upgrades and regular maintenance have been performed, strong low-mileage engine (about 21,500 mi) runs well, nearly roadworthy, and it's got the looks and feel of that raunchy girl from high school. Sale will include a good number of new and used spares and consumables. The bad: cosmetically rough, non-functional speedo/odometer, and it's got a clutch (or clutch actuation?) issue that I don't understand. It's initially ridable when cold, but begins misbehaving in an erratic/intermittent way as it warms up. The clutch slave was recently dealer serviced to no avail, so I'm opting out. I think that there's a good opportunity here for someone who wants a potentially easy project or near complete parts bike. $1200 OBO; local pickup only. PM if interested.

  12. There are some very touchy moments, especially with the president of Ukraine and some of the veterans. There is no commentary on this video, it is just to be watched and imagine all these veterans 80 years younger on that day. When I did the army, I was 20 years old, and my regiment had the opportunity to meet with some of the veterans that chose to remain in France after the war. The landing on Omaha beach was simply impossible to describe for how brutal it was for the very first waves of soldiers. All the heads of states are being greeted by the President of France, and each of you here will recognize their own head of state. Interesting that in many cases, the French President uses the informal way to greet, but not with Prince William. Some of the discussions between the veterans and the heads of States are audible. It is a 3 hours long video; if you get the opportunity to happen around there, on your Guzzi or not, I suggest you go to Omaha Beach, and take stock of all the souls discovering these sands for the first and last time in their lives...

Thanks mate. Kindoy2: yes of course and that is done. Thanks! Pressure: Makes perfect sense especially on 4 strokes. (2 strokes are different kettle of fish of course). Headers, crossovers and these days, the catalytic converter, all have a lot more impact on exhaust gas extraction. On the Indian motorcycle forum I frequent, a lot of guys have removed their catalytic converters and LOST torque due to lack of back pressure. Some of them are not very happy about that! I'll pull the plugs now and photograph them. Then fit the Mistrals and check plug color after a few long rides to make sure its not running to lean, but I don't expect any noticeable difference.   17. You may be able to make the cable work with only one angle-drive if you only have one working angle drive. I seem to recall some V11's did not come with an angle-drive at the transmission. The angle-drive at the transmission helps with the cable routing, but it may not be required. And the angle-drives do tend to be a failure point. But I could be wrong, I am pretty old.

  18. Yes. they used the hangers from the 94-99 1100 Sport, with an extra flat bracket used to get the correct angle. I can give more detail when I get back home this evening. I had a set of those and they were the same as came with the Ti kit.

  19. Yeah, the inner cable only slides in one way as Pressureangle said. You want the cable oriented so that it only can slide in from the speedo end. That way if the cable comes loose from the transmission the inner cable will not fall out.

  20. Phil's spot on. Here's the thing about exhausts; unless the system you are replacing is poorly designed and the system you replace it with is very well designed, they have near zero effect on engine tune. 99.9% of exhaust effect on fueling happenss in the headpipes and crossover, if there is one. After that it's sound mitigation. Even then, a quiet muffler has very little effect except at WOT. The main advantage to an exhaust change is weight, particularly if it has a catalytic converter. And of course we all love the boom.

  23. Apart from anything else that it might be, be aware of the breather hose that runs from the frame behind the steering head to the top of the motor just in front of the gearbox. This is the hose part #18 on the parts diagramm https://wendelmotorraeder.de/oelpumpe-v11-nakedle-manns-01-02-ex-30_3006_300602_30060202_3006020230_300602023003.html The hose gets old and hard, and cracks. The cracks seem to generally happen at the first bend away from the ends. When the front goes, it can look like a leak from the front of the motor somewhere. When the back goes, it can look like the rear main seal is gone, i.e. the seal around the output shaft to the clutch. If you have just bought the bike, it is a good idea to have a look at that hose as part of the "getting to know the bike" ritual, even if it isn't the cause of your current leak. It is a part that has to be replaced periodically.
