  1. This guys stuff is really good and his videos have backed my life long decision to never fly in anything other than large commercial jets with big companies. It's no guarantee of course but some of the things on this channel are rather disturbing and very sad. It also backs my other decision when a young man in the aviation industry to not take up private flying. I always thought I'd be able to attain an unrestricted pilots licence but I'd never thought I'd have the time and money to attain "expert" status and then do enough hours to maintain the skills. I've always considered piloting to be a very serious business. I think I chose right and went with motorcycles.

  2. Not a big turnout because of early off and on rain, but the Norton guys don't mind the precip. @swooshdavehad his Interstate at the head of the pack and the Norton Club was there in full force. I had my Coppa there. Just one other Guzzi. We all lucked out though, rain stopped by 8AM.

  3. Same leak on mine. The breather hose checked out fine. I sealed the TPS with a small amount of RTV to see if that's the source. I have a timing cover gasket on hand if it turns out to be the problem.

  5. I’m not sure if I’m in the right place for this question. I do have an oil leak. I’m guessing because it’s not had a good run for a while. I’m looking at it and I recon it’s from the timing chain gasket? If anyone could direct me to the right place on this issue would be greatly appreciated 👍🏻

  7. Had some great seats for Joe Purdy and Tedeschi Trucks Band. Some stuff I hadn't heard from them were The Letter and Beck's Bolero for a closer.

  9. Yeah, airplanes. I grew up thinking I'd be a fighter pilot, but at age I realized they were all jets and the romance (of youth) of dogfights was pretty much gone. Truly, I never had sufficient working memory to be anything more than a private pilot, and had neither resources nor reason to fly. Helicopters, now, that's a different story. After extensive travel by rotary in military craft, I'll say that if the resources show up I'll do that. Given my history with motorcycles, it's unlikely that aircraft would be more dangerous in my hands lol I have very good spacial awareness and sense of direction. I don't get seasick. I'm not afraid of heights. I consider myself marginal for licensed flight. There is no profit in shaming the dead, but this woman really shanked the ball and wasn't overconfident- she was ignorant of her own shortcomings, which was kinda the point of this video.

  10. Waist of time and and. I’ve been wanting for someone to explain to me, there was palm trees on Svalbard and Hardangervidda here thousands of years ago, no Cadilacs idling then. Cycles. End of bla bla from me concerning this matter. Back to our beloved Guzzi engines. Cheers Tom.

  11. Don't bother getting into a discussion it's pointless. Once someone is on a bandwagon and gets feeling all warm and fuzzy with the other climate warriors involved in this now 2 trillion dollar " climate emergency" industry there's no changing their ideas. You just need to wait it out or the next big panic comes along. Like "peak oil" the "ozone hole" the "70's oil panic" the "Y2K bug" Eventually another train pulls out of the "panic station" and they all jump on that. The next generation won't be worrying about the climate they'll be too busy scrapping old wind turbines, solar panels and Lithium batteries and getting a headache figuring how to do that without wrecking the planets ecology. 12. how it looks (without adapter) overlaid on a stock 2003 hanger for comparison let me know if I have forgotten anything. measurements are not 'machinist' accurate, but it'll get you there

  13. pencil outline of adapter and how it sits when combined left hole to right top hole is 70mm, or same as mount bracket welded to the frame left hole to right bottom hole is 60mm or the same as the high mount bracket right bottom hole to right top hole is 23mm, which gives the desired angle. adapter is 6mm flat steel. the cool cutaway at the bottom is for looks and not needed.

  16. You guys are phenomenal. I wish you were all here in Seattle, because i'd buy each one of you a beer! Phil: That pretty much what I understood from reading your lengthy posts on the issue. Thanks mate. Kindoy2: yes of course and that is done. Thanks! Pressure: Makes perfect sense especially on 4 strokes. (2 strokes are different kettle of fish of course). Headers, crossovers and these days, the catalytic converter, all have a lot more impact on exhaust gas extraction. On the Indian motorcycle forum I frequent, a lot of guys have removed their catalytic converters and LOST torque due to lack of back pressure. Some of them are not very happy about that! I'll pull the plugs now and photograph them. Then fit the Mistrals and check plug color after a few long rides to make sure its not running to lean, but I don't expect any noticeable difference. Thank you again fine gentlemen!

  18. If you find out the thread somewhere here, I had that very problem in 2022. I spread talcum and found the origin of the leak was, as @audiomick acquaintance pointed out, the stock gasket. The replacement gasket is metallic and much better suited.

  19. clean it off and spray some talcum powder on it. You should be able to trace the leak. I had a timing cover gasket leak.

  20. And another thing. I haven't had the problem yet, but when I bought my Le Mans I was advised by a very, very well informed acquaintance to get in, amongst other things, a spare timing cover gasket. In his opinion, which I trust implicitly, the gasket is prone to developing a leak. I haven't actually seen anything to that effect here, but perhaps other members could comment. As far as localising the leak goes, clean everything up impeccably. Go for a bit of a ride, and then dust the suspect areas with talcum powder (scented or not doesn't make a difference...). That tends to make a frightful mess, but shows up even very small leaks very well, and helps a lot in seeing where the oil is really coming from.

  21. Apart from anything else that it might be, be aware of the breather hose that runs from the frame behind the steering head to the top of the motor just in front of the gearbox. This is the hose part #18 on the parts diagramm https://wendelmotorraeder.de/oelpumpe-v11-nakedle-manns-01-02-ex-30_3006_300602_30060202_3006020230_300602023003.html The hose gets old and hard, and cracks. The cracks seem to generally happen at the first bend away from the ends. When the front goes, it can look like a leak from the front of the motor somewhere. When the back goes, it can look like the rear main seal is gone, i.e. the seal around the output shaft to the clutch. If you have just bought the bike, it is a good idea to have a look at that hose as part of the "getting to know the bike" ritual, even if it isn't the cause of your current leak. It is a part that has to be replaced periodically.

  22. @Drahchir, if the leak is on the left a common source is the crank position sensor. This is the sensor in front of the cylinder with the two hex drive fasteners. Sometimes, just snugging up the fasteners is enough to address the leak. Otherwise, it uses a small Viton O-ring (#112 SAE or metric equivalent). Be mindful of the thin spacer as it indexes the cam timing. These sensors might also leak through the wiring leading me to coat mine in JB Weld epoxy many years ago.

  28. @audiomick This is for you; to be listened at loud volume on a decent HiFi system. This was recorded in Berlin (Germany), 2015. Lucienne Renaudin is 16 years old here. This is the very well known (among Trumpet players) Hummel Concerto for Trumpet. For those who do not have a particular affinity with classical music and trumpet in particular, skip to the third movement, the Rondo. The video starts at the second movement, the Andante. This is a bit personal and nostalgic to me, since I started learning trumpet at her age, and kept at it for seven years. Only, I never liked the instrument. I wanted to play guitar. Listening to her grandiose and perfect execution makes me want to go back to those days....

  29. Accordion again. This bloke was big in the german speaking countries through the nineties. The accordion he is playing is one of these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steirische_Harmonika At the start of the video one can hear how important the bass side of the instrument can be. Part of the fun of mixing a band with one of those is getting that out, and making it sit with the bass guitar, should there be one. By the way, even if you think you can understand a bit of german, don't bother. They're Austrian, and singing in dialect. I can barely understand what he is singing, if at all.

  33. Dang, this is some great stuff. Some I know - some new. My favorite genre is the Blues - hard to pick just one or two favorites. But if you've never seen this Jam Session with Stevie Ray Vaughn and Albert King, well... go grab yourself a couple beers and enjoy. I had the opportunity to see both of these guys in concert. Albert was a big influence on Stevie Ray (and Jimi Hendrix).

  34. One of my other favorites: Soundgarden. I'm a big grunge fan, except Nirvana, way too depressive for me. I saw them live in Amsterdam a while ago... what a deception! A performance w/o any effort to capture the audience. Plus, the volume was above pain level! Just ridiculous. My guess is that they visited too many 'coffee shops' the night before
