  1. Hah! I just lectured a 20-something today about the value of learning to enjoy fantasy without feeling the need to implement. Or regret not implementing. I say muse away - you've earned it! Silly old me has been fantasizing about doing track days At this point, I need one reliable and low-maintenance but not completely boring bike for curvy backroads. Peppy cheerleader sounds about right. Not as visceral or exciting as the V11, but still helps to clear my head and get my yah-yahs out. Thanks.

  4. Nothing on the V11 today. I rode it a few days ago. No change: it still works and it still has the dreaded constant-rev splutter. I had hoped that might have magically healed itself, but no luck there. Today I took the Breva 750 out for a couple of hours. I'm happy to be able to report that the rev-limiter works reliably and accurately every time.

  5. Francesco Bagnaia got married yesterday. I don't remember who said it, but the writing on the wall is that you lose your competitive edge after you tie the knot. That you are no longer by yourself, influences your mindset. I am not talking girlfriends, but commitment after you are lawfully married. How does being a hawk on track may be affected by the other party. I often see families in the box, and I wonder how it affects or distract from the concentration necessary to achieve greatness.

  8. Ok, we all know that the average Guzzi owner isn’t exactly youthful. In our group anyone under 60 is classified as a sprog (youngster). So why has the pub landlord left a bouncy castle for us

  9. Your "the looks and feel of that raunchy girl from high school." had me musing on the memories for longer than an old guy should. And, your nice new one seems more like the popular cheerleader. Anyway, good luck with the sale; still miss my Ballabio. Bill

  10. This just happened, so I may need to update garage signage. The V11 is still here/for sale and even so, I occasionally experience seller's regret

  11. Following a weekend of riding on wet, sodden roads (another appalling wash out of a UK summer), I cleaned the filth off my burgundy V11 today

  13. Sunday at the Mallory Park bike festival (with classic racing) Poor weather with heavy downpours - look at the sky above the Guzzi tent. Good selection of Guzzi’s, a club member was out on the track with his MK2 Le Mans
