  1. Yes, finally. My pix of SSR XX. Lots of reasons for my tardiness in gathering, culling, and adding captions, including general sloth and lethargy. These are, if not quite ready for prime time, they are probably "good enough." Even if barely that, consider that I started with 452, and deleted 300+. In other words, could have been worse. As usual with my pix, opens in “collage landscape,” and you can hover your cursor over the individual to see the captions, but those are easier to read in slideshow format. 3. I didn't see the fuse . It was fractured , not blown . I saw this about 30 yrs ago on a F-150 w/no horn or turn signals or something ? Pulling it out of the holder and it looked good. Holding it up to the sunlight and you could see it broken off to one side . Good lessons are ones you NEVER forget !

  4. Today I complete my last stop…#50! On my way up to Kansas for a couple of days at a small rally… There are still 2 or 3 more stops I’d like to do just for fun and historical significance… Along the way I managed to fit in a few other important musical locations for renowned artists from the past…I’m sure some of you will appreciate the stops! Some of the night riding was just spectacular!

  7. I found the theme took me back to an algebra class, age thirteen, when a college-aged teacher's-aid lass was assigned to our class. The boys were all dumbfounded. I did very poorly at the algebra, but launched a lifelong interest in "anatomy and physiology" . . .

  9. If you can't stand the price of the LED filled fuses . Purchase Littlefuse , Bussman or a good known brand . There is an ATC and ATO style . ATC is Closed and ATO is Open to where you can probe w/a test light.

  12. Everything I post is from memory. I merely said IDK enough to explain them . I know what DIN stands for . It is German and it is similar to our JIC ( Joint Industry Council) and SAE (Society of American Engineers ) . I am not familiar enough to recognize & explain the fittings. Also , Loctite "purple" would have told me all I needed to know.

  13. I have one from my 2000 V11 sport. I am in Nevada , so it would have to be shipped. It's in good shape with no tears.

  14. Thanks, @audiomick, that is one I have mounted. FWIW, mine was "impact tested" in a sad incident and bent back into shape in the vise. Any OEM Guzzi lever would have snapped off, broken, with no chance of repair.

  15. AOR was a great period of music. Whether Sly, Yes, CSN&Y, Dead, Zep, Stones, Isaac, Feat, Santana. All there. Public Radio was doing jazz and classical. Top 40 was still a thing and Country was still twanging. Then MTV. I guess it was gone by the early 80's? Now we have "classic rock" -anything but. Eagles wannbes on country stations. No jazz anymore. (Boring) Classical only to prevent NPR news from being heard. Hip hop and Pop are going strong. Thank goodness for internet radio.

  16. @Klaus756 do some research into how the Lomax was built https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lomax_(kit_car) It was based on the Citroen 2CV, front wheel drive, and used the 2CV motor, gearbox and front axles. There are a number of them getting around with Guzzi motors in them, so it is apparently possible to fit the Guzzi motor to the Citroen gearbox somehow. That might be a blind alley for your purposes, but it might be new direction of thought. PS: the "reverse trike" was popular for a while in the UK because, I gather, of a loophole in the Road Tax laws.

  18. German, actually. Look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsches_Institut_für_Normung Pertinant is this There is a DIN standard for everything, it seems. And it seems that the DIN standard has been taken over as a European standard for nearly everything. A4 Paper, for instance, is a DIN standard. The annoying thing is, although it is a "non-profit organisation", if you go looking for a DIN standard in the Interweb, all you ever find is a site where you can buy a copy of the DIN standard for a price that cannot be considered cheap.

  19. Agreed on looking for why fuses blow. Certainly, the Sport ignition switches are easily accessible, yet we had to access a LeMans (Rosso Corsa) switch for a fellow who had lost his key. It was accomplished, but by a younger, more nimble fellow, with smaller hands . . .

  21. The threads on the fitting. It is just to prevent it to come undone from the vibrations, and not meant to be a seal. I used the "weak" one, so it can be removed if it needed to be. The bike is 20 years old now, I don't think these fittings were ever touched before. I have been riding the V11 extensively those past three years. When I got the bike in 2021, it had only 8,800 miles. It now has 35,000 miles.

  23. Hi friends, I rarely come here lately. A couple of years ago I bought myself a KTM 1290 and I was already thinking about selling my V11, since it was standing idle in the garage, but the KTM breaks down more often than I expected and while it is being repaired I ride my trusty Guzzi. Recently the motorcycle has become difficult to start when cold even with the throttle handle. I have to crank the starter for a long time. Also, my regulator relay bracket was torn off and it flew under my wheel while driving, tearing out the front wheel fairing. So for now I ride without it and secured the regulator relay with cable ties to the oil supply hoses. Otherwise, everything is fine with me, I am alive and well, glad to see familiar nicknames here and I hope you, my dear friends, are also okay.

  25. I was 10 years old when Clapton played with them. I still had a year or two to go before I made the switch from AM to FM. It was a great time to switch though. Early days of NY FM radio were groundbreaking, with some of the best radio jocks in the business.

  29. -OR- you can install a bleeder banjo bolt at the high point in the system, the clutch master. I did that and it eliminated the air problems. https://raceboltuk.com/titanium-c4/titanium-banjo-bolts-c1188/racebolt-titanium-banjo-bolt-m10-x-1-00mm-single-with-6mm-bleed-nipple-p45227#attribute[12]=163

  33. The weathers been so bad here, as summer rapidly recedes in the rear view mirror, that I was confined to the workshop this weekend. Greenie sump & timing chain covers off for powder coating, Roper plate to be fitted, tatty belly pan, side panels, fender etc to be resprayed…just hoping the paint shop does their job with color matching this Guzzi green

  38. XX plans were scrubbed due to my good friend and riding brother having lost a gallant battle with lymphoma just a few weeks out from the weekend. He loved the time we spent at the spine raids, and thoroughly enjoyed the bourbon and chatter at the evening doings. He was looking forward to bringing his new bike, a KTM 790 Duke. Some of you will know him as the not-a-guzzi-yet guy that brought a different bike every time. Bill Warrick, on the left
