Oh good, glad I didn't fly half way around the world to miss great weather at home. The weather here is perfect. Yesterday evening we sat outside in the 24 degree sunny day, drank vino and listened to the steady stream of sports bikes going past on the very windy road past and below the villa. After we ate a simple meal we prepared ourselves with pomodoro, Mozzarella, basil and Bresaola. The Pomodoro and Basil were home grown and given to us by our hosts. The road surfaces here are perfectly smooth and grippy. Relaxation day today with a tour around the local area and a visit to the Mugello track. Only issue is I really don't want to leave. I suspect that the Scura is actually one of the more common V11 variants when you consider all the V11 variants available. The numbering seemed to increase demand. Similar thing happened with the Rosso Mandello. They made 300 numbered units. That was so popular that they made another 300 non-numbered units. But it's all mystery of Italian manufacturing. So welcome to the ongoing speculative inquiry. And enjoy the bike.3 points

I just finished mine this week-end too; on the Quota! I was aiming to do 54 leaving out the Texarkana Post-Office out, but I had not anticipated that the stops in the Panhandle were so distant one with the other. The light was coming down, and still had to get to Amarillo where I had planned to overnight. Then on the Saturday, I rode back all the way to Navasota, where I stayed to make it for the Pediatric Brain Cancer ride today. Today's was a very interesting experience for me. I will relate it in the appropriate section... So congratulation to you for completing the 50 stops! Next year too?2 points

In our Registry, I see thirteen numbers reported above 600 including S699 in New Zealand. So, I reckon they actually numbered them all. (Watching for confirmation from @Danny-NL to update S224 . . .2 points

You need to be careful about the rear shock length on the v11. If my memory serves you can't go much beyond and extra 10mm in length or you run into clearance issues with the front uni joint and the swingarm hole. If your Hyperpro is already lengthened. I havea Wilbers with a ride height adjuster on the swingarm end. Currently staying in this Tuscan Villa. Looking down into the valley you may just be able to make out the famous Mugello race track. We are less than 2 klms from it. The roads around here are so amazing I wonder why the need a track at all. There's a Porsche club using the track until tonight apparently. You can here them in the distance. Naturally nobody here complains about a bit of engine noise off in the distance, unlike home. Phil2 points

Before rebuilding the fork leg on the V-11 people said they had success with that plastic sheet to remove debris from the seal. I can't think of the name of it to save my life.1 point

I always liked Jewel eyed Judy from the same album. Saying Fleetwood Mac was better with Peter Green it's just times Big Love with Lindsey Buckingham is just another phase.1 point

Something about that song reminds me a bit of "Get it on".1 point

You've got to watch that, mate. I didn't want to leave the first time I went to Germany, so I went back. And I'm still here nearly 30 years later.1 point

Did the number plates go that high, or did Guzzi merely make double number plates like Ducati did with their limited edition Sport Classics. I remember showing up at a ride in Connecticutt where 2 guys showed up with the same limited edition numbered bike. You remember the 1000 Sports that came in the black and gold?1 point

My red frame had the lengthened hose and it was an assembled hose with a tee at the front fender. I just went to the radiator shop that makes SS hose assys. and he made me a shortened hose . I went from bars to clip-ons .1 point

Just for informational purposes, when we simply paste the address in the post, without using the "Link" [--] function, the window displays and can be played directly . . .1 point

With rebuilt heads on my1100 Sport, everything was tightened up regarding those oils lines. First testride, 4km, WHAT, left boot covered in oil. Something with the Orings?, no had to loosen up the fitting and retighting. A little conical fitting. What a mess in 4km, nothing wrong with oil pressure. What small things can do to make you happy. Cheers Tom.1 point

Today I complete my last stop…#50! On my way up to Kansas for a couple of days at a small rally… There are still 2 or 3 more stops I’d like to do just for fun and historical significance… Along the way I managed to fit in a few other important musical locations for renowned artists from the past…I’m sure some of you will appreciate the stops! Some of the night riding was just spectacular!1 point

Nothing today. The day before yesterday I took it out for a ride. Charge the battery a bit and so on. I thought it was happy to go out, started first time and ran pretty well. After I got back, I left the cover off to let it all cool down and thought to put it on when I went out shopping later on in the day, but forgot. Yesterday I was all set to ride the Breva 750 to work, and put the forgotten cover on the V11 before I (tried to) set off. What do I see? Apparently the entire oil content of the left fork on the ground. Bugger... So I went to start the Breva to go to work. For whatever reason, I hit the button with the throttle wide open. Probably flooded it, I think. It didn't start, and I kept on trying instead of giving it a few minutes to recover. Result: battery is flat. So tomorrow, I wont be doing anything to the V11 (again), but will be taking out the battery from the Breva to put it in the cellar where the charger is, and hoping that I haven't killed it. The fun never stops...0 points
