  3. To all in it's path ...good luck and stay safe! We've also had our share of crazy weather down here but luckily not as extreme as other parts of the country or world. It's heartbreaking seeing the devastation that this causes to people's lives...

  5. It would seem that is only one. Page 59 here https://guzzitek.org/parts_list/gb/1100/1100Quota_1998-2002_052014_PL(GB).pdf I believe p6x has an 1100 Quota, but the 1000 Quota apparently also has a single throttle body. 6. If you search for "Rubber Tank Straps" or "Fuel Tank Strap Rubber Backing" you will find lots of choices. EPDM, Buna N or Nitrile material will work fine.

  7. I may be completely wrong, but after 4 years of V11, and two years of looking for a Stelvio and then Quota, I do not get the feeling that Moto Guzzi is a hot ticket. At least not here, in Texas. If I was to sell my Le Mans, which I purchased in December 2020 for 6kUSD, 8800 miles, I would probably hope for 5kUSD max. And that's after all the known imperfections were cured. I got the Quota for 3kUSD, although I was probably only worth 2.5kUSD. The 2016 Stelvio NTX that I was considering in January 2023 is still unsold, currently priced for $6250 from its 2023 starting price $7500.

  8. I just drove a couple hours through the leeward edge of it. Just rain and no high winds. My old stomping ground on the Florida left coast got it. The storm surge is the worst. Not just a wall of fast moving water, but pushing trees and cars and debris. Then it has to flow back out....

  9. The south will be inundated with heavy rains today. Major flooding to come in these areas. @docc could be in this rain band...it is over a wide area. Hope all stay safe.

  10. Is a Tenni more rare than a Rosso Corsa, Nero Corsa? Maybe Is it a better bike than a Coppa Italia or Scura with their Ohlins suspension? Nope It is a beautiful model of a V11 Lemans? Absolutely

  12. The "dual sport" ride started between 09:00 and 09:30, and we came back shortly before 11:30. I think we did 55 miles of trails around Montgomery! my understanding was we were going to join the cruisers for the parade, but in fact, we did not. I told the leader of our group, that if I had known that we were going to do terrain, I would not have come. I was preoccupied to be on a 25 years old motorcycle, which I had never ridden in these conditions. But when the group got split at some point, the BMW 1250 GS falled back in the sand. The guy was just being me, staggered, but riding in the sand is nerve breaking since the bike is completely unsteady. So he got distanced. I really enjoyed the Quota. The fueling is the main drawback. I wish there was something that could be done. The bike would really be nice if it wasn't so jerky. The "Ride for Kids" was meant to start at 10:30; They came back between 11:30 and 12:00. Next year, they will do it in April, as many riders suffered from the heat. I met the MGTT director David Canada. Interesting fellow. He is from the East Coast. When he moved to Texas, he implemented the tour. Did you spot the other Guzzi? there was a 1400 California in the parade. The Quota drew a lot of attention from the other "dual sport" guys.

  13. Thanks for the clarification. I also recall the Two-for-One sale pricing. Yet, the confusion is not ours. Best regards to the seller of these nice V11. Caveat emptor , as always . . .

  15. Sorry for the confusion Docc. Here's the deal. I noticed the ebay ad a few days before the John Day rally. The ad read 2 V11s for sale, and a price of $13,000. No mention of $13k each. Hence the inference that $13k was for the pair, not just by me but also a friend that I sent the link to see if he wanted one. I guess we are both idiots. I checked the ad immediately after the rally and the price had been dropped to $9000. I still assumed it was for the pair as there was still no mention of $9k each. This price was only up for a day or two, then the ad went away. I no longer cared because it was at this time I had found a Greenie locally. It wasn't until Activpop mentioned he had spoken with the seller and the price was $13k each, that the $9k must have also been for each. I only posted in the first place because in the original ad, he gave more history and details, including the extra wheel, and thought maybe someone else had seen it.

  16. Big blow coming up the Gulf of Mexico, Florida Left Coast (Helene). Best wishes to my brothers and sisters in the mangroves, hammocks, and inland from the storm surge. Y'all take care, ya hear . . .

  17. He was asking 13k each at the rally. I never saw the ad for the reduced price of 9K for each. They were beautiful, but not priced for a quick sale. Lots of trailered miles on them now.

  20. Travelled from Rome to Milano on this beast a few weeks ago now. The Frecciarossa (red arrow) went business class and it ate up the journey at 280klm/hour. Five hundred klms in 3 hours. The Italians like fast stuff. In contrast the same journey here in Australia takes, well forever. Over 9 hours because we are too hopeless to built a train network with speeds over about 100kph. Aussies, we are good at 2 things, sport and leisure. High Tech? not so much. Phil

  21. Apologies, I was unaware of the "back story" with the Gutsibits supplied Roper plates. I'd also surmised (incorrectly?) that I'd missed the boat by a few months getting one from the guys supplying the plates from this forum, otherwise would have gone down that route in any case. Anyhow, I've just made a donation to Medicine sans Frontiers myself to honour Pete's input to these.

  22. No, still the same no. I understand there were originally 2, supplied by Forza Italia & Twiggers. I have purchased one of these. Another has recently been imported from Japan, so there’s 3 Coppas in the UK

  23. Same for me in 1997, closed. This time I waited to make a booking online which you need to do now but they only open the bookings a month in advance. When I went to make a booking the time of my visit was booked out! Then I found out about the big Guzzi weekend thats on now and we went down to town and just walked in with everyone else. They were obviously not taking bookings over the special weekend period. Got there anyway at last. It's totally manic in Mandello at the moment with a gazillion people and streets blocked off to cars. It's no place to be seeking out alternative routes to your Hotel through the maze of super narrow back streets half of which are one way. We drove to Bellano for the day today to get away from Mandello and the drive through town was a nightmare. Will walk the 2klm into town from now on even though it's the steepest 2 klm walk you've ever seen. Just not worth the agro in the car.
