I am going to Paris in November, and I have made a direct deal with the owner of the place I am going to rent. AB&B prices have increased fueled by all the new laws enacted by localities in order to protect the Hôtel businesses and the long term rental market. The municipality in Paris has made it very difficult for owners to rent appartments through AB&B. They already had imposed a limitation of the number of days they could rent, and now, to be able to rent short term, you need to possess another appartment of the same surface that you can rent long term. They have also come up with additionnal taxes, mainly to satisfy the Hôtels. Therefore, with less rentals, prices have gone up. Not to forget that this year, the Olympic Games in Paris had inflated the prices to levels never seen before. As I go to Paris once a year, I have been staying in some dumps which really should not even be listed. Still, better than those expensive 2 stars hôtels... But if you are looking for better deals, there are ways to alleviate the pain. For example, if you stay outside of Paris, prices go down very quickly. The subway takes you to the city center in minutes, so it is not compulsory to stay with a view on the Seine. When I was working in Italy, I quickly learned that if you wanted to spend time in Venice, you stayed in Mestre. Take the bus to Venice, you have one every 10 minutes. The money aside, yes indeed, you now have to fight your way for every sight you want to visit. But if you really are daring, and resourceful, not easily frightened, I can recommend a few places where you will not see many tourists; Kazakhstan is one of them. I worked there for a few years, and it is stunning beautiful and tourist untapped.3 points

Near Stuart, due east of the top of the big lake. We had a lot of tornadoes, an unusual amount but none near enough to me to know. Pretty much a nothingburger here, some branches to clean up, and trim some trees that should have been done before now anyway.2 points

Hi - I’m waiting for the Deoxit I ordered to arrive, then I plan to clean all the fuse and relay connections. Hopefully that will get me somewhere. If not, I’ll consider selling all my motorcycles and take up stamp collecting or birding.2 points

You know that Kawasaki made a concept Hydrogen bike? it is not something they are planning to commercialize at present. Mainly because H2 refueling stations are inexistant outside of Japan. Actually, if Tesla had not developped all those supercharging stations, you can bet the adoption would have probably be worse. As expected, this project bike looks like a monstercycle.2 points

Because I saw that someone (a guest) was looking at this thread just now: This gist of it is, a couple of members of this forum put rather a lot of effort into producing an alternative spring that looks like it should last pretty much forever. Jump to the later post to find out whether there are still some available.1 point

I LIKE it! I ordered a couple sets of the relays recommended by Docc. I'll give this a shot tonight.1 point

Without wanting to discount @docc 's reference to relay problems, after reading your update I would - Have a close look at the throttle grip (motor off, good light) and see if anything moves when you wrench open the throttle. - Whether yes or no, open the switch block (and the throttle grip) and have a good look at everything. Your discovery of the apparent connection with the kill switch makes me think that the throttle grip / switch block might be slightly loose, or something along those lines, and the "violent" movement is enough to break the contact, or perhaps cause a short, in the kill switch. Annoying for you, but a very interesting problem.1 point

I have seen more Tyco failures in V11 than any other relay. Worth getting a full set (5) of High Current 5-pin relays and see if "problem solved." https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/picker-components/PC782-1C-12S-R-X/123528661 point

Took a ride down to Jonesborogh and Greenville today, I should have had a GoPro on, the worst hit area I saw was right around where 107 and 81 spit, there used to be a KOA camp ground right on the river. Half the land is gone and the building has a partial collapse. https://koa.com/campgrounds/jonesborough/site-type/rv-camping-sites/ I was on the far side river, Arnold Rd runs right along the river, 15ft off the river and 15ft above the river, there were root balls stuck 20ft up in a tree where it split. There was debris on both sides of the road, trees, building material, lots of coolers... The other side of the river was worse, land is gone, houses partially collapsed, maybe some houses gone. There is a farm on that side, tomatoes, some were gone, some covered in mud, some being picked today. Lots of churches and Fire Departments had donations for people, saw a few military vehicles out to help, lots of police and volunteers. Further down the road, you could not see the Nolichucky river, but there was what looked like a dry river bed about 10 times wider than the river itself. Once away from the Nolichucky, everything looked normal, very few trees down, people might had lost power for a while, also water, but no physical damage. There are more closed roads due to bridge issues, I had to take 107 all the way until it was closed, then take 350 south to get to Greenville. The pictures are from the Bridge near Greenville, TN. Look are the one picture close and you can see the hay bales in the debris, just for reference of how much is there. On the other side of the bridge was 50 trees right next to the river that had blow/washed over with the root balls still holding them in place.1 point

Thanks for the input all. I have a little more data after my ride home tonight. It died again on me and wouldn’t even turn over. I toggled the kill switch on and off and it started right up. I repeated this four more times, spirited acceleration, bike dies, activate and deactivate kill switch, and it started right up. This seems pretty squarely electrical, but I’m not sure where to start now. Any suggestions?1 point
