  2. She actually never went down on the right side. The valve covers were swapped and I never bothered to put them back on the 'correct' side. She's gone down twice on the left. First time, someone changed lanes into me. I tried to 'eject' from the bike but my left foot got caught by the exhaust and the bike ended up dragging me about 100ft before it came to a stop at a curb. Amazingly, I didn't have any injuries at all. That prompted to paint job and other additions like the staintune pipes since the carbon fiber ones I had got damaged. Second time someone cut into my lane turning left. It was wet that day and I happened to be braking over a painted section. It was minor enough that I didn't bother to fix it with all the other projects and priorities I had at the time. I love that bike; it's taken me through death valley, the sierras and all over California. I'm happy it's going to someone who will give it the love it needs. A Ghezzi Brian kit was something I toyed with myself but never got around to

  3. As an apparté to the thread's main topic, I think we should not ignore that many of the non strickly mechanical parts of our aging motorcycles need replacement. When I was still working at Schlumberger, we had already moved from scheduled maintenance to RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance). No longer doing routine changes based on time, but strictly when required. Althought this is applicable to just about everything, vehicles are still mainly using the scheduled maintenance scheme; of course, this is the most profitable one. Although we have seen some evolutions lately. The mileage between maintenance has significantly increased. To some extent, my car tells me when I need an oil change, and this is different with what my garage' sticker says. By a long way...

  5. All y'all should tell everyone you know, and the entire web-world, to vacation in Australia. Where I live, there are volcano-fueled potholes in the road the size of a rented Hyundai. There are alligators in all the hotel swimming pools and vipers in the toilets. You can't walk down the street without an earthquake dragging you into a tornado (which happen every nine seconds). The wildfires seem to consume .com "places of interest" with alarming regularity. Don't get me started on the Murder Hornets (the size of your fist, they carry children off). Not that there are many children here as the locals eat their young. "Dogs and cats, living together. Mass hysteria ." Australia's 1500 spider species and 21 venomous snakes is a tourist paradise!

  9. Click on the "Dogs and cats " link. It is a reference to the first (1984) Ghostbusters movie.

  11. It's been laid down on both the the left and right sides at one time or another. Left side of the fairing is actually ground down a bit. Tank has multiple scratches. Clip-ons definitely stay, been wanting those for ages. It will probably stay as a Lemans for a year or so but this is what I eventually want to build. At least the front fairing.
