  2. LOL. I can see I'm treading for the first time down a well-worn path. The swingarm itself needs a good clean-up. The powder coat is flaking all over the place. I guess I'll get it blasted and recoated. I've a 2000 Cali arriving next week too so there'll no doubt be more to do there. I just want to retire and spend all day on this stuff but my Mrs said something about bills....

  3. Docc, if you don't use them on the Sport I bet a compact car could use them.

  4. Couple photos of the completed LED turn signals, Mistral pipes, Rizoma mirrors, new levers and a good old polishing.

  5. I went a couple of times, but it is not really my kind of event. Seems very popular since they have a lot of people from everywhere attending, including Germany and Switzerland.

  7. Much as I love my silver V11 Sport, the Coppa, Rosso Corsa etc, there’s something sublime about a greenie. I don’t think that color will ever be upstaged

  8. The reg doesn't need that much airflow as the fins and body act as a heatsink as well as cooling fins. Getting it into the airflow at your location also gets it into the road crud and rain water spray. Here's where mine is fitted and the second image is the location of the Reg on my 1198 Ducati. See the battery, below the battery is the EMU and under that is the REG, right behind the back of the oil cooler outlet and under a side fairing. Both seem to work ok. They aren't old Pommie bike charging systems. Phil

  10. Heat and working it back and forth and some penetrating oil/concoction of your choice. Two things. You need to destroy the oring in the sliding section so the penetrating oil can access the splines and the heat needs to be applied to the bevel box end of the shaft as the female end is just a shield over the splined portion.

  11. I never knew Springsteen wrote that. Just went looking and found out. Still, I prefer what Manfred Mann did with it. While we're at it, this is great, always was and always will be... And since Chris Thomspon is such a legend, this too. Johnny Farmhand got famous (again) with it, but Chris wrote it. And since we've mentioned John Farnham, this was his first hit. I don't know if anyone outside of Australia ever heard of it...

  15. Because the owner told me spares are available from Europe, and when I asked him if it was a Piaggio engine, he omited to answer. For all I know, they could have installed a Kubota engine. But the dead give away is that Piaggio does not make a 4T 200cc engine. it is 50, 150, 400; Vespa has 50, 125, 300 Now, the only 200cc engines were 2 strokes in the Vespa PX.

  16. And now for something completely different... We studied this piece at the University. Coltrane is mostly playing arpeggios, which, at 130 bpm, is not really surprising. Interesting is how the pianist launches into his solo, and after a while just gives up and starts playing chords. Shortly afterwards, Coltrane takes over again. EDIT: for anyone who wants to have a go at it... https://musescore.com/user/498481/scores/6680232

  17. That's the point of it all, isn't it? It'd be a bit boring if we all posted the same stuff.

  20. Absolutely gorgeous V11 Sport! Does the regulator hang at a funny angle? Not loose on one side?

  22. Just a reminder if too much grease is left in the shaft cavity, the halves will not go back together or there will be restricted movement interfering with suspension travel. Nice to hear you enjoy "the process." Your spineframe will love you back!

  23. By the way, I received a message of Bruno Saturno as well. They do not have the Monza body parts anymore, but they have a new set now. https://www.ghezzi-brian.com/en/modelli/v-twin-supersport-2/ Although it looks very exclusive, the price might need back-up from Mrs. No overhere, so I give it another thought.

  24. I don't know which part of Japan you are living, you should maybe put the name of the city in your profile card, but I don't know if you ever saw 46works YouTube videos, this guy is some kind of wizard for preparing Guzzis and BMWs. I don't think he would be interested in working on your bike, he is more like a custom prep, but giving him a call may be worth your while. https://46works.net/

  25. I thought about this on my 90 mile circuit through the countryside this afternoon. There was a handful of Halloween decorations, but probably a couple dozen autumn/harvest displays like this sort: There is still some "Trick-or-Treat" in some of the cities and towns, but not out here in the rural countryside. Instead, many of the churches host a "Trunk-or-Treat" in their parking lots where the kids can go from car to car in their costumes and the interactions are among people who know one another. Here, in the deep U.S. southland, Christmas lights and wreaths or garland are still very much part of the landscape starting about Thanksgiving weekend.

  26. I think Hallmark is pretty dead too.... Having spent countless hours perfecting my handwriting at school, using nibs in holders, having ink included in desks, nobody uses pens any longer. The cards that I receive have printed words, and if I am lucky, there is a hand drawn signature on it. Even documents are no longer requiring hand signature. You can sign electronically, and it is just as good. I am fighting that lost battle anyway. I have gone back to paying by check as I can't stand having to enter codes to confirm its me before I can log in. I have to pay an extra six dollars to receive my insurance card on paper since I refuse to download the insurance's application on my phone. I don't want to be bound by my phone for just everything, because I often go out without it. My last flight to Phoenix Az to go to Sedona, I had to pay extra to print my boarding pass. I paid for the flight, but that does not include a boarding pass? next it will be the luggage tags that you will need to pay for? What a formidable world we live in!!! thank god I can get out of all that on my Guzzi...

  27. I tend to agree. It's all about marketing and money. My wife is Swedish and we have many Swedish cousins. We have celebrated "Midsommar" over the years when the kids were younger. I did Christmas lights for a few years but stopped. Guess I'm a Scrooge. We have often wondered the same thing @Scud, where do people store all that crap. In the developments down the hill from me most people cant use their garages for cars because it is full of stuff...and not motorcycle stuff! And I can't tell you how many storage places are nearby. Another big marketing money grab you left out...Valentines Day. How could Hallmark survive without it?
