Some colours respond well to photographing in certain lights and a fill in flash can make the paint "pop" as well. Silver V11 Sports always look great to me in images but not as impressive in the flesh. Not bad or anything but never as good. Thats why I don't choose car or bike colours from the computer, I always want to see it in the flesh. The only colour Supra I could see in the flesh was a red one so thats what I bought. I mean you can't really go wrong with red but I'm not choosing a car colour off a brochure or computer image. So now we have 3 red cars! When the wife says "do you want to take the Red car for a spin" I still know what car she's referring to though.3 points

IDK what makes a beautiful bike sit on a showroom floor. The W650 , GB500 and other are beautiful , functional , fun to ride , simple and easy (none) to maintain and were wallflowers . The V11 fit a lot of these categories too. I cannot remember not knowing what these bikes look like and I cannot think of ever getting rid of them .3 points

I read somewhere that a mix of 1/2 acetone + 1/2 automatic transmission fluid is a potent penetrating oil. Drizzle, heat, wait, repeat (maybe add a little vibration/percussion) while leaving the contraption in that tension state . . . perhaps, alternate with striking it into compression . . . Once apart, there is an O-ring in there that will need renewing.3 points

I started a thread on that topic a while back. I found the resulting discussion quite interesting.2 points

i strapped one half to the wall and the other to my van tow hitch and rolled the van backwards… that worked. Although mine was already bent due to a rod end snapping on the torque arm and jacking the whole shebang, so it was a last ditch effort haha2 points

Heat and working it back and forth and some penetrating oil/concoction of your choice. Two things. You need to destroy the oring in the sliding section so the penetrating oil can access the splines and the heat needs to be applied to the bevel box end of the shaft as the female end is just a shield over the splined portion.2 points

That's quite the assemblage of stuff in the shop to create pull. Where there's a will there's a way. I like it. In hindsight, I wonder if putting the drive shaft assembly on a press would have worked. When the unit is on the bike I don't think it is bottomed out. It can move either way and the goal was just to break it free. It is just a thought. Unfortunately, I just thought about it today after following this post. We were all zeroed in on pulling, when pushing might have been been an easier option.1 point

Same with mine. There's a vent of some description so no pressure is possible. Thanks for your help with this guys.1 point

Uhhhh , have you greased the grease fitting at the slip yoke to push it apart ?1 point

Thanks to you too Phil. I'm heating with a paint stripping gun. Might have to get a butane torch.1 point

And now for something completely different (again ) I became aware of this bloke through a TV documentary. I had never heard of him, and was amazed. Amongst other things, hearing what he did explains why anyone could possibly think hip-hop is ok. They are all trying to do what he did, but can't. Anyway... Gil Scott Heron. Enjoy...1 point

It is probably a long shot. But in August 2023, I experienced the same symptoms of sputtering, did not want to keep idle; Look at the picture below, and you can understand what happened. The rubber connecting the admission pipe to the throat was no longer properly sealing. You can see the small gap which messed up the fueling. Check that all your fueling components are sealing properly. No stray air entry anywhere.1 point
