  1. I understand it is a limited edition model being released specifically to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Stelvio Pass. https://www.cycleworld.com/bikes/moto-guzzi-stelvio-duecento-tributo-first-look/ Rob

  2. "De gustibus et coloribus etc", but I found this 2025 color combination for the V100S (and, most importantly, non-black-colored wheels!) most impressive

  3. Yes, the blue is great. With some of my stash of various Carabinieri decals on it, it would look even better ... 112! Oh, and @audiomick, there is something fetching about "slightly bored looking" girls ... or, at least for me, that one. Bill

  4. I still don't know what to make of this new V100.... But the blue does look good on it though. Cheers

  5. I had an extra set of chops powder coated a couple years ago. I had wanted to get them anodized to restore the faded anodized chops on the Tenni, which have turned to a sort of burnt orange. I don't actually mind the color -- actually kind of like it -- but had wanted to replicate the original finish. The powdercoater tried a lot of things, but never quite was able to replicate that soft anodized finish look. In the end, they did a couple layers, with clear on top to give some depth. It's hard to get a photo that catches the light, but they have a darker cherry color. Kinda looks like red jello. You can see through the clear and make out either sand-casted or sand-blasted surface texture. @Drahchir I think you'll have an awfully hard time getting powdercoat to replicate an anodized finish. If I had an extra pair of chops lying around, I'd take my chances, IFF I could find somebody willing to give it shot. Worst case scenario, you then get it powdercoated. If you find an anodizer to try, I wouldn't sandbast to prep the pieces. Let us know your results.

  7. Oh I'm in trouble now...look at the blue V100! Just lovely! Have to say that the V85 gets better looking each year...nicely kitted out for adventures and still very stylish.

  8. All that corrosion around the slave could simply be from the bleeder. Or from some prior attempt to bleed it. Might consider cleaning it up and using Teflon tape on the bleeder. After decades (literally now) of discussion over the front U-joint, best access looks to be from the front, coming across the U-joint guard through the shaft tunnel in the swingarm, and downward onto the Zerk (Zerk pointing upward, with the swingarm lowered) using an adjustable angle tip at 90ยบ-ish . . . Otherwise, "You know. Snake Farm " . . .

  9. Stucchi copy it looks like. Doesn't have the crossover suport. But with the light mufflers, not a problem. Mistral crossover is well made, even lacking 0.4hp compare to Stucchi. Cheers Tom.

  10. News posted in the German forum: the new V7 model still has 67 ps. There was initially some speculation that it might go up to 80, i.e. the V85 TT motor, but that is apparently not the case. It apparently does have a couple of Nm more torque, though. The pictures shows a green one with twin disks at the front and USD forks (good move, I reckon), which is apparently the "sport" version. Don't know what the other versions are. Edit: I see the white one with the slightly bored looking girl sitting on it has a single disk at the front. Can't say anything about the Stelvio, as I am ignoring it on account of an inground aversion to chook-chasers.

  11. Did a little research on Boz Scaggs and he was talking about Steve Miller being an influence for (hmm.. Steve Miller that's someone I haven't thought about in awhile).

  12. Sadly, I came upon the truth that all night trains that used to be running every day between Paris and Milan have never resumed service after they were stopped by the pandemic. Same situation between Paris and Rome. Those trains were cheap, because slow. But it means you would travel on hidden time. Travel during the night, arrive in Milan in the morning, spend the day at EICMA, come back during the night. But it is now impossible. They only have fast trains running throughout the day, but not fast enough to give me enough time in EICMA and come back the same day. So, no... but it is not a big deal, because there are plenty of youtubers who are going to be there, and I am plenty certain Moto Guzzi has no real new model for us this year.

  13. The original ignition advance mapping is far from "smooth" at those rpm with low throttle openings. Anatomy of a "hiccup" . . .
