Cheers Doc. All done and dusted for another year down here ( Boxing day ) .... You know about 3 years ago when I took the bike to Chrissy at my nieces place, I put young Austin ( about 4 years old ) on the tank and took him for a ride round the block. Sounds dodgy but he was quite safe. When I got there yesterday he was busy setting up his new play station but he made a beeline for me to tell me all about it and says remember when you took me for a ride on your motor bike? Where is it ? I had to tell him it was resting at home for next time! Priceless and still got a wee lump in the throat typing this.... Cheers to each and all.4 points

With KTM apparently selling their majority stake in MV Augusta there are some deep discounts (40-50%) on some beautiful machines. Don’t know where MV will end up but hopefully it’s a soft landing4 points

I've always had a soft spot for the Triumph Stag.... Beautiful car. I think a lot of the issues were due to it being a hastily cobbled together motor from 2 x Dolomite 4 cylinder engines to make a V8. But once sorted quite reliable and they also sound bloody great! Also fond of old Jags and as for the Chev small block conversion, there used to be a business here in Melb that specialised in this for them. Matter of fact a mate of a mate had an XJ 6 with this and made for a much more reliable car with all the beauty of an old Jag.2 points

That is very good. I watched some experts setting up bikes with Guzzi Diag at the forum rally last year. The bloke on the computer is Beard (Bernd) who programmed Guzzi Diag (the computer is inside the cardboard box that he is looking into). Karsten, orange t-shirt and overalls, was doing the adjustments. Going by what he was satisfied with for the TPS on various bikes, within 2 mV of the target is excellent.2 points

I got the TPS as close to 157 mv as I could, after much fiddling finally tightened up at 155 and I called it "good". The CO trim was already set at zero so that's where I left it.2 points

I have not tried this variety, but if one can believe the blurb it is the right thing for pots and faders and such. In fact, when I get around to it, I intend to get a can of it for the workshop in the opera where I work (paid for by the house, of course...) https://caig.com/fader-f-series/2 points

That's profit, mate. After they finished paying everyone, and paying off the sexual harrrassment fees. Profit.2 points

Did the "Decent Tune-Up" this weekend. -- Found the TPS voltage was way low, the CO trim was already at zero, and the vacuum caps on the intakes looked good but were nearly disintegrated ! Throttle bodies only needed a little adjustment to balance nicely at 2500 RPM. My 2003 LeMans is running smoothly -- Thanks to the Forum for the excellent instructions2 points

A little off track I know but interesting and one for Audiomick, right up his alley. Check out the other engine configurations as well.1 point

Yes, well I got that. That's like I wrote, "low margin" considering expenses. That's $20m after selling 12b cans of fizz and funding an F1 that's over $100m. You think that's a good deal for shareholders or maybe cutting it a little close? What would a 1% sales drop do to their margin? You think they paid dividends ?1 point

That would be only slightly off topic in the "Tube Amps" thread. Easy enough to move the post there . . .1 point

This thread reminds me of a job i did maybe fifteen years ago. Now, i love a Good coffee, have one every morning using a wee Dualit machine with Lavazza espresso beans. Yum. I was on a job plastering this chaps chimney breast and I’m working away, spread spread spread, he’s got a few chums round having a natter, then this smell of coffee wafts through to the room i’m workin in… dear gawd it smells divine, like really really good coffee. So i’m working away there, spread spread spread, and after a while he pops his head in and gives it: “That’s looking really good there Stewart, would you like a brew at all?” “That’d be super, thank you, I’d love a coffee cheers” I says, smackin me lips in anticipation (I can still smell the Good Stuff on the ether). 5 mins later he comes in and hands me a mug of nescafe. @Lucky Phil I really hope the machine delivers all it promises. I've gone down a different path. Coffee is a luxury that gets shipped halfway around the world before I get to see it. I want it to be a ritual. This is what I have at home. I know how many times I have to turn the handle on the grinder for each Bialetti pot, so the beans are ground fresh every time. A Bialetti pot for every occasion, a metal pot to warm the milk for my flat white. Amazing how in-depth one can get with even the simplest of equipment.1 point
