Hmmm, so I didn't consider changing the rotor. I did clean it a bit, before reassembling the new stator, looked good. I did fully change the battery (lithium), and it's been sitting on the bench for three days, let me go measure now… 13.43.3 points

Realy like the old Le Mans to. Don't know about the front forks. Storing wasn't perfect, rust, and inside tank. Ask the misses, one seat w never be missed. A ride with a 79 Le Mans to the UK. A few rides in the summer is great, and I coudn't sell it. A V11 is like a holiday compared. You did ask for it, right. Decisions like that shoud be avoided at all cost. But your decisions, so good luck. Cheers Tom.2 points

I'm not quite sure I understand, you state poor charge then say a 30A breaker is tripping often? I'm unaware of this mod but guessing it's replacing fuse 3 on the output from the charge circuit to the battery. If it's tripping at 30A then sounds to me like the Alternator is doing its job, but system voltage isn't rising above 13.0 V. Could be a short, but I'd have thought you'd find that quickly either through blown fuses or smoke. Obvious start fully charge the battery with an exeternal charger then let it rest for a few hours and check the float voltage. Battery acts like an accumulator (or resevoir), if its voltage is low it can drag down system voltage and although a long shot it wouldn't be the first new battery that's been found defective Next thing after that would be to check battery voltage not being dragged down by parasitic load or small leakage. So the battery is low when you set out and will take time to rise in voltage. I'd also shoot a mail to Electrosport and ask them what the RR output voltage is set to as well, 13.0 volts sounds a tad low to me too, I'd think 13.5-14.0 volts is where it should be. It isn't catastrophic IMHO but is a bit low. EDIT Just to add I'm ASS-uming the rectifier ground/earth/chassis is good and of course battery ground, poor grounding usually results in higher system volts AFAIK, but it may be worth checking. Brighter minds will chip in soon (I hope)2 points

Set the record straight. Stator=the portion of the alternator charging system that remains stationary. Rotor= the portion of the alternator charging system that rotates/spins .2 points

Don't! (Do it!). Don't. Do it. Seems a little conflicted. . . Don't do it!1 point

I can see why someone would change only the stator instead of the whole alternator due to cost issues...but it doesn't make sense to me that the conclusion is that the alternator is working properly...otherwise, the battery would not be draining. If while the bike is running (not just at idle), but also at revs, and you're only seeing 13 V and not 13.5 to 14.2V, somehow the charging system is not working. Unless you have some serious chafing somewhere, that points back in my experience to a failing alternator, so even with a good stator, the charge is not developing. I'm probably wrong...but if you can't find any smoking/burnt wires or loose connections, I'd try a new alternator.1 point

Oberdan Bezzi is doing these studies for a long time. Not sure if yhis one is his too: https://oberdanbezzi.artstation.com/albums/11177621 point

So your problem went with the wire, right? Are those by any chance the green wires? Just for fun, turn of the ignition and see if maybe there is 12V on the end of the wire from pin 86 that is causing the problem.1 point

I have never removed the swingarm bearings but I know they are extremely "in there". A+ on the clean & repack IF they are not rusty. Lots of brake-kleen and compressed air to clean them up. When/if you go this route , pack them full of wheel bearing grease and put the dust shield back on. If you know someone w/a threaded puller to pull the bearings out this might be a good idea . I know a real good heat gun is needed to get them out / in if you go this route. If you accomplish this , pack the new roller bearings w/grease . New bearings have just enuf grease in them to not rust.1 point

@gstallons @Scud @docc @audiomick i have the swing arm removed. I'll inspect hte lower shock mount and report back. Will start cleaning away the greasy, salty grime. The swing arm double row bearings are almost dry, no water damage, don't turn easy but are smooth. My bearing puller slide hammer isn't heavy enough to pull the bearings. Wonder if heat gun might help... Removed the outer cage, will thoroughly wash them out, see how they turn and if free and if smooth, thinking i will repack with new grease. I'll stay with the factory shock, i'm tired of dumping money into more bikes than i care to remember over the past six decades, so a full thorough inspection and service is all this poor old crusty hag gets from me. I've saved her from an untimely death, so she'll love me well for what i do give her. Thanks for the comprehensive lists of things to inspect and service, and the tip on the clutch bleeder. I'll post before and after pics of the cleaning. My spirits dampened having to dive deep into this bike, i never thought it, but i've gone to the dark side and become a car guy for the first time in my 73 years. Last September, bought a '94 Corvette in exquisitely clean condition which has thoroughly excited my passions...1 point

As my buddy, Jim Anchower, says, I know it's been a long time since I rapped at ya. Work got me down, house turns a hundred this year, so no end to house projects, yadda, yadda. However, I did take advantage of the Harbor Freight 20% coupon and got myself a motorcycle lift. I was so excited to do some work on Bubbles and the Tenni. What a difference it makes. No more dreading the cold concrete floor. Some months ago, before things got busy, I had purchased four sets of front brake pads for the two V11. Took off a front caliper and opened a package of pads before I realized that somehow I ended up with the wrong damn pads. As it's been months since I purchased them, the vendor won't take them back. Now I have four pairs of EBC FA308HH pads -- suitable for most 600-1200 Yamahas, I gather. PM me if you have a Yam or two that need new front pads. Cheers, Frey1 point

As of this moment all parts have been sold.............. thx to this forum and all those involved in the purchase of all this stuff. It would be good if moderators could mark this thread as sold or remove please. Ciao1 point

Rare (very rare) coincidence of time and weather today for a ride (mid-winter). Every time I ride to "Belfast" I think of @belfastguzzi.1 point

Bought a new 620SC years back, what a fun cute little thing. Had fun with it a couple of years, then sold it to my brother in law. He called me one day, it stopped and won’t start. Put the Delorto back on I said. They like to have the revs up there. Funny bike for sure. Cheers Tom.1 point

Admin: starting a new thread, merge if needed. I was stranded on the freeway this past weekend, dead battery. The system is doing the same as it has been for some time, in spite of all new items. It began over a year ago by melting the 30a fuse holder. I replaced it with a circuit breaker per forum suggestions, and it breaks often. Regardless of rpm, just over 13v is all that happens. I guess there is a harness drain/short/problem. Although I have inspected it numerous times, I will begin again. Thoughts, suggestions?0 points
