I have been sorting metric/standard bolts/nuts/washers for about 6 weeks (to keep my sanity also) now and I am still sorting things out. I have tried keeping all the MG stuff together just wanting to keep them together. Those bolt thread sort tools have been a savior !3 points

I am currently in the process of sorting out all the fasteners I've kept over the past 45 years, and those my Father and Grandfather kept as well. I expect the scrap weight of those discarded will buy coffee and donuts for at least a week.3 points

I remember in 69 and 70 While still in high school I worked at a Standard Oil service station I thought I was the cats meow with my own uniform and Embroidered name on the shirt. We would always hurry out and pump the gas clean the windshield Check the oil Yes those were the days of yore.3 points

There is scanning apparatus and there is scanning apparatus $$$. Cheers Tom.2 points

So many Norwegians! Love it. I’ve had mixed luck with the modern computer match options, but if you’ll paint the whole part then that’s easy, as the computer is definitely close enough for that. It’s just for juxtaposing stock with painted panels, or (god forbid) blending, where it’s risky.2 points

The things you learn along the way. Herb Alpert is the 'A' in A&M Records.2 points

slightly odd that the picture of the bike in the ebay post doesn’t appear to be showing the kit installed, just a stock setup. ok, not a great way to show what the kit does. I think Activepop installed a set, though i haven’t heard what he thought of them. I’m quite fond of mine, part of a couple minor tweaks that makes Red noticeably more comfortable than goldie, even though same year & model.2 points

Ah, the "service station" of yore. As opposed to today's "convenience store" where you can conveniently buy fuel et cetera.2 points

Incidently that points to why I prefer GIMP. It is not from Microsoft, and accordingly works properly and delivers what it promises.2 points

TLDR lol I always use the phone upright, and my Win7 edit program displays them in whatever orientation it feels like. Then I have to rotate to upright, save, and re-open to verify that it's what I want to post. Sometimes it's not important, as with these. I decided early on to be a lazy computer user rather than an adept or a programmer. I still lament WIN XP.2 points

As far as I understand it, things like mobile phones register metadata about how the phone was being held when the photo was taken, and rotate the photo on the basis of that so that it looks the right way up when you look at it on the same device. Some photo viewers on computers can read that metadata, and show the photo "the right way up". Some programs can't, and therefore show the photo upside down, or sideways, as it was actually taken.. The forum software can't read the metadata, probably. The solution is to open the photos in a program like GIMP, which shows you the photo without correction, and has a function to rotate it to the right way up. And is free, and can scale the file size of the picture, and lots and lots of other stuff, most of which I don't know how to do. https://www.gimp.org/ Edit: @Pressureangle do you like this picture better? Rotating it took about three minutes, because GIMP takes a while to start on this fairly old laptop.2 points

Original post from 2014. That member has not visited since 2016, so I reckon we'll never know . . .2 points

Texas Sidecar Company Open House on March 29th, 2025; Watch the video showing what they do. They also export if you were ever interested in getting a sidecar for your Guzzi. They ship out everywhere.1 point

I have not installed them yet. Still in unopened package. Still unsure if I will use them. Got them for a lot less than that Ebay offering.1 point

Oye, they've had U.S. Passports for 40 years. Edit; in fact Herb Alpert was born in Los Angeles. lol1 point

Funny, the common instrument makes it so easy to hear. I played them at the same time, and while not on track it makes the common elements more obvious.1 point

Weather forecast predicts rain for Friday on COTA. However Saturday and Sunday should be dry. Nothing will come in between MM93 and the opportunity to get to his fifth and sixth wins of the season. The greatest uncertainty will be about the second and third; whom will it be?1 point

Coming back to this topic, I remember that in the 70's, when I started riding (in France), you did not really need to worry about carrying tools with you, for each and every gas station carried just about anything you needed; spark plugs, tools, consumables, tubes. They actually would fix your flats on the spot. Free air of course, and they would also change your oil if you needed it. Batteries and what not. Today's gas station here are more grocery stores with gas pumps. You can still find oil. But the original purpose of taking care of your vehicle is different.1 point

The snow has cleared and a recent rain has removed the tons of salt left on the road. The V11 was rolled out of its warm bed to make this video commemorating the start of a new season. Remember to like and subscribe. Bwahaa! 2004 V11S1 point

And, this, a fork mounted "flyscreen" rather than the frame mounted "fairing" of the LeMans variants, or even the other frame mounted screens of the Ballabio/Café Sport/ Coppa Italia or 2005 Scura R. This is a true "Sport" . . . and a fine one, indeed! A Sport-is-a-Sport-is-a-Sport . . .1 point

I guess I should do this while it's still March. (The Promise of Spring) Another blast from the past1 point

. Just made reservations for Friday and Saturday nights in our "usual" room, 301. Have a moto-spot reserved, too, but may be caging it with Kathi. I have hernia surgery -- my sixth! -- on 7 August. Yes, I am obviously defective. My first such surgery was after my first unplanned dismount ... an honorable "I laid 'er down" -- from a tricycle in San Antonio in 1949! All since have been from lifting things I should have known better to call for help, but, well, didn't. So, as for riding a day or two short of a month after procedure, not sure surgeon will "let" me (or that I'll care about that ), but it may be an issue of reality then, something I do care about. Even if I do ride, Kathi will cage it. I'll store the (selected!) Guzzi in Hiawassee and we'll head out on lengthy "Visit Old Friends in the South" tour. On the way back, I'll retrieve the Guzzi and we'll see how tall the grass is back here by our return. Be all of that as it may, we look forward to our reunion at SSR XXI. Bill1 point

A little minor maintenance…decided to install new ignition coils…had them in the box for a year now…and since the tank was off…might as well. No difference vs the originals so that’s actually good! Ran a wire for my TomTom under the airbox to the battery since I had the tank off, I had an extra mount so now fully wired. Resealed the fuel sender unit at the tank with some Hylomar blue…no more leaks ( last leak was two years ago)…had some very minor drips over the last couple of weeks. Did a valve adjustment…a lot quieter…would like it quieter still but will run as is for now. Bike running beautifully…out for a ride with friend today…lent him my Griso.1 point
