I have petcock fuse but manual petcock on Tenni.
-
I am struggling to see the angles in my minds eye but I think you're onto something with symmetry.

What's the deal with lifting the whole weight on the sump? Crushed sump?
-
Needs a backstop to the cam action or it would topple. Bedtime.
-
Thanks. I dig the cam action in place of wheels. Not sure on the weight capacity and stability. I am inclined to make it stiff and one piece to cradle the underside of the frame between the porkchops and nix the threaded rod.

adjacent lh throttle body, similar is the word, the knurled knob on the bottom doesn't want to turn with fingers grasping. The low warning part had me going for a bit. Now for the weird. I have full set of fuses.

I have a pair of mystery aftermarket looking bullet push connectors similar to Docc's pic which disappear into factory looking harness below Magnetti Marelli ECU bundled with the ECU spaghetti and OBD outlet. Wtf? At idle there is 1.5V between them rising to 1.6v with a throttle blip. Isn't that 10x 150mV ? Yes I am on single figure whole V range.

It's advertised for guzzidiag. Expect success, you're dealing with Englishmen.

One on each universal cross and one on the spline union. The front universal is hard to find. See the thread from Dangerous, ''that bloody expletive expletive front universal'' roughly remembered.

$33.35 Shipped. that's really good buying. Costs more than that from ECS just for the one obd2 cable.

So I have to run a wire from petcock fuse to headstock and mount a bulb holder there. What danger if the wire shorts out? Either no fuse or it blows out the petcock fuse ( if you have electric petcock ) neither is very good. Do good work!
-
ahha! said Zooter. It's starting to make sense now.
-
And thanks for the headsup! I might have been pulling hair trying to find a non existing fuse.
-
So what's the equivalent test when there is no electric petcock?

Hg is foolish if you ask me. My high school chemistry teachers were extremely concerned with keeping it in the bottle. If it gets on the floor it's impossible to get rid of it and you have vapour coming off forever more. If you accidentally suck in a bit of 2T oil I don't believe it will wreck anything. Would be interested to know what exactly occurs when that happens. Sucking Hg would be an environmental disaster at least.

Z, Did you check with the link I posted above ? (http://www.everythingbenz.com/z/part/0009918922-mercedes-socket-end-for-throttle-linkage) I haven't done business with them, but their website looks like they know these parts . . . although I cannot seem to see where they are located. the link appears to be a benz specific web trawler, nifty! Guzzi could do with same. I clicked on autohausAZ from there. They are in Phoenix. The problem I get sometimes is the NZ billing removes the US shipping option on some sites. You nevet know until you go through all the customer signup process.

I think I get it. Say it conks out in the electrical way. Can I find the petcock fuse and measure voltage to ground? I'm hardly going to install a bulb on the dash just in case! Electrical diagrams make my brain short circuit. I should look into what goes wrong in the ignition switch. Mine feels kind of sloppy for a barely run in bike. This petcock power test intuitively tells me there is less definitive info in the dash lights going out. What a mess. It's hard to visualise problems before they happen.
-
if you or someone else can explain how the petcock power supply is so mission critical I can possibly take the advice into my own roadside knowledge base.
-
Jeez you guys can bang on. I need to fab up a stand system from plywood, threaded rod, two car scissor jacks and lumber, maybe some thin flat mild steel reinforcement. Any bright ideas? I don't care if it takes half an hour to lift.

Cheers to you, Bruce. Gotta love the internet. No way I could keep a V11 without it. Still the Mercedes part of it gives me shudders. Merc in NZ is $$ not $. Is there a US merchant that will dropship to US address on my NZ credit card or paypal?

The magnificent gent known as Scud is helping me out ordering a few parts to go with the hugger I'm getting off him. Since he needs a righteous ftdi blahblah obd2 cable also, we got a twoferone shipping there from Docc's recommended source https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/Ftdi_Cable/ES6928/ Got the the TPS breakout from Caspers linked here http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18052 I just need the 3pin to odb2 converter which are available everywhere including NZ. Can anyone confirm that cable is so simple they couldn't f it up if they wanted to, more or less? The missing link is a few ft of, diameter I need to look up, clear hose, and a 1/4 cup of 2T oil, for a manometer to balance throttle bodies, and instructions. Then I need the software. Now how about one of the resident gurus puts it all together in one place?

This is my first bike equipped with steering damper. I have paid it scant attention. Reading this thread I wonder if it's part of how generally uncomfortable I am round town, not just my long time off bikes. How fast do you need to go to get speed wobbles without one? I am more into fast overtaking in straight lines than setting land speed records or trying to grind pegs. I don't get chicken strips so much as chicken steaks. The back tyre gets to looking like it starred in a burnout competition. 100mph is instant loss of licence here and there's a revenue collection agent in the hollow of every straight. It isn't unusual to come across substandard road conditions mid corner here. Is that where a functional damper will help maintaining course?

That certainly confirms that the TPS cannot be set at baseline through the ECU, but requires voltage measurement at the TPS itself. Thanks, again, Camn! Camn's observation is confirmed. While the voltages at idle are very similar (+/- 0.001 mV), at the 150mV baseline at the TPS through the Casper breakout harness and a DVOM, guzzidiag reads the throttle voltage 0.000. I'm thinking a new "tune-up" thread is forthcoming based upon these new tools and developments. did that happen? I am getting set to order the ''tools''.

What's a R/R ?
