I also almost bought this bike. I was actually looking into shipping options and slowly talked myself out of it as I have two V11's at the moment. Glad to see you get the bike...enjoy!

279 miles!? Looks like it is a 2002 sold as a 2003. Comes complete with fuzzy engine paint. What would you even begin to think of on pricing...$6000.00 tops? Just because it is a "new" V11. Granted I paid $5.5K this summer for a 2003 V11 LeMans with 3,000 miles but it also came with a new in the box (unmounted) Ti Kit and some carbon fiber bits. Plus it was a true 2003 with new style satin paint but then I do have the infamous ITI speedo that will fail sometime. I'm just amazed that there are examples of V11's out there with so little miles on them.

In contact with seller...looking at shipping options. Maybe?

It will fit in my garage! Man..if only it was closer.

My thoughts as well. I wish it was closer to me so I could look at it...most likely would follow me home. I want a Ballabio/Café Sport.

My 2002 V11 LeMans that I bought used has a Yuasa YTX-15L...I just checked and its been in the bike at least 3-4 years. No apparent leakage. The Yuasa is an AGM so it should not leak. My 2003 V11 LeMans has a SigmasTek AGM battery (STX15L-BS) although the fitment chart shows I should have a STX30L-BS. Funny that the STX30L-BS is slightly smaller and has 30AH while the STX15L-BS is bigger and has only 15 AH. I do have a bit of seat pan rubbing on both the Yuasa and the SigmasTek battery's and it looks like the higher rated SigmasTek is a better fit and may eliminate the seat pan rubbing.

I have a NIB Ti Kit that came with my '03 LeMans I bought earlier this year. The ECU is installed on the bike but all of the hardware and mufflers have never been installed. I was missing one of the short passenger peg/muffler hangers and sourced a replacement through Chuck in Indiana. That said I'm sure there are precious few of these Ti Kits lying around that are new. Darn it...I was going to go after that Café Sport! Anyway good luck with the bike. Looks like a new '04!

I'm using M1 20W-50 V-Twin oil in my '03 V11. No issues...

BMWDavid-An '02 AND an '03? I get it. FWIW, I'm working out-of-state and staying in Washington, IN (I see that you're in SW IN), on a weekend layover I was surprised to see a MG dealership in Robinson, IL. Spent some time there during a weekend I was stuck away from home...they're good people there. Yeah...two of these bikes! My first V11 was the '02 that I got early this summer. Wanting a like new bike after that...got lucky finding my '03. I live about 12 miles from Washington IN. The folks at Robinson are good people!

Enjoy the LeMans, I know the feeling. Just like my '03 that I scored early this summer. I missed out buying one of these when they where new. Got lucky when I found my '03 in Atlanta. Had 3179 miles on it, one owner and came with a complete in the box Ti kit and some extra CF pieces. Again happy for you and hope you have many miles of fun riding.

Is the down shifting normal? I've found on my '02 and '03 LeMans V11 that each downshift needs a blip on the throttle plus a release on the clutch to keep the gearbox turning. Part of the character of these bikes. You will grow to really love these bikes. Welcome...

I'm a Life Member and have been a member since 1977. Never had to use their services but the magazine is a good read and they lobby hard for motorcyclists rights. I think all motorcyclist should be a member. We as a group regardless of what we ride need to stick together.

I have an almost intact MG Ti Race Kit. I'm missing the right side hanger...the larger one that holds the passenger foot peg and muffler mount. I have the smaller sub-hanger. Anyway looking to buy a hanger as I can't mount the pipes w/o it. Thanks!
-
docc, Yep, got some anti-seize on them. I was aware that stainless reacts with steel and sets up corrosion. The only thing I saw broken was the tab on the right lower front (passenger/muffler bolt) bag mount. A clean fracture right where the flat part joins the tubing. It looks like the weld itself separated. I'll be an easy clean weld job for a shop.

I just got my replacement screws (Fastenal) that I needed to change out the longer ones used on the Tekno mounts. They are the same appearance and physical dimensions. Other than the slightly different color because they are Stainless Steel they are a perfect match.

Bought a 2003 LeMans that had the Techno Bags and mounts. Removed everything...need two of the upper hanger bolts that hold the footpeg/muffler hanger to frame. The bolts on the bike are longer to accommodate the spacer and bag mount. Original hardware did not come with bike. I know I can go to the hardware store...just want to keep bike original. These bolts are NLA from MG. They are hex socket and zinc(dull gray color) plated. Thanks, David Done...Found correct hardware.
-
Yep...that's what I plan on doing Monday. We have a local Fastenal store so hoping they can match all the bolts/nuts.
-
After looking at things some more it appears that the bolt/washer/nuts that go through the muffler stay and the hanger are from the Tekno mounting kit. My '02 V11 has a through bolt from the inside going outwards and capped by an acorn nut. Is this the same for a '03 V11?
-
Yes...its way to long now. I tried to source it at Harpers but it shows no longer available. I'll try some Guzzi dealers to see if they have them in stock. Also the two rear screws that go through the fender are to long as well...I'll see if I can find them as well. FootGoose-thanks for reply.

I recently purchased a 2003 V11 LeMans. It came with the Tekno bags and mounts. There is a broken weld on one of the mounts that I need to fix. Meanwhile I want to take the mounts off and ride the bike w/o the mounts and bags. It appears that I can reuse the hardware at the rear fender and passenger foot pegs. Can I use the existing hex head bolt at the upper hanger location after removing the spacer? Any advise on these bags/mount will be much appreciated. I know...I need to post pictures of my new ride. Thanks!

I need one of the rubber plugs that go into the screw hole I(mirror?) on the brake and clutch lever perches. Just need one. Have one...I'll give a couple bucks for it. Thanks...

I think an old rule of thumb was 10 psi per 1,000 rpm. So at 4,000 rpm you should see at least 40 psi. This engine being a plain bearing engine certainly relies on oil pressure as well as sufficient flow.

Scud-I like what you've said. It will be interesting to get some input from members that can lay eyes on the bike.
