THANKS fOOTGOOSE. (woops tablock!) Good to know the tabs are on all the v11s. I will definitely do a build thread, photo diary, video diary, but I have to buy the bike first. Might give it a go with the Breva 750 and/or the Griso 1200 that I have now first....

Isn't it exquisite! Anyways...... I was looking for answers that were not fully answered in the previous posts. My questions are: 1. If I bought a V11 Le Mans, would the existing headlight fairing mounts be usable with the Laverda fairing? 2. If so, what modifications would be required to make it work? (This is assuming anyone has done the fairing swap with a V11 LM. The bike in the pics is a Le Mans....) 3. If anyone has fitted this fairing on any other V11 using any other fairing/headlight mount, and if so what did they use? 4. Do all V11s have the mounting tabs (bolt tubes,) for a fairing on the headstock or only those that had an OEM fairing fitted? 5. If you have done it, step by step Photos would be great to help the rest of us who want to do the same. I promise, if I do it to my bike I will post videos and a step by step photo guide telling how it was done and any issues I had and how they were overcome. HELP!

I know this is an old post. Ressurrecting it, because now I am looking at doing a Laverda fairing on a V11 and some questions are unanswered and some photos are no longer visible..... Here is the bike that started the whole discussion....

This may be going too far, colour wise, but you got to admit it is striking. Check it out. The guy did a series of videos showing the transformation, then promptly sold the bike when it was done. Maybe he created a monster. Check out how high the seat is and how low the clip ons!

Thanks for the advice guys. The pics I posted feature a Laverda SFC 750 fairing which I'd love to put on. Make the bike look longer and leaner. The fairing is Available for about 100 Euros from https://www.motoforzafairings.com/half-fairing-road-laverda-moto-guzzi-etc-laverda-sfc-750-1974 I have seen a Greenie in the flesh. 😍 I also like silver and could be happy with that. Still 😍 The only mods I'd do would be the fairing and maybe relocate the signals and put reverse cones on. Maybe tidy the tail.... wouldn't want to do more. Too damn near perfect stock.... Regarding the red valve covers that fade, arent they anodised? All the red anodised bits ive seen fade with uv exposure over time. Feast your eyes on this red beauty! Bob.

Thanks for all your input guys, much appreciated, but a few are missing the point of the question. Which V11 is the best package as it came from the factory? (maybe in order of best specs to (I won't say worst) the lowest spec/handling) .... maybe then a decision of which to buy would be easier. Some have a slightly longer frame, some or these may have lower spec shocks etc, but handle better due to that, some have frame bracing, some don't. Forgive my ignorance. I just thought someone might know all the variations and save me and others as dumb as me) the trouble of lots of research, compiling comparison charts etc to work out which is the best and what might be a small but acceptable compromise. Otherwise i might go for the colour that appeals the most and get the worst buy. Id rather get the best bike and if the colour scheme doesnt turn me on, end up painting it to my liking. (Which is what im going to do with my Griso. RED BIKES LÒOK FASTER!) I'm someone who doesnt know offhand whether sachs or ohlins, marzochi or whatever else is the better shock or whether this one or that handles better in conjunction with this or that set of forks, frame, steering damper etc.... So enlighten me oh wise ones!

Hi guys. I am looking at coming into a few bucks in the near future and will be getting another Guzzi to keep the Breva 750 and Griso 8v 1200 company in the garage. I am torn between so many desirable Guzzis. If I could, I'd have one of each model, but the short list is a 1400 Cali, a Le Mans 1, a Bellagio and a V11. Personally, if I buy a V11, I'd like a Greenie, cos i think it is the most gorgeous of them all, but I could be tempted by any of the other models. Realistically, my budget and the location and availability of a V11 would probably be the biggest deciding factor. V11s are few and far between in Australia, there are only 3 or 4 for sale at the moment, most of them are thousands of kilometers away 😢 so it would probably be a Fly there, ride back situation. That being the case, I'd want to be 100% decided on the bike before committing to travelling to buy. It would help if I knew which model had the best suspension, frame, features, handling etc.... The selection of models seem to have a bewildering number of variations and it does my head in a bit. At the end of the day, if I bought one with a colour scheme that didn't really blow me away, but had the best running gear, I could always paint it green (or red. I love red....) So which V11 has the best of everything? And the least issues. (Like, cracked gearbox housings etc....) I appreciate any input, but would rather bare facts over passion as the root of the discussion. Here are a couple of the bikes that get my juices flowing. (I prefer my bikes to have the same colour paint on all the plastics. Different colour tanks, side covers, seat cowlings etc, just looks to me like they ran out of matching colour components at the factory, so they just stuck whatever was lying around on the bike.) Turning a Centauro into a Café Racer...

I like the idea of a centauro cafe, but like the idea of it still looking like a Centauro................ personally, I think it looks cool with the centauro tank (if the side panels were modified nicely) and the tail just trimmed and tideied like in photo jpg 012, the grey one. It keeps all the wires and plumbing hidden and retains the Centauro character. I'd just add clip ons and hit the road. Don't get me wrong. The Daytona tank looks good, but, why not just get a Daytona? -

Thanx buddy. I would prefer to have the pipes angled upwards to show off the single sided swingarm or even better, put them on the other side of the bike, but Singapore Sucks when it comes to modifying anything. (A mate of mine had his bike FAIL an inspection because he had a crack welded up in the exhaust!!!! It was deemed an illegal exhaust modification. Other mates have spent months and tons of $$$ trying to get after market exhausts approved (EU approved) (even if the same pipe has previously been approved for another owner with the same bike !!!! ) Can't wait to go home to a sane country without so many pedantic rule abiding dicks.

Chrome fender and RED chrome fork brace. Can't wait to get back on my feet and my Guzzis back the road. (2 months post op, one month to go.)

A mate lent me a V7 tank (Plastic one that was replaced under warranty because the chrome had cracked) Tried it with a few different seat, tank combinations,..... so I checked out how they would fit on and look before making the transformation. Have to go with the V7 Racer tank and seat. Just looks too RIGHT. anyway, thare are issues with making the tank fit,.... location of the ECU,... too high for the tank. Bellagio airbox, had to be removed so tank would fit, which required pod filters. I got K&N's and it runs and sounds fantastic. Bellagio 940 Cafe Racer Evolution Part 2 with a walk around and ride. and..... part 3, Bellagio 940 Cafe Racer Evolution This vid shows the problems fitting the V7 tank and seat to the Bellagio 940 Cafe Racer Evolution Project. one issue was the V7 fuel pump was seized. Wouldn't spin, so I bit the bullet, cut the wires to the Bellagio Fuel pump and took it out to see if it would fit. What I found was scary. NO fuel filter and the pump and internal wiring were held together with bits of wire! I mentioned this to the previous owner, who told me he twice paid to change the fuel filter. He won't be using that mechanic again. Fortunately the pump fit into the V7 mounting plate and the V7 filter was ok, so In they went. After a lot of screwing around, I found that to make the seat fit, I had to pull the tank back. I re-used the Bellagio tank/seat bracket, flipping it upside down and back to front, then cutting a slot into it so the lock nut could slide back. That way I could bring the tank back to fit the seat. I had to remove a couple of rubber mounts off the seat and cut away some of the plastic underside so the seat would sit low on the frame. I also had to relocate the seat lock from under the frame plate, to the top of it, so it is high enough for the seat's (shorter) locking pin to fit in the lock. ................... and Voila. They fit perfectly. now just waiting til monday to get a tail light/signal bracket made up so it works with the side numberplate. In the meantime Riding it around like this.

Intro. My back story......... Ive been sporadic, posting bits and pieces, doubling up posts and stuff, in this and other guzzi forums............. time to start a dedicated page for my Moto Guzzi Bellagio Cafe Racer Evolution. Hi. My name's Peter - Cali Jackal Bob. I've owned over 100 bikes. Started riding at 10 or so years old with a "Grand Prix" - home made minibike with a pull start lawn, mower engine. I moved onto a Honda Cr 125 Elsinore 2 stroke which was too much for me at the time, so I swapped it for a Honda XR75. That was fun. I did a long jump one day, about 20 feet airborne and when I touched down, the nuts that held the seat on came loose and the seat fell off mid air which resulted into a nut crunching landing. Anyway, followed up with (not in this order) among others, Suzuki DR175, Honda CB750, CG125, cb125, 250, 400, 900, CX500, ST1100, Kawasaki Gt750, Z250, Z400, Z750, Z650, Z1100b, Zephyr 750, VN1500, Yamaha Xj900, Xs250, 400, 650, ...... all Jap bikes til my BMW R11001R I got sideswiped by a top of penis :-) in a car who decided he wanted to be in the space i was riding in more than I was entitled to it. Killed the BMW, busted my foot and collarbone and left me looking for a replacement. My criteria for a new bike were, must be big. Large capacity engine, impressive, different, a head turner, plenty of power........ I looked at Triumph Rocket 3, Honda Valkyrie, an ST1100 streetfighter, Vmax, Yamaha MT01, (love the V Twin and sporty Muscle bike look) but wanted to do a cafe racer. Can you imagine a Valkyrie with Clip ons and a bum stop seat? Anyway. I bought a Moto Guzzi Jackal, fully intending to make it into a cafe racer, but the draconian laws in this country make any "unapproved" modifications (whether they Improve the bikes handling or safety or not) punishable by jail or ridiculous fines, made me rethink screwing with the Jackal. That's ok though. I soon found the California to be perfect the way it was. (after stripping off the touring saddlebags and fly screen.) I didn't have the heart to meddle with perfection. I was smitten. I loved the Jackal, but more importantly, I was in LOVE with it. ..... so It became a Bobber. I got the Guzzi Virus. I was in LOVE, infected, addicted, totally enarmoured of the Moto Guzzi brand and as the "Harpers Guzzi" Tshirt says,.... Guzzis are like potato chips,.... you cant just have one." Came across a 750 Breva, which I thought would be a nice cafe racer conversion, Did a photoshop mock up,..... but the gearbox was stuffed. Would have cost in excess of $12000 SGD and would still have been a tired , rusty old bike.... then a mate told me of a Bellagio he knew of for sale. I went to see it on my Jackal. so,...... being inspired by the Bellagio (and other Guzzi) Cafe Racers on the internet, I bought the Bellagio. Hi guys. Ok,so it's not a V11. It's a V940 if you like,....... I just fitted K&N pod filters to my Bellagio, removed the airbox, ( it's getting the cafe racer treatment, going to be sporting a V7 tank and seat, so the airbox had to go) This is the plan....... .......... anyway, It now sounds awesome with the K&Ns. Love the induction roar. It's a tiny bit more hesitant to start, but otherwise runs beautifully. Can't tell if it's got more power or not, but sure sounds faster. Being concerned about the possibility of running lean and burning valves, I'm looking into getting a "Boosterplug" ...... an alternative to a Power Commander. Wondering if anyone has tried one and how it affects the running of the engine. Is it worth it? The Bellagio is, as I said, running fine with the K&Ns and stock exhaust. As I understand it, the booster plug / power commander just gives the ECU an underestimate of the ambient temperature, thus prompting the ECU to deliver a richer fuel to air mix. The boosterplug is cheaper than the PC. Seems to do the same thing with less complications. Anyone used one? Any testimonials, advice for or against? Advice appreciated. Peter.
