My 1st bike and what I learned to ride on in 1964 ( not my actual bike) ...1964 C114 50cc "sports Cub"..Indistructible..the most fun I ever had. ..Well almost -
Share your lithium battery experience; cold environment, durability, else?

I've had Shorai batteries on all my bikes for the last 12 years..Norton's,KTM's,Harley's,Ducati's , triumphs,BMW's, Aprilias,Moto Guzzi's...Probably more than 15 bikes..I have had nothing but great use from them.., they crank exceptionally well.I wouldn't have anything else. The only people I know to have problems with them are people who don't follow the charging instructions that comes with them , or..if they happen to let it go totally dead the people don't follow the instructions on how to wake them up..which Shorai will gladly send to you if you call them...They are easy and simple to maintain if you read the instructions. As far as I am concerned..buying one of their charger's will be well worth it in the long run.., they are about $60 USD As Marty Said..When its cold.turn the key and lights on without starting for a few seconds to wake them up..and then then off for a second and before strarting they will give you a stronger crank. -
Welcome! Your in the right place!!

I had the infamous 3000 RPM cough at stop lights when it was hot out on my Rosso Corsa..and never did totally get rid of it..despite trying many things. Then after a complete rebuild on my Scura it was doing the same thing at 3000 in in-town traffic on hot days..I tried everything I could think of , or could read about on the subject..It drove me crazy (er).... Finally I loosened up my valve clearances a little and it seemed to stop..and had still stopped a couple months later when I sold the bike...I don't know if that was a coincidence or what..but that is what happened..

Yes I have done a few of them for myself and friends on Ducati,Aprilia and Moto Guzzi...If you take it off and wash and rinse the inside good with some dish washing soap and hot water ( I hook a garden hose up to the bottom outlet on the hot water heater if nothing else) Then let it dry out for a couple months , in the sun as much as possible possible, I have even taken a low power hair dryer and stuck it in the fill hole and let it run for half a day a couple times... The tank will eventually return to its original size. A good thing to do if you want to take the time and care is to Casswell Epoxy treatment , then it wont swell again and it wont bubble . https://www.google.com/search?q=casswell+fuel+tank+treatment&oq=casswell+fuel+tank+treatment+&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i22i30l3j0i390i650l3.25640j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

KINDOY2 replied to KINDOY2's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Been to several of the races ,Will be going again to Laguna Seca in July.. Roland Sands shop is near my house sponsers the event, ..very competitive serious racing..also fun! I have a friend from Rome who has a race team that it very successful in Italy, and was here racing at Laguna Seca last year with an Aprilia 660 in the "Twin's" class..He could not believe how good the riders are and how fast these "Baggers" are ..they travel thru the Cork Screw as fast as any other bike out there..He thought it was the best racing of the weekend. They have to be seen at the track to fully appreciate. -
