  1. Is that A D Weber Performer in the Back there ???
  2. The great Lucinda Williams doing her own song.... under rated artist
  3. Great to have read your experiences Chuck ..I searched around a lot for a really good audiologist..I think I found a good one..had my first meeting with her yesterday,She has a doctorate from St.Louis University and has been doing this about 10 years..not too old and not too young..and we have a 2nd visit schedualed in a couple weeks to look over the choices...unlike some who only seem to push ONE brand or another..she has about 6 different ones and says we need to find just the right one for me. I have about a 60% hearing loss...and like everyone else of a certain age..never did a thing to protect my ears in the first 2/3 of my life..damn it! Hoping I get the best available for me.
  4. Good point on the "noise cancelling" docc..I was thinking that risk.
  5. Great information and comment Rob, thanks! I have been experiencing some of the same things ie;"When there is a TV for example in the next room and I listen to it with my bad ear only it might as well be in a foreign language as I cannot distinguish anything" I am pursuing the same route you took.
  6. "Now that I am getting older, I realize the wisdom of all the advice I ignored when younger (and not just hearing protection, you could pick just about any topic".... Updates welcome!!
  7. O.k. After 55 years of riding on and off road ,and as many years of listening to loud music..plus a number of years in my 20's covering Top fuel dragsters and funny Cars out on the Starting line as a cameraman for wide world of sports my hearing is getting pretty bad...I saw a Specialist at Stanford this week had an Audiologist test me ...verdict =high frequency hearing loss and Tinnitus. I'm leaving now to start the process of getting Hearing aids.. Do you wear them? What do you do with them when you ride? I usually wear the best ear plugs I can find online..but that is hit or miss. Care to chyme in with your experiences? I figure its something we should ALL learn as much as possible about I found this article which explain's some of what I have heard about in the past. http://www.hearingtestlabs.com/motorcycle.htm
  8. I used to go see Los Lobos a lot at different small Venues around Los Angeles starting around 1979..All great musicians. When I was in College in San Francisco the Early 70's Bob Weir would play the small clubs around the Bay Area when he wasn't playing with The Grateful Dead..He was and no doubt still is talented but honestly I never could really get into his style of playing or performing. The Solo lead player on "Can't let go" really got me...I love his style and sound..not sure what his name is but could listen to a lot more of his playing!!
  9. I think I have a spare complete set I would sell if you don't find them... LMK
  10. It wont be the same for me..I'll watch and Hope Pecco continues to do well, and wish Luca luck...but not much interested in the rest at this point. Its pretty obvious what Marquez and his brother are imo...Valle has too much class to go there.
  11. I like the Rosso Corsa Diablo II's the best. My Rosso Corsa came with the Diablo II's on it and I loved them, so I put another Set on it when those aged out and they were great too, I Have the Rosso Corsa II's on my Scura right now and they are awesome, in fact I have a new pair of them set aside for when/if these wear out, My Ducati 950 SSS came with the Rosso Corsa III's on it and they are working very well. If Milage is your #1 Concern when buying tires then these may not suit you. If great cornering and smooth transitions into corners at speed and tracking is most important I don't feel you can beat the Rosso Corsa II's. I used to run Michelin's on all my bikes..they were good..but imo no comparison to RC's for the feel I get during more Spirited riding....
  12. I used to see this welcoming attitude and sense of comaraderie amongst the dealerships on the west coast in the US maybe 20 -30 years ago...but certainly not today imo...Yes they are nice before you buy but if you are not buying or have already bought, most have little time for us " tire kickers" nor socializing with customers. This is something that has to be created amongst riders somewhere away from the dealership, sadly...they don't get it . some may argue that point, but in my experience, many dealerships don't even remember a time when for customers it was a place to socialize with like minds and cultivate customer loyalty. Thus we have forums like this...thankfully.
  13. Most of the time...its " Sweetheart".. Occasionally .. it's "You heavy bastard"
  14. I like the fact that Keith doesn't use Auto tune.....
