  2. He plays around here in the Bay area semi regularly..they had a big benefit for him here just before covid....some medical issues I believe. Great talent!!
  3. Dust, I think. It’s not cracked or anything, I'll clean it all off and post some better pictures later..these were "on the fly"..
  4. Everything will be powder coated except the final drive, ie;engine cases, trans cases, timing cover, sump, valve covers......I am not doing the final drive right now, mostly because I didn't feel like it , it will get done, but it works fine, the current final drive paint is like new, and it is an easy thing to pull later..but right now I have a 100 other things this bike needs done first...at some point I may buy a 2003 final drive which comes in Satin..I have 2 new 2003 collars in Satin laid aside. for that day. Actually my old Mandello had a Satin type motor paint and trans with an original finish on the Final drive that looked almost just like this Scura's current one....looked fine to me. I have restored a couple old Nortons and used the same powder coater with the same engine paint and they came out beautiful .
  5. Knee deep and forging fwd!!!! Time to get it all stripped , and then off to the powder coaters on Monday..The Original Flywheel looked fine..no cracks or issues..Although I can see and some point a previous owner has done some thrashing of the pressure plates, all the rest of the clutch assy looks fine!! RAM clutch kit sitting here and all ready to put back in on re-assembly, the Transmission and bearings look excellent ..some one has been in there in re-sealed it long ago..Oil pump and timing chain look like new..Found it has had High Compression FBF Pistons installed at some point..all looks good ...Having the crank checked out....Heads and valves look great! Thankful My Mechanic John helping me..learning a lot from his 50 years master mechanic of experience . She will be awesome.
  6. I heard they don"t corner too well in the twisties but Wheelie like a mother.
  7. Wrong color wheels and wrong graphics for an R as well ..imo not that it matters, If it is sound mechanically all the rest is up to personal taste.. Its a nice looking motorcycle.
  8. Took the Rosso Corsa out this morning a nice 150 mi round trip ride from San Francisco North up the coast on Hwy 1 to Bodega Bay and back, she needed to get out and run a tank of gas through her and stretch her legs.. ....she ran beautiful, the weather was sunny and in the low 70's...almost no traffic all the way up!! I'm breaking in some new gloves though...my thumbs are numb...!!
  9. RIP
  10. Address please?😁
  11. AHHHHH....Sandy Kosman Machining work....a friend of mine from 40 years ago...
  12. Its got an aluminum flywheel..I saw it through the hole and checked it with a magnet..They weren't " 2 totally different materials"..the articles he is referring to were regarding different quality "Venders" and manufacturing process's very early on, just on the Mandello's.
  13. I’ll be there...2,500 miles away... wouldn’t miss it!!!
  14. I always liked riding a short frame...OH!..You mean a MOTORCYCLE!..
  15. I heard the Silver Sports were a lot faster, right docc?
  16. My uncle had a powder blue 4 door 57 pontiac when I was a kid in the early 60's, It looked like a big boat family car but that thing could fly!, It had a 346 v8, with Factory Tri Power and a 3 speed Dual Hydromatic transmission..My Cousin would drag race guys in their Hopped up Chevy's with 4 speeds from a rolling start and blow their doors off..very cool car...I liked it because it was a real sleeper.
  17. Appreciate that Chuck..
  18. Actually I remember now..after having the bike in my garage a few months I pulled the fuse before putting it on the charger as I had read that is a good idea to prevent feedback to the voltage regulator..and I simply forgot to put it back in ( I had 3 V-11's at the time and lots of stuff on my benches..including spare's from the tool kit, I remember finding a lose 30 amp on my bench and just figuring it came out of the tool kit...( my memory is for Sht these days)..Not to worry it wasn't intentionally pulled because it was blowing and sold to you with that knowledge..I'm not that sort of guy. Thats probably what the root of your charging issue is..just that fuse...everything else was new before I got the bike from Surj.
  19. If its not cracked Find a flat bench , use a plastic hammer, straighten it ..
  20. Awesome Composition docc
  21. Ditto on removing the cowl to avoid scratching..they scratch easilyand that one has/had no scratches ( not that difficult to remove like 6 easy access bolts)
